About David De Jager, Owner
We are blessed with 4 amazing young inquisitive children and the privilege of living in this GORGEOUS area with so many natural and healthy activities and surroundings. 40 years of local experience give us the insight for nuances not normally offered to visiting guests.

Why David De Jager, Owner chose Wolfeboro
This is one of the last surviving Cottage Clusters in the area. We can host up to 75 people. This used to be the predominant method of travel for thousands of weary city dwellers escaping the heat, noise and smoke of the summer to arrive by train, carriage and boat to these shores. Most other colonies have been dismantled or sold for condominiums, but we endeavor to preserve this pure and healthy traditional form of family vacations dating back to the 1920's when travel was just a little bit edgy and vacation was in it's advent. Come experience a nostalgic piece of history and see if you don't agree with so many others who feel they have re-discovered something forgotten deep inside them.

Quiet and friendly environment
We loved our stay at the cottages. It is in a great location and everyone was very friendly. Would definitely stay again.
Cute Cottage Getaway
When we drove into the property, there's a definite sense of safety, as the cottages are behind the main house. Each cottage is like its own suite with a small bathroom, kitchenette and bedroom. Everything minimal you need is provided (including some soaps and conditioner--towels provided upon request). Perfect little place for couples and families for a vacation/getaway near the lakes!
Cottage #10 was everything as advertised. Very comfortable and clean. Very very nice! *****
We were looking for a quiet, comfortable cottage to get away for our 40th anniversary with our 2 dogs for leaf peeping season. Cottages of Wolfeboro was the exact match. Cottage #10 is a 1 bedroom with a very good bed and plenty of room for us and our dogs. Our stay in the area was fantastic, in great part by the property manager Jody. Anyone staying at the cottages should seek her out as soon as you arrive. She recommended a few good restaurants which were all great and was very knowledgeable about the area. If there is anything you need she takes care of it immediately. She is a huge asset to the Cottages and made our stay great.
If you have dogs or are a walker or biker, find the Cotton Valley Rail Trail which runs behind the cottages along Front/Back Bay, (called Front on some maps and Back on others) , which in one direction runs right into main street Wolfeboro, and the other way for 12 miles all the way around Lake Wentworth. It is flat and groomed all the way and beautifully scenic. We also took a hike up Turtleback mountain which took about 2 hours up a sometimes pretty steep grade on very well maintained trails to the scenic overlook at the top of the Blue Oak ridge trail. We recommend starting with the yellow trail just below the parking lot at Castle in the Clouds. The overlook is fantastic. You can see the whole North end of Winnipesaukee and you actually look slightly down at Castle in the Clouds.
We would highly recommend Mexican food at El Centauria (?spelling) and if you are going to grill at the cottage, find Mill Street Meat Market for the best marinated sirloin tips and marinated chicken we have ever had. (Also recommended by Jody)
We are absolutely returning to The Cottages and are planning to book 3 cottages for us and our 2 sons for waterskiing in the bay.
A great time!
Clay and Meg, 25. We came to hike, kayak and relax and this cabin was perfect for that! Lake Wentworth is GORGEOUS! Perfect for canoes/kayaks unlike Lake Winnipesaukee..The cabin was so clean and just the right size for a couple. Everyone around was respectful and we each had our own parking space. We both had a great time and would love to return next summer!
Always on point. Inviting and welcoming!
Year after year this is our home away from home.
We had such an amazing vacation and enjoyed staying at the cottage! It was very clean and had everything we needed in both the kitchen and bedroom. Thank you so much! We are already talking about planning another trip up! :)
