A lazy Indulgent Week
We have very recently moved house which has been a bit of an ordeal so we wanted to just chill out for the first week of our trip. We could not have picked better than this fine property in Touzac, a stone's throw from the river Lot in a really nice area. This is the very place for anyone wanting their own space, comfort, and tranquillity. The property is a fairly recent build but is in the French style complete with Pigeonnier type tower. Very impressive on the photos and even better on arrival, with all that was promised being delivered. The pool is possibly the best we have had in the many properties we have rented, perfectly maintained and the cover was a breeze to operate, with the water at about 27 degrees. We could not have been in a better place given the weather we had. We had every meal and drink outside in shade or sun as appropriate, and retired to a comfortable bed. Along with good plumbing and a well kitted out kitchen we had all we needed for a good stay. Vincent and Denise made sure the property was exceptionally clean and they were close to hand if needed, and thanks to Jim and Jan for a smooth rental. David and Ann, June 2019
Amazing Holiday In a fantastic location.
We arrived on the Saturday afternoon after a relaxed drive down from Eurotunnel, we found the villa without any issues in a Beautiful peaceful location.
The villa had everything we wanted the garden (fully fenced) was a big hit with our Golden retriever, the pool was perfect and about 29°c.
The layout and amenities to the property were perfect we have had the best time ever and will be returning next year.
The area, shops, vets and people living locally were amazing to we felt so at home here.
Jim and Jan were great to deal with too.
Only a few downsides to the holiday, we got bite a few times so don't forget you insect repleant there are a few flies that we're really annoying and finally the worse one was having to come home 😩.
Thank you for allowing us to use your home for a perfect holiday.

We're absolutely delighted you had such an excellent time, and really liked the house, the pool, the garden and the surrounding area.
We and our house managers work very hard to provide a nice relaxing and comfortable holiday home, and reviews like this make all that very worthwhile.
Your review is much appreciated, and we hope it will encourage others to come and stay as well.
Perfect holiday house!
Six of us stayed for a week in May, we had wonderful weather, enjoyed the pool and the house had all we needed. We especially appreciated the comfortable garden furniture! We were serenaded by nightingales day and night and the dog appreciated the shaded areas in the garden. We enjoyed an evening walk to the cafe in Touzac several nights and revisited St. Cirq la Popie and Rocamadour. Easy drive to local Bergerac airport. Short distance to a number of very good restaurants. Overall a great success and we shall return.
We're really pleased you all had such a nice time, and enjoyed the house, the pool, the garden and the village. We try really hard to make the house a home from home so reviews like this are the ideal reward.
A lovely review from the perfect guests!
We travelled from Wiltshire, July 17, to Touzac via Euro Tunnel with our pets. We arrived at the house and we were completely wowed by the house, garden and the icing on the cake....the pool... We had a welcome bottle of wine along with an overview on the amenities within the property There was an abundance on kitchen equipment and crockery giving a home from home experience. There was ample outdoor furniture with strategical place tables and chairs around the garden for Sun and welcome shade on really hot days during our stay. A very clean and airy property with lots of appeal.
A bird watchers paradise...so many breeds to mention, plus kites, buzzards and sparrow hawks.
A truly wonderful holiday with full support from the house managers if needed. We would not hesitate in recommending this property for a relaxing holiday with the feel of rural France on your doorstep.
Many thanks to Jim and Jan..
John and Lynn, Wiltshire England
All we can say is thanks very much to John and Lynn for such a great review, and we'll all keep on working hard to make sure the house stays this nice for every guest (and of course for when we stay!!)
Excellent villa and location
Excellent facilities, spacious rooms and fantastic garden with swimming pool. Well-maintained with access to both general maintenence and technical support if needed. Rural location with the River Lot close by. Lots of walks, activities and towns within a short journey. Large supermarkets within a few minutes drive. The owner provides information about the area and travel directions - much appreciated. If you are looking for a large villa in a rural location but relatively close to facilities, then this is to be recommended.
A lovely time in a lovely home
We spent more than a month in your house, and we had a wonderful time.
The house was fully equipped, the beds were great, and the pool was wonderful.
The situation of the house is nice and quiet, and close enough to shops and places of interest.
We will be back!
Touzac is is a small village inside a bend of the river Lot. There is a restored XVII century neo-Romanaque church and a range of local wine producers nearby. There are many good value restaurants within a thirty minute drive. The area is excellent for outdoor activities including rambling and cycling, and the chateaux of the Dordogne are only about an hour's drive away. The river Lot itself glides past the bottom of the land below Les Crouzets. Well known tourist sites in the area include the spectacular castle of Bonaguil, the famous cliff side location of Rocamadour and the regional city of Cahors with a good range of shops. Nearby Fumel has large supermarkets and small shops where you can get all your supplies, and several restaurants and cafes for eating out. Puy l Eveque is a really attractive large village near to Touzac, built on a hill next to the Lot river, and there are good leisure facilities.
