About Ralph Kimbrell

Hi, my name is Ralph I am a graduate of the NYS Ranger School, I love the Adirondack Mountains, Forest, and waters. There is somthing magical about the woods, the aroma of pines, the fresh air, the sound of the wind through the forest, the sound of a mountain river. I own and operate Mountain River Properties, and build, sell or lease Cabins in the woods, and sell land also. Come on up and enjoy the pristine setting that the Independence River Cabin offers.

I am also a singer/ songwriter/guitar player and have an album and 2 singles released (on I-tunes and other sites), mostly christian contemporary music. My favorite place to play guitar is with friends around a camp fire.

Ralph Kimbrell purchased this cabin in 2011

Excellent. Heat was just right when we arrived. Stove produced a lot of heat once we were there. Only thing is the difficult driveway. For those who rent this do not part a trailer at the bottom hill near the cabin, you won't get back up!! Other than that the cabin was adorable

Fabulous cabin and ideal location! Snowed in and loved it. great snowshoeing, lots of deer

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was perfect for a 4 night getaway for relaxing, snowshoeing, taking pictures of the gorgeous winter scenes and the daily deer that visited the property. My wife and I and our little Jack Russell really loved this property and we will surely be back! With lots of fresh snow almost every day on top of what was already there when we arrived the conditions couldn't have been better. Lots of places to snowshoe through the old growth pines and along the river, very peaceful.

Enjoyed meeting and chatting with Ralph when he came down to plow us out, real nice guy and very helpful. The cabin is well equipped, really well built and absolutely spotless. Fire in the woodstove and deer in the drive when we arrived!

This cabin is one of the most spectacular places we have ever stayed. The setting is unbelievable, even in the dead of winter. The river is steps away, the outdoor amenities (fire pit, benches, chairs, swing overlooking the river, steps down to the water, fire wood) are well thought out and well maintained. The cabin itself is cozy, bright, comfortable and has everything one could want.

We are cross-country skiiers and were happy to discover that 1/4 mile away was the trailhead for miles of skiing. We were there on a quiet Sunday morning. It is also a snowmobile trail so may get busy but we were first and only that morning.

My only wish is that it was bigger so we could bring our whole family next time!

Great Cabin in the Woods!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful property in a quiet, secluded spot by a rushing river! The two of us had a great weekend with the dog relaxing and doing a bit of hiking. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and get back to nature!

Located on the Otter Creek horse trail system ,includes 65 miles of horse trails located on Independence River and Otter Creek State Forest. Located within the Adirondack park. These trails on the state forest are also great hiking trails and cross country ski trails. Trails wind through wooded areas along Adirondack ponds, gently flowing waters like otter, little otter, beaver meadow, chase and crooked creeks, and the independence river and Gleasmans Falls. The Otter Creek State Forest horse stables are 2.5 mies away, and close to many private horse back riding stables.
