About the Owner

I purchased 'The Little Red House' from my son and his wife. I had stayed in their home when visiting them in Bozeman for the past 7 years.

When they decided to move to a larger home I couldn't think of visiting Bozeman and not being able to stay in this little house.

I am a 67 year old Nana living in Minneapolis, Minnesota who loves to visit her grandchildren. This home is the envy of all my son's and wife's friends, and they wanted to make sure it stayed in the family. You will feel the same when you choose to stay. For a little while it can be yours to love.

The big back yard is perfect for BBQ's and just relaxing after a busy day out of doors.

The back yard is secure and fully fenced.

The photo is of me and my son, Wyatt, who manages the property for me. He cares for this house as much as I do because it was his first.

Great location, lots of charm

  • 5 of 5

This cute little house worked perfectly for our family as we helped our oldest son get settled in as a new Freshman at Montana State University. Location is within walking distance to Main Street with plenty of restaurants, shops, etc and a quick (~ 5 minute) drive to campus. House is older and thus has charm - a few creaky floorboards and just one (nice) bathroom to share. Temperature of upstairs was warm during day but window A/C unit and fans cooled it down just fine for us before bedtime. Kitchen was great - full size and easy to use. We would recommend if you like charm and something that isn't 'cookie cutter'.

Unique house, but with some issues...

  • 2 of 5

Location was great, central Bozeman with a number of good restaurants and shops nearby. Eclectic add-ons give the place a fun feel, and it has a really unique layout and backyard area.

Although the property was nice, there were a number of issues related to management and upkeep:

Beds were not made when we arrived

Many cobwebs and bugs (alive and dead)

Not very clean (bathtub was dirty, dishes in cabinet were sticky)

No hair dryer or ironing board, missing basic utensils like a spatula

Various things were in disrepair upon arrival (e.g. broken toilet paper holder, kitchen faucet sprayer didn't work)

A/C window units didn't work well, were loud and didn't provide good air circulation. The downstairs unit blew grit everywhere and the one upstairs would come unhooked and blow hot air on my baby at night.

This was a nice house, but would hold off on recommending it until the property management issues are sorted out.

Hope this helps!

Charming, Practical, and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

Although our stay was short, we truly enjoyed our stay at this place. The Kitchen was great for cooking and watching the kids play in the backyard. BBQ station worked awesome as well. AC upstairs and main floor kept the place just right on those hot days. We will definitely be back next time we head over to Bozeman.

Excellent Stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and our two small children loved the little red house. The location was amazing, being just a few minutes walk from downtown in a charming neighborhood. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed for a great stay. I have rented several houses through VRBO and this was the best stocked house I have experienced. The kitchen had everything we needed and good quality pots, pans and utensils. Having pantry staples was also very appreciated. My four year old son particularly enjoyed the upstairs which had toys and books for children. The fenced in backyard was also great with kids and even included outdoor toys. I would highly recommend this house and will stay here again when visiting Bozeman!
