About Menavia Langlais
My name is Menavia Langlais. I was born on the Caribbean island of Dominica. I migrated to the beautiful Caribbean island of Dutch Sint Maarten at an early age. I am a hardworking, honest, reliable, kind hearted, and a very compassionate person with lots of great ideas and a great personality. I love to make others happy. I've owned my own business for twelve years in Sint Maarten until I decided to retire and moved to the United States of America, where I now call my home. I love traveling the globe and meeting people. My favorite travel destinations are Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Germany, Belgium, Hawaii, Australia, Holland, and the Caribbean islands surrounding Sint Maarten. Someone like me has a consultative hosting style and is concerned with the guest's needs--consistently asking questions to uncover what the guests truly wants, and then being able to meet those requirements. I worked very hard to build and design this beautiful home, which I take great pleasure in sharing with awesome people like you, people that have an interest in visiting and vacationing on the beautiful Caribbean island of Sint Maarten. It would make me extremely happy and proud if you had a perfect stay at the apartment. Remember, feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or questions. Menavia Langlais

Why Menavia Langlais chose Cul de Sac
This property is so important to me, because for better or worse, by the presence, it is a crucial point of reference, in memory, feeling, and imagination for inventing the story of myself, my life narrative, for understanding my place in time. It is also a vital link through which I can connect with others and with the world and the universe at large. I have that I have the opportunity to share it with others.
What makes this Apartment unique
I fell in love with my home 24 years because of the view " seeing those hills and all the greenery the flowers from the front yard just made me feel happy and peaceful". I love that I am able to hear the sound of the birds. It's so serene. I fell in love with the view of the Dutch cul-de-sac. You're able to see the view of the hills as well which is such a peaceful sight to see. I love all the different fruits in the yard. Love relaxing outside in the Gazebo enjoying the atmosphere and the garden. I have a house that feels comfortable where you feel okay taking off your shoes. The unique benefits Are you have the best of both worlds. I get to enjoy my vacation home, while also benefiting from rent earnings during the rest of the time. I can visit the property during various periods of the year, either by blocking the calendar in advance or even by making a last-minute trip if the timing is free. For me my vacation property is where some of my best and most lasting memories with friends and family are made.

Wonderful stay in St. Martin
What a wonderful little gem we found in the middle of the island. MEcasa Menavia was a wonderful place to stay and a very reasonable price. Thank you Menavia.
Thank you Kim for your review. I so appreciate you taking time to share your experience at MEcasa Menavia St. Maarten.
fantastic property and a wonderful hostess
Menavia is essentially sharing her home with you in Many ways, and it is arguably the best deal on the island. It is located up the hill in the Dutch Cul'd sac between Phillipsburg and Simpson Bay and is literally 10 minutes drive from each, I timed it. They say you should have a car anyway even the remotest place on the 49 Square mile island are less than an hour away. Her place is in a very quite neighborhood and is incredibly comfortable. She offered us a bottle of wine from her cellar, referred us to great car rental agent, recommended dining, she just can't do enough for you. I am a new VRBO owner (Browning Mansion in Utah ski country) and I aspire to providing the kind service Menavia does. We rented a sailboat with a group and after our trip some of the crew rented a room at the Simpson Bay resort for $175 per night in the off season and it wasn't anywhere near as comfortably or as well appointed, so we contacted Menavia again and she allowed us to stay another two nights at the end of our trip and our friends might have been a little jealous as they visited us here. Your hostess provides beach blankets, towels, ice chests, no cost laundry, efficient Kitchen and dining area with all necessities, huge bath with shower and Jacuzzi tub and a very generous bedroom suite with a queen and single bed, computer wifi, printer, and magic jack phone for no cost calls. She has well deserved her super host status. I would hope to stay here every time I return to St Martin.
Thank you, Gary & Robin, for your lovely review. Thank you for being exceptional guests. You and Robin really follow all the House Rules, treated my place like it was yours. Communication was a plus. Thank you for all the help and all that you and Robin have done.

Once again Thank you
This property was shown to us before our rental period, so we had a some insight as to what to expect besides the description on VRBO. We would recommend to others as this unit was exceptionally clean, well appointed, located in a nice neighborhood, and gave us a feeling of security.
Before checking in, we got our usual supply of groceries and found out upon arrival that many of the items that we had brought from home or purchased local were supplied with the rental. The bedroom and bathroom are very spacious and comfortable - stocked with a great number of bath towels, beach towels, and linens. The gazebo was a great hangout to enjoy the outdoors, with reliable WIFI in the area as well as the studio.
There were a couple of questions/concerns that came up during our stay. These items were taken care of immediately by Menavia. She is exceptional as a host, keeping in touch to ensure a satisfactory stay and providing insight into activities that may interest her visitors or make their stay more enjoyable. Her activities and interests as a host, were genuine and refreshing!
Thank you Randy & Bonnie for your positive comments. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay! I’m happy that I’ve achieved my goal in making your stay memorable by being and outstanding host. Communicated vey well, always check to see how I was doing. She gave great advise on places to go and what to do.

Best Things To Do in St. Maarten/St. Martin
Orient Bay (St. Martin) Free
There's a constant hum of activity on Orient, from the parasailing and windsurfing, to the eating and drinking, to the live music and people gazing.
What the beach isn't good for, however, the mere swimming.
Cupecoy Beach (St. Maarten) free
Located on the island's southwest tip, Cupecoy is a set of three beaches surrounded by limestone cliffs. Cupecoy Beach is also noteworthy as a GLBT friendly beach.
Friar's Bay (St. Martin) free
Friar's Bay, or Anse des Peres.
Even if you don't visit Friar's for the water, consider attending a Full Moon Party at the area's Kali's Beach Bar between the town of Grand Case and Marigot.
Maho Bay (St. Maarten)
The southwestern beach's fame is due to its abnormal proximity to the Princess Juliana International Airport.
La Galion Beach (St. Martin) free
The La Galion Beach is the next Bay southeast of nuzzling Orient Bay. This laid back Beach is surrounded by coral reef that serves as a protection, providing calm and shallow waters to Le Galion.
Accessible via an hour-long hike from Guana Bay along a pleasant coastal path, Geneva Bay is a nature’s swimming pool "par excellence", and is well protected from the rolling waves of the Atlantic. Very romantic.
ECOTOURISM: ST. MAARTEN/ST. MARTIN
Pic du Paradis (St. Martin)
But even though Pic du Paradis is free to visit on your own, it's best to visit as part of a large group. There have been problems with theft along a narrow, undeveloped road that's near the top of the peak. It's located between Grand Case and Marigot. The pathway up the mountain is open from 7 a.m to 7 p.m., but you should avoid the area altogether as evening approaches
Loterie Farm (St. Maarten visitors can hike, bike or even meditate on the 150 acres of forest and farmland located near the foot of Pic du Paradis. Try out the Zip line soars through Loterie's forest. Round out your visit with lunch or dinner in the well-reviewed Hidden Forest
ST. MAARTEN/ST. MARTIN: PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Public transportation is limited to small busses that run between major areas. There is no schedule or bus stop, you just watch for a bus (minivan) to approach and flag them down. The cost is either $1 or $1.50 ( try having exact change depending on how far you go. Sometimes you will have to switch busses so make sure to ask the bus driver when you get on. There will be a sign in the window telling you the beginning and ending points of the route. When you are ready to get of just tell the driver. Busses can take a little longer because they will stop to pick up a passenger then drive 20 feet to pick up or drop off someone else.
Example: if you want to go from my apartment ( MEcasa Menavia St. Maarten) to Philipsburg you would catch a bus headed to Philipsburg and get of near where you want to go. If you want to take to go from Philipsburg back to my apartment (MEcasa Menavia St. Maarten) you would catch a bus headed to St. Peter/South Rewards. To go from Marigot to Simpson Bay you take a bus headed for Philipsburg get off at the "T" intersection (look for a Kentucky Fried Chicken) and wait for a bus headed to Mullet Bay.
NOTE: The busses do not run much at night and almost never past 11 PM
Taxi are plentiful but can be expensive. You can get a cab at the Airport. Prices are set by the Government and are determined by how far you go. Cabs can charge more for luggage, extra persons and surcharge at night. Restaurant will call a cab for you just make sure to wait for the cab number they give you. Keep in mind it will cost you about $12., from Airport to Philipsburg or Marigot. During the day, these vans mostly cater to cruise ship traffic, motoring travelers to and from sites. But the taxis are also great transportation at night, particularly as the minibuses are less likely to run.
They are unmetered, so agree on fare before entering the cab.
ST. MAARTEN/ST.MARTIN: SAFETY IN ST. MAARTEN
Please avoid the tourist attitude of "I'm in paradise therefore I can go anywhere, do anything, use no common sense and will be fine." That sets up for potential problems. Here are some things to keep in mind.
Leave your valuables lying on table out in open
Leave thing unattended on beach
3. Carry large sums of money
4. Wear a lot of expensive looking jewelry
5. Bring anything that is irreplaceable
6. Take out money and count it out in the open
7. Walk down a dark road or alley at night alone
8. Go to a secluded beach alone or significant other
9. Carry valuables when going to the beach
10. Send off your teen alone at night
11. Go off by yourself especially at night. Do not leave your brains at home- you would not do these things at home so why would you do it on vacation
