About the Owner

Our family loves the mountains and purchased this cabin to get away from the hustle and bustle of Southern CA... and to escape the heat of the Inland Empire. We love to hike, ski, fish, bike and snow shoe. Our grandchildren love to come up to play whether there is snow or not. The zoo, museum, and the Discovery Center are all favorite places to visit. When we arrive we feel instantly at peace and hope you get that same feeling when you visit.

Awesome Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The Cozy Cabin was everything we expected and more. The cabin is located in a nice area and is very cute. We have rented other cabins, but this is our favorite hands down. It is spacious, roomy, clean and affordable. We spent every morning on the porch swing having coffee and the evenings in the back yard barbecuing and soaking in the jacuzzi. The kids loved playing Millionaire Manopoly and watching movies in the spacious living room. Thank you Susan for providing a wonderful place to vacation!

The cozy cabin was delightful, very clean, WELL equipped, quiet setting and close to Big Bear Lake. Beautiful mountain drive on our way to do some sightseeing in the LA area about 1.5 hrs. away!

Best Cabin Ever!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was amazing, the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, rooms were warm and comfortable. The owner Susan was very nice and helpful, she even got us a new grill, which I appreciate a lot. We had such a great time, we will definitely be back (in December)

More then what we bargained for !!

  • 5 of 5

This was an excellent cabin to stay at. We rented a cabin in Big Bear a year ago and left a bad taste, so not knowing what we were getting we did more researching. Our main goal was a place that we felt safe to have our puppies at. We were so pleasantly surprised at what was in store. The yard was perfect for the puppies, the fence has been upgraded even from the pictures. The cabin had so many amenities and to be honest we brought up so much of our own stuff not knowing that people stock their cabin like their ad claims. This place had so many items in the kitchen, had we have known we could have made some amazing gourmet meals with all of the items they had stocked in cooking items. The cabin was clean, and the owner Susan really accommodated us and was available to answer any questions myself or my husband had. Susan had very little rules for us to follow but always wanted us to treat her home like our own and we could see that she really took the time and effort to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this cabin and will stay there again if it is available. Shout out to Nick that gave us access and guided us into town. Susan thanks again for such a wonderful weekend and more importantly you have given us faith on believing what is advertised is better then what we expected.

The perfect spot for fun in the snow!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin's a great option for anyone wanting to do a little sledding with young kids and just enjoy the snow without dealing with the crowds of Big Bear proper.

I believe the house is about four houses away from the end of the block, which leads into a valley that, on our visit, was covered in a few feet of snow. There's a great little sledding run with a berm at the bottom to keep the kids from going into the street, and a bit further into the trees were some steeper runs for the more adventurous. This allowed our quick-to-tire kids to return to the cabin for a snack or a bathroom break, then head back out for more downhill runs.

And oh, yes, the property itself? Flawless. Whenever I go on vacation there's usually *something* I can point to that isn't working or is in some state of disrepair - an outlet that doesn't work, a door that doesn't lock, tv's on the fritz, the wifi's flaky, etc. My wife and I were talking when we returned and the only thing we could come up with was that the can opener was a little tough to finagle. That's it! Seriously! And we managed to still get the can open so there ya go :)

It's surprisingly roomy and well laid out for the overall size of the house, with a backyard ideal for the kids to toss snowballs around and make snow angels. We had four adults and four kids in there and I can't say it ever felt cramped.

Before we arrived we were instructed to call the property manager (whose name I'm blanking on all of a sudden, sorry to the nice man in the Steelers hat!) to let him know when we were headed up the mountain. He arrived ahead of us, turning on the heat in the house, the heat for the spa, and made sure the tvs were working. He gave us a quick walk-through of the property, and as everything was in perfect working order it was quick and easy.

I saw a previous review had mentioned the master bed's mattress, and the homeowner had replaced it. I don't know what was there before, but we had a wonderful couple nights of sleep, even with a newborn and the schedules they keep for eating and sleeping.

One thing to call out - the stairs in the house are pretty steep and the steps themselves aren't very deep so anyone with young kids is wise to consider that when booking. We had a quartet of kids all under 5 years old and made it out of there healthy but the homeowner's thoughtful enough to provide a quick-to-setup baby gate if this is something you'd require.

Highly recommended!

Truly a cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this cabin for Thanksgiving weekend as we wanted to be able to cook. We didn't expect it to be so cute and comfortable! A full kitchen was at our disposal, the rooms were warm and comfortable, the décor throughout the house was charming, and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The wi-fi and satellite TV made it possible for the football games to be watched and the social media connections to be made. The spa was delightful and, on top of everything, it snowed for an entire day which was absolutely lovely! It's a bit of a drive to town, but that's not a bad thing when you're looking for a quieter time. And a box of cookies and bottle of wine were waiting for us when we arrived! We would highly recommend this cabin and hope to return soon!

Owner's Response: I am so pleased you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, I try very hard to make my cabin a comfortable mountain experience. ( I do wish I could take credit for the snowstorm.) Susan
