Spectacular Property Surrounded By Water

Property Details

Updated: Jul 15, 2016
House, 3 Bedrooms + Media Room, 3 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

Las Tres Vistas is a comfortable family home in a spectacular waterfront setting. Located near Roche Harbor on San Juan Island, this three-bedroom home sleeps up to six and is available by the day or by the week with seasonal rates priced to provide exceptional value at any time of year.

The property include a deepwater dock which is available from mid-April through mid-October. The dock can accommodate vessels up to 60 feet in length and is included in the rental rate for the home. The dock includes power but not water. Guests are recommended to fill their water tanks at nearby Roche Harbor Marina.

Las Tres Vistas is perched at the east tip of Davison Head, on the north end of beautiful San Juan Island. With over 500' of waterfront and 270-degree water views, you'll never want to leave. Enjoy watching the boats and wildlife as you relax on the deck, at the fire pit, or while having a meal in the dining room.

Walk, drive or boat to nearby Roche Harbor Resort to enjoy its amenities. Take a walking tour of the historic location, including the family mausoleum and recently restored lime kilns. Bathe yourself in luxury at the resort's Afterglow Spa and indulge your shopping needs at its shops and kiosks. There's even a chandlery and marine service shop, for those who arrive by boat.

With three restaurants, two bars and a grocery store, the resort could satisfy all your dining requirements by itself. But you will also want to visit the small town of Friday Harbor, only 20 minutes away on the east side of the island. There you will find more dining, shopping and cultural opportunities.

Las Tres Vistas offers three bedrooms, each with a water view and each with its own bathroom. The main level master is furnished with a king-sized bed and looks out to Neil Bay. The two lower level bedrooms have queen-sized beds. All three bedrooms have exterior access.

Getting here is truly half the fun. Most who visit San Juan Island take a Washington State Ferry from Anacortes, but there are many other options available, including private boat, commercial passenger ferry, and private or commercial airplane.

If you plan to come any time between mid-May and September, you can take the Victoria Clipper from Seattle. Or bring your own boat and moor it on the private dock at Las Tres Vistas for the duration of your stay. (The private dock is unavailable mid-October through mid-April.)

There are also several options available to those who choose to come by air, including scheduled flights on San Juan Airlines or Kenmore Air, and chartered flights on Northwest SkyFerry or Westwind Aviation.

If you have any questions or would like more information, check out the San Juan Island Islands Visitors Bureau website, or contact us directly for advice.

Amazing location, beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

I had a great stay here with my friends for new years eve. The owner was a pleasure to speak with and when we arrived, had a bottle of wine waiting for us in the home.

The location is amazing, sweeping views of the harbor all around. The kitchen was fully stocked and plenty of board games to entertain us for hours.

We started a fire in the pit but it was much too cold out to enjoy it fully, I bet it's nice in the summer.

Would recommend a stay here to anyone. Also, lots of privacy where the home is located - feels like you've got your own secret hideaway.

Absolutely stunning!

  • 5 of 5

I've fallen in love with the PNW and want to retire there, but I've only seen it during the glorious summer months. I came across this listing and even showed it to a realtor on Whidbey as an example of the perfect PNW style house (she agreed). I wanted to visit during the gloomy time, so I contacted the property manager to see how much more Thanksgiving week would be than the regular off-season rate. She wrote back promptly, informing me that it was the normal off-season rate. I couldn't believe it - I booked tickets that day!!

The night before our flight we were up until midnight and got up at 3am. After traveling all day, a long wait for luggage at SeaTac and an even longer hassle getting our rental car, getting groceries, etc., we reached the ferry only to find out that it was full and we'd have to wait for the next one. In the dark and the cold and the rain. After the ferry ride, we drove up to the house (you want to do this during daylight if possible, it's pretty hard to find if it's dark and raining), and with the house lights on waiting for us it was like coming home. It was so inviting and welcoming that all of the exhaustion of the preparation and the travel just melted away. The house is amazing - the furniture is comfortable and inviting without being saggy, and the artwork and wall colors are serene. The kitchen has practically everything you could think of (even a knife sharpener) - and we cooked a Thanksgiving dinner! The bed (we only used the master) was comfortable, and even though there's a glass sliding door as one wall of the bedroom, it's hidden from other houses by the bay and the garage, so you don't feel awkward changing clothes. Water pressure and temp in the shower were wonderful, and the entire house is very, very private. We used the grill every night, and we spent countless hours watching the seals, playing Bananagrams (kind of like Scrabble without a board, super fun), and reading. The house was spotless when we got there, everything worked well and there was enough information about semi-complicated things like the hot water spigot and the iPod player. Wifi was great - I had to do some work while there and it was easy to do, except for being distracted by the wildlife! The location is simply unbelievable - you really are surrounded by water. The owners called the day after we arrived to make sure we didn't need anything, and we told them we weren't leaving! I wish we hadn't - it was perfect. I can't wait to return!

Neil Bay weekend

  • 5 of 5

The place is perfect and the location amazing. At the end of a narrow point, with Spieden Channel on the north and Neil Bay to the south, just spectacular.

Exceeds Expectations

  • 5 of 5

When I discovered this property on VRBO it appeared to be wonderful, but experience had me believing that there had to be something just outside the range of the photos that would be a problem. Some of the bad reviews had also concerned me. When we arrived at the house we spent at least 30-minutes just wandering around the house and property in total awe. None of us could really believe this would be our home for the next few days. As others have stated, this home really is even better than the photos can convey. It practically feels like your own private little island. The layout worked out very well offering two couples privacy when wanted and great shared spaces both indoors and out. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave such a beautiful place at the end of our stay but we certainly look forward to visiting again.

Owner's Response: We're travelers ourselves, and we'd always rather be surprised than disappointed. So if we've left a little room for surprise in our description, that's okay by me. Glad you enjoyed the place, Tom.

Amazing location

  • 5 of 5

We booked this for a group of friends after viewing the house from the water in our boat. We kept saying "it can't be that place right on the point!". But it was. We couldn't have had a better time. The house itself was great, but the location is what was amazing. At the end of a quiet, private drive and just a short walk from Roche Harbor (my favorite place in the San Juans) the house sits at the tip of Davidson Head with 270 degrees. Just like other reviewers, we saw every creature possible, including eagles, seals, porpoise and otters right from the yard. The dock was a huge draw for us as we were able to tie up our 48' boat during the stay. We spent days wandering into Roche Harbor, whale watching on the boat, crabbing in the bay, and soaking in the sun. Nights were spent out on the back deck and eventually progressed to around the fire pit. There is nothing deceiving about the descriptions and photos—the place looks even better in person. I have no clue about some of the reviews from last year complaining about odors and technical problems. (Do people sit around and watch tv while in such a magnificent setting!? ) The house was clean and well stocked. The owner greeted us when we arrived and there were multiple phone contacts provided in case we needed anything. Thanks for providing us an awesome venue for a very memorable stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Craig, for that wonderful review. While I can't say that the owners greet every guest, they are there often making sure that things are just right. It is true that there is no property like this on the islands - on its own little peninsula with 270 degrees of water. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Spectacular setting

This property met and exceeded all our expectations. We were greeted by seals playing nearby and the most spectacular rainbow we'd even seen and a gorgeous sunset. Hated to leave but hope to return someday.
