About the Owner

I am a native of New Orleans and absolutely love this part of town. This was our starter home but have outgrown it with kids. This house allows me to wake up in the morning and get a coffee next door then go work-out at the pilates studio or just walk the strip. An Uptown Paradise Stay!

Great location

  • 5 of 5

Amazing neighborhood , convenient , close to very good restaurants and bars, very close to streetcar on St Charles street . Whole Foods across the street is a hughe plus. Very quiet neighborhood , yet so much fun with Magazine street next to it. The location is fabulous !!!!

The house is charming , clean, great flow , awesome kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need; there were four of us and it felt very spacious . There is enough space for another couple . We would highly recommend this house and if we ever come back , we would stay here again .

Thank you so much for such a great stay .

Wonderful and memorable 3 night stay in Uptown New Orleans

  • 5 of 5

I do not usually do reviews but I want anyone interested in staying here to be assured that this is the place to be. It is very close to grocery stores, a CVS, restaurants, quaint bars and boutiques. A coffee shop is outside your door! The location is very close to all of the attractions. It is only a short walk down the street to St. Charles street so you can jump on a street car and get downtown to Bourbon Street and all the great places around it. It is also close to the oldest city owned cemetery-- Lafayette Cemetery No.1. Great history and fun walking through that one. We also found ourselves just walking around the neighborhood at times eating and drinking at various restaurants and bars recommended by the owner. We drove to New Orleans in a rather large truck and it fit nicely in the off-street parking provided. The home was beautiful, cozy and as described. We hope to be returning soon!

Superb location! Great for small families!

  • 4 of 5

Don't let the facade of the house deter you! The inside is gorgeous and updated, with a very large kitchen and living room space. You also can't beat the location with a guaranteed parking spot. We enjoyed walking and shopping up Magazine street during our stay. We have a 1 yr old son and my most favorite part about this rental is all the toys, packnplay and high chair are already here! Very convenient for those traveling with little ones. Jennifer was very responsive during the duration of our rental.

I always believe in giving honest feedback to the owners, so the areas of improvement would be: 1.) providing a laminated instruction document for troubleshooting the TV/DirecTV 2.) a ledge of some sort in the ginormous master shower so a gal can shave her legs 3.) a call to an exterminator for possible termites (we kept seeing evidence on kitchen counters and in the daybed room).

I would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Nola, and you should consider it, too.

Owner's Response: All houses in NOLA are made of wood and are pretty old, termites are inevitable. The house is being fully treated this month and has been planned this way for some time. This has been an overly successful rental for three years due to the amenities, location, hospitality and personal level that I give to all guests. If there are ever any issues with a stay, I will personally come over to solve anything at anytime. The house was completely renovated to the studs in late 2010.

We truly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home! The location was perfect for our family trip to New Orleans. There were fantastic local restaurants and shops within walking distance, and the heart of the city was only a few minutes away. The homeowner was very helpful and friendly. We had a fantastic trip and hope to return soon! We would definitely stay in this home again!

From the Owner

Really you have got to see the location and experience the locals walking around everyday. The house was renovated completely in 2010 and is top-notch everything. We built this house to start our family and then to one day rent it out full time. It is a charming house for its location.
