About Christine Reeve
We've lived on and off in Hayfield since the 1980s, although now for some time living abroad we make frequent visits back. On arriving, we always feel instantly at home. There is something about the place. Our 3 children, now teenagers, spent their early years in Hayfield, and we all retain very strong ties.
Christine Reeve purchased this House in 1994
Why Christine Reeve chose Hayfield
We had been looking for a family home, and were lucky to find SBC which combined a great location with the possibility to create a home for a growing family. We did a lot of work from top to bottom before it was ready. Our aim was to maximise the space and views whilst retaining its character. We continue to love coming back to the house and have made ongoing improvements a priority. Most recently, we have refitted 2 bathrooms and added an en suite on the top floor.
What makes this House unique
You can't get more central than Spring Bank Cottage, literally a short step from the shops, the restaurants and the pubs This, combined with the exceptional views make it really one of very few large houses which offer both easy access and a spectacular setting. With 3 new bathrooms and superfast wifi Spring Bank Cottage combines location, space and supreme comfort.

The property was perfectly positioned with a wonderful view over the cricket pitch, walks on the doorstop, a delightful village with plenty of eating places and a village shop. The garden with side access was great for storing bicycles as well as sitting out. The house is well equipped and clean, just as described.
Just returned from a weeks stay here. Lovely, well equipped property with a real home from home feel. Plenty of space for all. If you are travelling with children there is a great play ground near the cricket pitch. There is so much to do in the area whatever the weather. Trust me, we were there for the wettest week ever. Would highly recommend a visit.
Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay,
Lovely, spacious house
Had a very pleasant stay at the property, easy check in-out processes. Well maintained garden with a small BBQ. Fantastic bathrooms and kitchen facilities. Level -1 had a strong odour, downstairs in an old house so not sure what can be done about this.
Would definitely recommend and stay again!
Lovely house great views
Everything was so easy and the host was so fast when replying to enquiries.
The house is spacious and has wonderful views. Definitely recommend if travelling to the peaks
We are delighted you enjoyed the house , it’s views, and the village of Hayfield.
Lovely property, lovely area.
The house was perfect for us, 4 adults and 3 children. It was well equipped and had plenty of space for us all, with beautiful views over the village cricket pitch and the hills beyond. Christine responded to all communications very quickly and was very helpful. Hayfield itself is a lovely village, with friendly people, nice places to eat and of course amazing walks on the doorstep. We would definitely stay again if heading to this area.
Lovely house in the Peaks!
This is our third stay in this house and it was as wonderful as ever! The house is spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities you could need and a great view of the village cricket ground. It is perfectly located in beautiful Hayfield, with several pubs, cafes and shops nearby. We particularly loved the Packhorse, which does great food! A short walk from the front door takes you onto the Peaks, where you can do beautiful circular walks around Kinder Reservoir or up in the hills. Christine is very helpful and easy to deal with. I would highly recommend this property!
Hayfield is a thriving village and gateway to the High Peak. It is popular with walkers and cyclists since it is at the foot of Kinder Scout and at the end of the Sett Valley Trail. Within a few miles of interesting villages such as Castleton, Edale, Eyam and small towns such as Buxton and Ashborn. Other local attractions are Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park.
