Alison and Charles Stephens
About Alison and Charles Stephens
We bought the property 33 years ago and built the cabin ourselves out of logs from the property. We peeled them with the old fashioned draw knives. Over the years whether we lived near or far we have always come back with our kids to our cabin and had our summer vacations here. In 2012 we happily moved back to Maine and built a year round house on the same property. We realized that others would enjoy the cabin vacation as well and are happy to offer it for rent.
Alison and Charles Stephens purchased this Cabin in 1982
Why Alison and Charles Stephens chose Blue Hill
We purchased this property because of the size, 50 acres, of it. We have fields and woods and Peters Brook runs through the lower part of the land. We also have two small ponds up near the cabin and our house. There is no fishing in our ponds but there are plenty of places close by for fishing. We like the privacy of living 3/10th of a mile off the main road.
What makes this Cabin unique
The unique nature of this cabin is that it is very private yet only 2 miles from the center of Blue Hill. We are also close to some of the most beautiful coastline in the world, the Blue Hill Peninsula is home to Deer Isle, Stonington and many other beautiful small communities. Great kayaking and hiking and fishing right close by. We are a 45 minute drive to Bar Harbor, home of Acadia National Park, a popular summer attraction. We have 2 swimming ponds on the property and have built a 45 foot labyrinth for walking meditations. Right by the cabin we have a fire pit and firewood is supplied for your enjoyment.

Beautiful Log Cabin in the Woods
We had a lovely time spending a long weekend here. The house is absolutely beautiful. Charles and Allison were great hosts and very responsive.
Wonderful Maine Cabin
This cabin was perfect for our family. It is about 45 minutes to Acadia but secluded. Wonderful place with a classic Maine cabin feel.
A beautiful, quaint cabin in the woods. Perfect for disconnecting with the world
Great rental, easy, straight forward comminicstion
We all had a great time here! The cabin is perfectly equipped to provide comfort and convenience. The outside of the property is beautiful. Mosquitos were really bad so bring TONS of bug spray! I now understand why they call them the state bird!! It was definitely nice to get away and unplug for awhile. Not too long of a drive to Acadia. Made for a perfect little vacation! We will all miss the little cabin in the woods! Thank you for everything!
So glad your family had a great time. The mosquitoes should get better by the end of June. Thanks for cleaning up so well.
We had a fabulous week at Welikit. Beautiful cabin with everything that that you need for a nice, quiet getaway. We traveled to Acadia National Park a couple days and also visited Bar Harbor. We also spent some time fishing the West Branch of the Union River. Thank you for sharing your lovely slice of heaven with us!
