Relaxing Stay on a Beautiful River

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I loved our time on the Weeki Wachi River while staying at Pam's Mermaid House! Clean and comfortable lodging, while being surrounded by colorful unique furnishings. We highly recommend the place and Pam was a wonderful hostess, making sure we had everything we needed and advising us on local things we could do.

We enjoyed the opportunity to prepare breakfast in the outdoor bar area which really worked for us and added to the ambiance of the experience. Just make sure if you plan to stay at this wonderful home that you are aware that there is no formal kitchen. There is a full size fridge and coffee maker in the sun room along with a griddle under cover in the outside bar. Again, this was idea for us, but just make sure significant cooking is not in your plans and you will be beyond satisfied with your stay in this wonderful abode.

We put our kayaks in at the backyard steps and paddled up to the head of the springs 5 miles up river and then back down. What a beautiful river and such a unique experience to launch and complete your paddle at your own lodging. Sitting out by the river before bedtime was so relaxing you could hardly make it to the bed due to being so chilled out.

Again, we can without reservation recommend your stay at Pam's charmingly whimsical lodging on the banks of the Weeki Wachee River!!

Beautiful home & beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay here. Just enough room for our family of four. The home is beautifully decorated inside and out. Our kids loved all of the mermaid decorations. We swam in the crystal clear water and encountered many manatees! We are looking forward to staying here again. Our only regret is that we didn't plan to stay longer. We spent one day kayaking and one day at the water park. We could have spent a whole day at the house just swimming and watching manatees. Having the kayaks onsite was really convenient as well. Can't wait to come back!

Incredible Bucket List Vacation with Amazing Host!!!!

  • 5 of 5

WOW WOW WOW!!!

First let me say that I booked this very last minute and was lucky enough to have the owner/host (Pam) accept an extremely short notice booking - so grateful!!

Pam's generosity, considerate ways and true love of people continued throughout our stay......even baking us a Key Lime Pie. And OHHHHHH MYYYYYYYY......literally like putting a slice of heaven in our mouths!!!! This lady is a true GEM......incredible!!!

Upon early arrival, she showed us around the property and encouraged us to get on the river and start our vacation......with a "toystore" full of floaties that she made available to us!!!! No need to bring anything for the river.......she has it ALL!!!!!

On day one, we jumped in the river and floated a few houses up the river to what my son called "The Fun Spot". This was a large sandbar in a cove area complete with foodboat selling hotdogs, ice cream, etc.........what an absolutely PERFECT start!!!! The water is shallow and the kids played and snorkeled.....and of course enjoyed several visits from the local manatees swimming through!!!

We kayaked & floated up and down the river from morning till dusk! Countless Manatees swimming right beside us........AMAZING!!!!! The water is unbelievably crystal clear.......even more beautiful in person!!!! We snorkeled daily and chased countless bluecrabs.......my son was in heaven!!!

We fished up and down the river........even caught a good sized one that we all enjoyed for dinner one night:)

We very much enjoyed cooking eggs and bacon on the griddle in the morning and eating breakfast at the bar on the patio.......watching the manatees in the river!

Pam even surprised us one morning and started "calling" into the woods......to our surprise, 2 herons came flying out of the woods and onto the property.........also ready for their breakfast, lol!!! WOW, WOW, WOW...........what an amazing opportunity to interact with nature........what an incredible experience!!! Be sure to feed "Little Blue" :)

Pam recommended a local restaurant to visit one evening too........The Cove. Food was fantastic, live music was perfect and my son was over the moon with the turtles he was able to feed from the deck.....another GREAT experience!!!

The property is in the most perfect location and the sea wall makes for perfect docking, snorkeling, swimming!

The real bonus to our visit was the opportunity to have Pam on site......which enabled us to make incredible memories!!!

Cant wait to come back!!!

Great stay at Pam's Mermaid House!

  • 5 of 5

First off Pam is such an awesome lady! The house matches her bright and friendly personality. When we arrived we were greeted by Pam with a tour of the property and some local helpful hints. We say great blue herons, a barred owl and so many manatees just in the backyard! We swam and snorkeled along the seawall, seeing all sorts of fresh and saltwater fish and manatees coming right us! We took the 2 kayaks upstream and swam and hung out at sandbar and tree jump and rope swing. Its simply just beautiful here! We enjoyed just being at the house with such amazing views and character! Highly recommended for anyone looking for an adventure or to relax! Its GORGEUS here! Crystal blue spring water...

Peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Perfect vacation getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Pam was wonderful. Loved the backyard and the steps going into the springs made it an easy access. The manatees were something amazing to see first hand. My new favorite vacation spot for sun and fun.

Fabulous week on the river in a great home

  • 5 of 5

What a great house to spend some relaxing, wind-down time on the river! During the day there was a constant flow of happy people going up and down the river along with manatees, fish and birds. The evenings were very peaceful with owls and frogs and we even heard turkey in the morning. We saw one otter very briefly.

We took out the kayaks several times to explore the area and the weather was perfect.

The house is very comfortable and Pam’s art and decorations are everywhere. Pam welcomed us into the house and showed us everything we needed to know.

We will be back. You can count on it!
