Beautiful and cozy cabin
I will start off with a few cons: upon arriving to the cabin, the code for the lock box did not work for the lock box on the downstairs door. We were unaware there was a second lock box upstairs on the deck. We called evolve and the owner quickly got back to us to resolve this issue. There was also a pile of garbage outside that an animal had gotten into that the cleaning company was supposed to pick up before we checked in. Again, the owner resolved this and had the cleaning company come the next day to pick up the garbage.
The hot tub was one of the reasons we booked this cabin, it functioned perfectly and the cover was easy to manage. The wooden steps were not attached to the ground or the hot tub and moved/rocked while on them which wouldn't be bad but they were covered in a thick layer of ice which made it difficult. I'm not sure if there is a good solution to this since its outside in the elements (under the deck). Also, there were several wads of paper towel or tissue in the hot tub we cleaned out upon first use.
It was a blessing and a curse that there was roughly 3 feet of snow over 3 days during our stay. We had a 4 wheel drive vehicle and had no issue getting up the road to the cabin, however the driveway is pretty long and was not maintained. There were 2 shovels and a small bucket of ice but we would've had to stay in and shovel every hour to keep up with it. That being said, we were only able to park in the driveway during our first day there. We shoveled enough to get the truck off the road into the very end of the driveway.
PROS: The kitchen has everything you may need, the beds were comfortable, the electric fireplace heats up the living room quickly and was so cozy. We used the grill on the deck to make dinner one night. Having a hot tub after a day on the mountain was great. 15min drive from the slopes, 10min to main street for lots of food, drinks and shopping. The cabin was clean, and laundry available. There were lots of board games/video games and things to keep you entertained on a night in.
Miranda, we're glad you enjoyed your stay overall! The homeowner would like to pass along the following message:
"Miranda, we very much appreciate your review and are pleased that you enjoyed our cozy cabin.
You are correct; the epic snow that we received during your stay was both a blessing and a curse. Great snow for skiing, but terrible for service providers - namely the cleaners and snow plow guy. We've had the same snowplow provider for 15 years, but during your stay and Breck's record snowfall he quit. Before each rental, I reach out to the cleaners and snow plow guy to ensure the house is ready. After several unreturned calls and emails, our snow plow provider said he could not get to the house, and he quit. He just up and quit; he said there was too much snow. Imagine that - too much snow for the snow plow guy. I believe he quit on the last day of your stay. It took me 2-3 days to engage another plow provider. Our cleaning professionals do an excellent job for us, but due to the snowfall, the cleaners were delayed by a day getting back up to the house to pick up the trash. This was unfortunate, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
With respect to the paper towels in the hot tub, I have no idea why the previous renters would have paper towels in the hot tub. It makes no sense. Unfortunately, not all renters treat our home as they would treat their own. Going forward, the cleaners will be sure to lift the cover of the tub during the cleaning process to ensure the tub is ready for the next renter.
We were unaware that the steps into the hot tub were an issue. This has now been resolved.
Thank you again for the feedback. We want every renter's experience to be positive!"

Beautiful, comfortable house with AMAZING views and accommodating hosts
The cabin is so cozy and comfortable. There are TV’s, DVD’s, games down stairs, plenty of room for everybody. The outside was overall my favorite aspect. The house is in the woods with trees and snow surrounding you, in the morning we woke up to a mom moose and baby moose and at night we sat in the hot tub and enjoyed the amazing scenery. Also, it is very close to town and there is Uber access. One thing that I would recommend is bringing drinking water because there was mineral build up in the water (which was fine, unless you’re picky) and you most DEFINITELY have to have 4 wheel drive to access the property. Overall, we will always come back to this property and it was definitely a 10/10 without hesitation.
Great private home close to downtown, but secluded in the woods.
The House was perfect for our family of 5 with lots of extra room. The House was clean and the beds were comfortable. We cooked most of our meals at the house, the kitchen is well stocked. It’s less then a ten minute drive to town. We parked at the ice rink and used the towns free shuttle to get around. The house is a great home base to unwind after a day outside. We hope to return again in the future!
Breckenridge is great, the house was somewhat of a disappointment
The house was kind of a disappointment. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, the tv in the bedroom didn’t work, the DVD player wouldn’t read any discs. There are cobwebs around the house on the ceiling and light fixtures and there were some dead insects inside. The house is pretty dated and needs updating. It’s pretty basic and we enjoyed our stay in Breckenridge despite the other stuff. However, when you’re out all day and come back to relax it’s really unfortunate to not be able to access those things.
The homeowner was prompt and called the cable/internet provider however, we didn’t have a long stay and didn’t want to spend time on the phone with Comcast resolving the issue.
Rachel, we have shared your comments with the homeowner who requested to respond with the following:
"We thank you for your recent review and for being a guest at our Breckenridge home.
You are correct that the internet was not up and running. We have occasional power outages in the area, which can impact the internet service. When this occurs, we sometimes have to call the internet provider to reset the system. Often the reset must occur while someone is inside the house. As a renter on vacation, I completely understand that you did not want to deal with the internet provider. The renter following you did call the provider with me on the line and the issue was resolved in 5 minutes. Although this was a quick fix, you were not unreasonable to expect the internet to be working upon her arrival.
The TV in the back bedroom was working and continues to work just fine. There are two remotes to the TV: 1 for the cable and 1 for the TV. The TV must be on channel 3 for the cable to work, which it was not. As soon as the channel was changed to channel 3 the cable worked fine and the picture appeared on the TV.
With respect to the DVD player, we have had back-to-back rentals all summer and this is the first we've learned that the DVD player is not working. We will look into this immediately.
We have spoken with our cleaning service regarding the cob web and have been assured that they will take greater care in the cleaning process.
We thank you again for your review and wish you all the best."
The homeowner prioritizes the guest experience, and we are confident this cabin will continue to host many satisfied guests! Best, the Evolve Team
The only thing I would add is to cut down more tree for a better view.
Slightly dated but had everything we needed!
Arrival was made very easy and house was clean upon our arrival. No wood burning fireplace but nice electric ones on each level. Kitchen was fully equipped for us to make a lot of meals for 8 people. Slightly dated and the deck appeared to be in need of repair from the harsh Breckenridge weather. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive to get to the cabin any time there is snow on the ground! Steep hills and shaded roads don’t allow for much snow melting even if the roads are clear in town.
