About Dee D.

This is My Story... During the first several months upon relocating to Hawaii, I met an old Native Hawaiian living along Ka’a’awa’s beautiful coastline. He asked what brought me to Hawaii, and without even giving it a thought; I replied something to the effect about job transfer. He slowly rubbed his chin and nodded showing his disagreement and then humbly responded in a soft voice, “You were brought here to heal…” Little did I know at that moment, but healing was the one thing I truly needed in my life, and slowly over several years this beautiful stretch of coastline and the warm waters of Ka'a'awa has 'healed me'. To this day I recall the profound truth in Joe’s statement so many years ago…“You were brought here to heal”. It is amazing what the warm tranquil waters and the soft sands of Ka’a’awa can do… My move to Hawaii is just but one chapter in my Journey. I would love the opportunity to share the Secrets and Aloha of my small piece of Heaven as you travel along 'Your Life's Journey...'

Perfect getaway from the hustle of Honolulu

The house was everything we hoped for! Thank you Dee for welcoming us into your beautiful home. This is the perfect house for anyone looking to feel what I believe is the true Hawaii. Very quiet neighborhood (except the roosters in the AM, lol). Dee provides all sorts of beach gear and there are so many beaches to visit between here and the north shore. It only takes an hour max to get pretty much anywhere on the island.

We definitely were not ready to end our time in Hawaii, but we are already discussing when we will visit again. When we do, we sure hope we can stay at Dee's again.

Home away from home

My family (husband, in-laws, sister-in-law, mother and sister) and I went to Oahu in October. There were 7 of us and we all fit comfortably. It was a nice place to retire after our daily adventures. The place is exactly as it is advertised. It was clean. The toilet seat was a little worn but functional. There is a master bedroom with an en suite. And two other good sized bedrooms. The beds were comfortable. We used the futon to sleep in the living room and were comfortable. We had enough provisions for a whole week. We received welcoming gifts on the day we arrived. Dee provided cookware, silverware, flatware and condiments for the kitchen. We cooked breakfast everyday and cooked dinner there once. The security light wasn't working and it was quickly fixed the same day. It was important to us because we would arrive later in the night, (not too late) but it's already dark and there are stairs. She also provided snorkeling gears, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella, etc. We were kept cool by the ceiling fans. There was a working washer and dryer that we used and took advantage of. There's also games and board games in case you want to stay in. We were very comfortable. The walk to the beach was about 5 minutes. There's a 7-11 nearby and Uncle Bobo's BBQ, there's also a chinese restaurant - Coral near by. If we didn't have so many activities planned, it would have been nice to just relax in the house or lay out in the sun in the yard. Dee said hi our 2nd day I think and came by to say bye on our last day. Best part was the welcoming dog Lily. I'm not sure whose dog she was but it was very nice. She came our 2nd day there and welcomed us and gave us kisses! Mahalo Dee!!!

The property was even more user friendly than advertised! We arrived a little after the check in time and the house was in perfect ready to relax condition. Dee D was a gracious host and let it be known that she was around if we had any questions or problems. The house is well kept and supplied for most of the basic day to day needs with a fabulously appointed kitchen. We will definitely consider this place on our next trip! Thanks a million to our amazing host Dee rock!!

Good family home on Oahu

  • 3 of 5

Three generations stayed in this family home and enjoyed it as a base to explore Oahu. It was close to golden sandy beaches for kids to swim. The house was well equipped, and we liked sitting on the deck of an early evening. Wifi worked well and the sports channel was appreciated by teenagers. It was a good base for a day trip to Pearl Harbor, and another one to Lanakai Beach and Diamond Head. Dee was quick to respond and fix when we had a problem. We stayed here in July 2016. It rained at night and was clear and sunny each day.

The vacation was great! The home was clean and very comfortable! It was fully equipped with all the kitchen and bathroom amenities needed. Dee was always very responsive to contact and we were even able to extend our stay by a couple of days. We have already recommended the home to a friend.
