About the Owner
About Vacasa, WA - San Juans / Puget Sound Office
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wifes family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Agate Beach Retreat
I lived on the south end of Lopez Island for five years in the late 90's. This place totally fit the bill for a comfortable stay with a group of college friends. It is close to some of my favorite outdoor haunts, spectacular scenery, nicely appointed with comfortable beds and a great kitchen stocked with any appliance you could possibly need.
I hope to return again soon!
Worst Experience Ever
This was booked and paid for and we were never able to access the property. Vacasa gave me the wrong key code and they do not answer their phones OR return calls. No live people for customer service, even in an emergency. We were stranded on a remote island waited for hours and hours and had to take a ferry back home. Food was spoiled, children cried. I will tell everyone I meet never to rent with Vacasa. I am sure most of the time things work out but if you have ANY problem you are in big trouble. Words can not even begin to describe this nightmare. Hours of driving there and hours of driving back with 3 young children and my senior mom. Vacasa returned my phone call later that night and it took weeks to resolve. My rental fee was returned but I will never ever forget how badly I was screwed by this company. Ever. I see now that Vacasa's listings are under the vrbo umbrella but are still Vacasa properties. You have been warned.
Old but comfortable
The accommodations are old but comfortable with a great kitchen for cooking. Not a lot happening on Lopez in the winter but our goal was to get away and the cabin is isolated enough to make that easy. Iceberg point is beautiful and an easy walk. In warmer weather kayaking and biking would be great. Over all a great base for outdoor activities and I would definitely stay there again.
Great location and very cozy
We stayed here for a late fall weekend and had a great time. The view of the Sound was beautiful. We enjoyed watched bald eagles, herons and the occasional seal from our front window. The kitchen had everything we could need and there was plenty of books and movies to keep us entertained on the rainy day. The only negative was during a very windy night the roof/siding rattles quite loudly which could be a challenge for a light sleeper. Overall we had a great, relaxing stay.
