About Gabe Ferrer
In 2002, Gabe and Marisol Ferrer came to Colorado to spend time with their new grandkids in Denver. They built this beautiful home to spend time with their fast growing family. In stark contrast to their native homes of Cuba and Puerto Rico, Gabe and Marisol quickly learned to drive in the snow, dress for the climate, and hike like they were from the mountains. Marisol, nearing retirement, was able to express herself through designing the layout, furnishings, and landscaping of the cabin you will soon enjoy. Now they share their time in Colorado, with their other grandchildren in Arkansas, and with their family in South Florida. For ease of communication with our foreign or domestic guests that wish to communicate in French or Spanish, Marisol speaks, in addition to English, French and Spanish. Gabe speaks English and Spanish.

Why Gabe Ferrer chose Idaho Springs
This property is less than an hour's drive from Denver, yet it is set at 10,000 feet above sea level. It is a peaceful location that invokes creativity and peace to all who stay there.
What makes this Cabin unique
This is a large home that can sleep eight very comfortably. It is set in a high alpine area. The many windows bring the mountains to you. If you like music, there are speakers on the outside deck, in the master bathroom, as well as in the great room. There are wild raspberries growing alongside the road which are fun to pick and eat when in their season. The lot adjacent and also below are also part of the property and are fun to explore.

A very nice cabin with amazing views
Loved our experience here. Cabin is beautifully designed and decorated with wood panels and large windows to enjoy the view. Loved the large deck and great room. Gabe was very accommodating in allowing us in early to dress for our nephews wedding. Highly recommend
We had such a great week at the cabin. Location was perfect, and you just can’t beat the views. Hiking St Mary’s glacier was one of our highlights, and it was so close. The other thing we’ll never forget is the moose that walked through the front yard on our first day. The house was very comfortable for our party of 6. The kids loved the bunk beds and the upstairs loft. It had every necessity you could think of. The owner was also great with corresponding. The only “concern” we had was the driveway... it is steep! Took us a few times to get up the first day with our minivan, but by the end of the week we definitely got the hang of it. Just can’t imagine having anything other than a 4 wheel drive vehicle if there was any amount of snow or ice. But dealing with the rough roads and driveway was more than worth it to get to this place! I would strongly recommend it for a great vacation!
The home, the view, everything is perfect! It is difficultto leave!
The cabin was amazing! It was everything we wanted and an absolutely beautiful view.
Very charming and cozy cabin. It had everything we needed and I loved the decor. We especially enjoyed the fireplace in the bedroom. It was very quiet with such breathtaking views. The owners were very nice and easy to get in contact with. I've stayed in many cabins across Colorado and this was by far my favorite. Bonus, if you have kids there are tons of toys and such for them to play with.
Beautiful cabin, Beautiful View and happily Beautiful weather. My children and grandchildren and myself had a wonderful time in Idaho Springs. Hiked St. Mary's and the boys had a ball at the Colorado Adventure Park. All the little extras at the cabin were so appreciated. Thanks again
St Mary's Glacier, the southernmost glacier in the United States is about 1 mile from the cabin.
It's a 3/4 mile hike which ends at the base of the glacier which empties into a lake. Beautiful area.
