My daughter and I wanted a beach that allowed dogs and we heard Cape San Blas is really nice -it is! We were thrilled to have a week at Cape Sunset. The home is clean and comfy and the owner is very helpful and made our stay extra easy and fun. The top floor gives a great view of both the ocean and the bay. I highly recommend this rental to anyone that wants to relax and unwind with family , friends, and pets!

Comfortable accommodations in great beach country

  • 5 of 5

The house is in a perfect setting located centrally on the Cape. We really enjoyed the fire pit area and the balconies day and night. The walk to the very private beach is 5 minutes or so. Since we go to the beach for the day with all the gear and toys we often drove to public beach access 5 blocks away.

The house and furnishing were great-spotless, comfortable and well appointed in all areas, complete with all sorts of gear to enjoy the offerings of the area. You can tell the owners love to spend time there by how well equipped their home is.

Property management folks were great to work with and even made 2 house calls over the tv/internet problems.

Highly recommend property, thanks for sharing your home!

More than I ever expected

  • 5 of 5

First of all, let me say, the owner of this property went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She helped our friends find last second, reasonably priced, accommodations when their camping plans fell through. She also helped us with recommendations for activities, dining suggestions and answered any questions we had. She not only checked up on us throughout the week to make sure things were going well, she contacted us before our arrival and after our departure (to make sure all went well). She was very responsive to any need or concern we had.

The first thing that surprised me was the cleanliness of the house. Most homes, at least the ones I’ve stayed in, have not been as clean as this house was when we arrived. It was a great first impression. The home also had a well-stocked kitchen, which is important to us as we prefer to prepare the majority of our meals while on vacation. It also had a wide range of beach toys, bikes, kayaks, chairs and a grill. We loved the top floor balcony as it was a great place to watch the sun set, drink morning coffee, and gaze at the stars. One night we even watched an amazing lightning storm roll in. The frequency of the lightning was incredible. The weather during the week we were there was perfect. One of our concerns was the distance to the beach from this home. However, this concern was unfounded as we could easily bike the entire family to the nearby access. The location of the home split the distance between ocean and bay access. My second surprise was how interesting the bay was. We thoroughly enjoyed going out on the kayaks to find all sorts of wild life; stingrays, urchins, porpoises, various birds, whelks and even a shark! The only downside to our visit is we did not have time to explore the cape to our satisfaction. We didn’t really get to snorkel in the bay, which we were looking forward to, and that the wilderness portion of St. Joseph Peninsula State Park was closed due to prescribed burning during our visit. However, this just fuels our excitement for the next trip to Cape San Blas. I think this home is a perfect launching spot for adventure on the cape and the owner an excellent guide that cares for her guests. I would recommend this home to anybody that doesn’t need handicap access. I anxiously await our return to Cape San Blas and the Port St Joe area!

This was our first trip to Cape San Blas and won't be our last! It is remote but exactly what we were looking for. We loved that the house and beach were dog friendly. Jennifer, the homeowner, was super communicative, and the rental agency was responsive. Cape Sunset is well stocked, with options for play both inside and out. We were there during a week of storms (really bad timing in that regard), but our 11 and 9 year old sons had plenty of games to keep them occupied, and we made quick trips to the beach and park during breaks in the rain (and even some in the rain!), so it all worked out beautifully! Shower and hoses below the home to wash off the sand were unexpectedly helpful. Nearby dining options are limited, so do be sure to come with plenty of groceries. All in all, Cape Sunset is a wonderful spot for families with kids and dogs! Such a treat to be able to take our boys, human and canine! :)

Awesome beach house!!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Cape Sunset very much. We have been going to the Cape San Blas area each summer since 2005 and I would have to say that this is by far one of the best houses we've had the pleasure of staying in. Cape Sunset has been well stocked with everything imaginable to make a vacation fun. Great attention to detail has been given to provide so many "extras" that most rental properties do not include. The location with private access points to both the gulf and the bay is excellent. We especially enjoyed the kayaks available for our use and the park pass. The house is nicely furnished and has a very welcoming appeal. Not only was it "as advertised" was even better! The owner, Jenn is super friendly, pleasant to communicate with and also geniunely interested in assuring that the stay at Cape Sunset provides the best experience possible. I would highly recommend Cape Sunset.

If you're looking for a great beach house in Cape San Blas, don't look any farther. This wonderful home is perfect for fun in the sun with views not only of the beach, sunset & ocean but of the morning sunrise as well. It is well appointed with everything you need to have a great and relaxing vacation. Jennifer the owner is a joy to work with and has kept the house in great shape. We had a great time with our 2 golden retrievers and would highly recommend Cape Sunset!
