Great week in the keys
Great stay. Lovely home.
Love, love, love Conch Key, it is our 10th year.
Beautiful still, even post hurricane.
We had an amazing family vacation. The house was gorgeous and well kept. The pictures only show a piece of how beautiful this home and grounds are. We spent hours fishing off the many docks, saw nurse sharks, manatees, various birds, iguanas, and so so many different types of fish. The paddle boards and kayaks were an amazing addition. Sherry was very responsive to questions we had and even went the extra step to make sure we knew about local events. We cannot wait to go back and would absolutely stay here again.
Needs maintenance...big time
The pool has a major leak in it. Every morning we had to come out and put the hose in it to fill it up so before we could use it...and it was gross the whole time since the pumps weren’t properly functioning...the property manager’s solution was for us to just keep the hose in it full time during our stay and she sent her assistant over periodically to dump a couple gallons of chlorinated liquid in it...not exactly an inviting set up...ants everywhere in the kitchen...leak in one bathroom faucet and clogged sinks in two other baths...couches are tattered and torn with broken springs in the seats...handrail down to the pool fell off...candy left in bedroom drawers from previous renters...layers of dust everywhere...paint peeling on the ceilings...critters everywhere outside...etc...not at all what we expected for what we paid to stay here...the property manager is polite and apologetic but nothing was actually fixed 100% during our stay so it was very very frustrating...we literally uncovered new issues everyday...and it’s a shame too because the home is beautiful with tons of potential if they would just take care of it...property manager promised a partial refund after sending her pictures of the issues...we will wait to see what happens.
Thanks for staying with us for the second year in a row Angela. You are correct, we do have a leak in the pool, we did find that it is underneath the cement pillar, of course, otherwise it would be an easy fix. We do keep the hose in there with a timer on it, to get everyone through the summer before we have to tear up the pool deck. Maria, and Marino check the pool daily to make sure all is well. We do have another larger pool on our property that overlooks the Atlantic also. We offered you use of that, if you were bothered by the water running in yours. I am sure as a property manager in Florida also, you are aware, that the battle with ants is ongoing. We don't welcome them into our home, but they visit anyway. We do have an exterminator that sprays twice per month, but a little kitchen cleaning daily will help prevent an invasion as they are surely opportunists.
Spending time outside in the Florida Keys is priceless, the amazing things you will see and do are endless. Please don't spend your time "uncovering issues daily" while you are here, you will surely find a loose screw in a dresser, or a door that sticks, or a non stick pan that has scratches. Don't let the fact that you saw a towel bar that needs remounting ruin your vacation.... then you have missed the manatee, and the dolphins, and the iguanas chasing each other around the island, and the incredible sunsets, and sunrises.
The island is an amazing place, and the homes are beautiful, I wish you had spent more time enjoying the Florida Keys and your getaway from your business. If you get back to the Keys again, and find your perfect home, relax, and enjoy.
We had such a great time! Sherry was an awesome property manager and guided us through the rental process. We knew what to expect and it still exceeded our expectations. We had 25+ people and rented the entire island for an unforgettable vacation! We all agree that we want to go back asap!!
