Overview

Property Details

Updated: Jul 26, 2016
1 Bedroom, !.5 Bath, Two-Story Custom House, City and Bay Views, Quiet, Privacy

Located on sunny Potrero Hill, this two-story, stand-alone custom house combines luxurious living with a convenient location and spectacular views.

The owners live next door.

The house was built in 2000. It has 1 bedroom and 1.5 baths and sleeps 2-4 people. It is fully furnished with designer built-ins throughout. The rental is a stand-alone two-story house.

You will be welcomed with a complimentary bottle of California wine, seasonal fruit and flowers from our organic garden, and a selection of gourmet coffees.

Upstairs, you will find an open plan living/dining/cooking area with vaulted ceilings, wood paneling, a cozy wood burning stove, powder room, balcony, and wide city and bay views.

The gourmet kitchen includes a glass top stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and large refrigerator/freezer. All countertops are granite. There is also a granite table in the dining area.

The living area has a comfortable reclining window seat, futon sofa bed, and a 40 inch flat screen 'smart' TV with cable. It opens onto a balcony with panoramic San Francisco skyline and views of SF Bay, the Bay Bridge, Oakland, Berkeley, and the East Bay hills. The balcony also overlooks our large garden where you can watch hawks, humming birds, migrating song birds, and even the famous San Francisco Parrots.

The downstairs master suite has a queen bed, with garden, and East Bay views, and a full bathroom ensuite (including large granite counters and a view from the shower). Closet and drawer space are ample. The owners provide hand soap and shampoo as well as all towels and bedding.

The house is tiled throughout. There is access to a private shared garden filled with fruit trees, native plants, roses, herbs, and other flowers.

Convenient drive or walk to gourmet and natural grocery stores (Good Life and Whole Foods markets), restaurants, coffee shops, clothing shops and Christopher's (our terrific, neighborhood independent book store).

It is a 10 min drive to SF's two most renowned farmer's markets featuring local organic produce, meats, seafood, and crafts. We are also 10 minutes from the historic Mission District. It is 5 minute drive to UCSF Mission Bay, SF Design Center, ATT Baseball Park (Home to 2010/12/14 World Champion SF Giants!) and a 15 minute drive to SFO.

Plentiful street parking is available (with off-street parking also available for an extra fee) and there is a bus stop across the street for easy access to San Francisco's attractions.

The rental offers a high efficiency washer/dryer in the garage, high speed wireless internet and flat screen TVs upstairs and down with cable, and telephone with free local service.

No pets and non-smoking.

Always a Pleasure

  • 4 of 5

This is the second time we stayed here and it all works so well for us. The two levels, the view and the convenient location to our kids near The General. The unit is very clean and well maintained and enough for just the two of us. I am sure we will stay here again.

Comfortable place, excellent views, all you need to work or play in San Francisco.

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed twice in this condo on Potrero Hill in San Francisco. It's quite comfortable, on two levels with generous storage in bedroom and bath, a full kitchen with adequate pots, pans dishes and utensils, pleasant living-dining room and a lovely deck with views of the bay and all of San Francisco. Washer-dryer is nearby, in the garage; parking is on a flat place at the end of 19th St. We loved it. The only drawback is its cost, which increased significantly in the 6 months between our visits.

We loved being close to restaurants and ate at several of them. We liked being close to family and able to walk to see a new granddaughter.

Loved our stay here....very clean, comfortable, and the views of the city are incredible! It was the perfect base from which to explore the city. I'd recommend to any out-of-towners hoping to get a real San Francisco experience.

Ideal for our Needs

  • 5 of 5

It is always great to visit with family but we find it also necessary to have some quiet time to begin and start each day. With our daughter and her family just six blocks away, this home was perfect for our needs. The location provides a fabulous view of the downtown area and Bay Bridge from the deck and the same enchanting views from the living area. The two levels of the home meant that I could get up early (still on east coast time) and do my thing without disturbing my husband. The kitchen was plenty big enough for the two of us and beautifully renovated with many items useful for meal preparation - although we didn't because there are no many great restaurants nearby. Also very nearby is a Whole Foods and another neighborhood market. The home was very clean although not suited for small children as there are lots of things (books and glassware) on low shelves. Will definitely look to stay here again.

From the Owner

When we moved back into my wife's home, we built the rental house for parents, family and friends. It was custom designed to take advantage of the views and to make guests comfortable and happy. Now we have decided to open the house for others to enjoy as well.

Amenities

From the Owner

Potrero Hill is our home. We enjoy the quiet, the warmest weather in SF, the instant access to freeways and public transit, the proximity to Downtown, the Embarcadero, and the Mission District, and the many parks and gardens (some with panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin, and NW SF). The Hill offers a wide array of local independent shops and gourmet restaurants, all minutes from our home.
