second floor apartment, double glass windows, king size bed, very fast internet
- english, french
Thank you for your interest in my profile. I have the Dutch and the French nationality and I came to Paris to work in 1981. With my husband and two children, I have been living in the neighborhood of Montparnasse for many years now and I still enjoy every minute of it. Now that my children are studying, I have time to take care of the rental and the guests. It is great to receive visitors from all over the world.
Elisabeth purchased this Apartment in 2016
Why Elisabeth chose Plaisance
The building in which the apartment is situated was built by the great-grandfather of my husband in 1911. The great-grandmother said to the great-grandfather: "But why are you building in the country side?" as there were just farms, cows and chicken around. The building was finished after WWI when the apartment was let to Mr and Mrs Robbe-Grillet. They were the parents of Alain Robbe-Grillet, the famous French novelist and filmmaker. Until recently, his sister Anne-Lise rented the apartment.
What makes this Apartment unique
The area around the apartment is quiet and safe but lively at the same time. The Rue Daguerre is, as so many guests mention, an oasis of food shops, restaurants and sidewalk cafes. I live in the same building as the apartment and I am always available to give information and help if needed.

14th Arrondisement Paradise
Impeccable apartment and a great jumping off point for adventures in Paris, Versailles and Rambouillet. My wife and I stayed here as a base of operations for my participation in Paris-Brest-Paris because it is a short walk to the Gare Montparnasse, a major Paris train station. The neighborhood itself was a lovely walking neighborhood with plenty of food shops, restaurants, bakeries and other conveniences close by. The Catacombs, Montparnasse Tower and the cemetery are attractions within walking distance and there are three major Metro stations within blocks of the apartment for easy access to the rest of the city so you can avoid using a car with ease.
The apartment itself was a joy to return to after long days of exploring. Quiet side street right off of the Rue Daguerre. Comfortable beds made for good sleep. Elisabeth and her husband live in the same building and would check in on you without being nosy. At the end of our trip, Elisabeth arranged for our taxi departure and saw us off with a friendly wave and goodbye. Excellent hosts.
The apartment is as advertised. Even though there is only one bathroom (very typical for a Parisian apartment) the water closet is in its own room separate from the sink and shower so it allowed for you to work in tandem with your fellow travelers so that you did not feel cramped. Great water pressure and instant heat in the shower.
You are provided linens and blankets for the beds and towels in the bathroom. All very good quality. Don't forget to bring your own shampoos and soaps, though. (If you do forget, there is a Carrefour City one block away for all of your supply needs.)
One observation. When you first arrive, you get a code to enter. The hallway and stairwell were dark which was initially unsettling. After meeting with Elisabeth, we learned that those lights have an energy saving feature where they shut off after a time. There is a button in the hall and at the top and bottom of the one flight staircase to activate them. Once we figured this out, there was no problem. Hit the buttons and everything is well lit. It is a one story walk up to the apartment.
Perfect Parisian Apartment
We are two couples who shared Elisabeth's lovely apartment in Montparnasse during the late June heat wave. The air conditioning was wonderful and the apartment had everything we needed. It was just as it was described and all the reviews here are right on point. We would definitely stay here again.
Apartment very conveniently located
Nice apartment conveniently located close to stores and eating places. Train station within walking distance, however we used Uber our entire stay as it was more convenient for us.
Elisabeth was very helpful and easy to contact.
Exsqusite Stay in the Apartment
The apartment is absolutely perfect! So impeccably clean, beautifully appointed, the furniture is to be appreciated, and the quality of housewares (towels, linens, dishes, glasses, etc.) are of much superior quality. The apartment is extremely comfortable, the beds and pillows were heavenly, and the apartment offers a quiet and restful sleep. Very well stocked with first rate supplies for guests. The apartment is nicely situated and close to metros so we traveled with ease to any part of the city within minutes. In addition, the community is very nice, less crowded with numerous restaurants, and the large market around the corner from the apartment is amazing. Elisabeth is extraordinarily helpful and was exceedingly kind to us during our stay. She is fluent in English, and assisted us with our French when speaking with a taxi driver. She even accepted our invitation to come and have a glass of wine with us one evening and our conversation was lovely. We are tremendously grateful and blessed for the opportunity to have met Elisabeth and stay in her apartment. If we return to Paris, we would no hesitate to contact Elisabeth to book our stay.
The apartment was everything it was advertised to be. Our host, Elisabeth was amazing.
We are a family of 3 so the apartment was a great size. The location is great in regards to a quite neighborhood at night. But, around the corner are restaurants, shops and bars (and pharmacy!) for all your needs.
Our daughter came down with a nasty cold while traveling in London, prior to our stay with Elisabeth. It became apparent our child needed medical attention. Elisabeth coordinated everything including help with prescription being filled. A huge help to say the least.
We will definitely stay at the apartment again.
Great apartment with everything you need to be comfortable. Kitchen better than most Paris apartments. Loved the neighborhood as not in a touristy area. Very convenient to metro and train.
The apartment is situated near the metro and RER station Denfert Rochereau. It is a direct line from Gare du Nord if you are travelling by Eurostar or by Thalys.
If you are travelling by plane, there is a direct RER rail link from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and a direct bus from Orly airport.
The railway station Montparnasse is also nearby if you are coming from the west or from the south-west of France or if you wish to go further afield to Chartres.
Paris itself, not including the suburbs, is relatively small and from the apartment - as I have already mentioned - you can reach most major tourist attractions in less than half an hour. The nearest metro stations are Denfert Rochereau and Gaîté. Denfert Rochereau is 550 m away and about a 6 minutes walk, Gaîté is 650 m away and about 7 minutes by foot.
Euro Disney is easily reached by RER B and A or by car (motorway A4).
