Beautiful home and very accommodating owners
This house is just gorgeous. It is spacious, beautifully decorated and the owners are delightful and very helpful. Although I was surprised by no AC (I didn't read the description very well) I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovey home and the owner's great hospitality. Wonderful stay! Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!
Relaxing Hawaii Stay
This property was well appointed, nicely decorated and well maintained. Colleen was a very accommodating hostess except that she was hospitalized immediately prior to our stay and unable to greet us personally.
The unit was quiet, even when the studio below us was occupied. The view from the balcony helped us sense the spirit of aloha.
It’s definitely worth an encore stay for our next trip to Big Island.
WOW! Old Hawaiian Feel with a Modern Swag
I have stayed in many rentals over the years and have to say - this is one went to the top of the list. First of all the rental is in Kona Palisades which is a beautiful local neighborhood in Kailua-Kona. I normally try to stay in a rental with a neighborhood feel because it really gives you the sense of culture and what it must be like living on the Big Island. The house is just beautiful not to mention immaculate. The artwork in the home is just amazing and really gives you the feel of being in Hawaii when you are inside the rental. The views from the Lanai are just amazing . Because you are up in the Palisades the view overlooking the Ocean is stunning. Kitchen had all very modern equipment and had everything we needed to cook in when we wanted. Bedrooms and Bathrooms were just beautiful, I mean really - I loved this rental. Lush surroundings overlooking the Pacific Ocean in a modern artfully decorated home - I mean what's not to love. Also the best benefit to me is that you do not need any air condition because of being up in the hills - fresh cool air all night long and when coming back from a hot beach the breeze on the Lanai and in the home is just what is needed. Can' t really say enough about this place. And to top all this off - it's very close to, in my opinion, one of the best Kona Coffee Plantations - Mountain Thunder!
Beautiful decor and Hawaiian anbience
Beautifully appointed property. Larger than the pics and so much ambience. I could just sit on the porch with my wine--enjoy ocean view and breezes. Fans galore thru the house. Every thing you could want with extra beach towels and kitchen items. Not far from village Kona-had tasty dinner at Kona Inn. I loved this property! :)
Beautiful home, view. Despite having to drive to Kona and beach
What a place!
This vacation rental is an absolute dream. We felt this the moment we stepped in, as the overwhelming sentiment might have been the dread of having to leave it at the end. It’s beautiful, comfortable, sturdy, practical and nicely laid out. And very clean. We had inquired about the lack of air conditioning, but none was required as it never got hot in the house : we always slept with the windows shut, and the ceiling fan was always sufficient to keep the room to proper sleeping temperature. The friendly owners make available a bunch of stuff, like beach chairs and towels (that we used), as well as boogie boards and coolers (a nice touch). As for location, well, it was perfect for us: in the cool hills of Hualalai, but a short distance to town and services. Anything negative to say? Well, no. Be aware though the BBQ grill is of the classic charcoal type, somewhat less practical then the gas type.
So a great vacation for us, in good part because of this fantastic house. Thanks to Coleen and Gary.
Thank-you Pierre for your lovely review. Enjoyed hosting you and your wife.
