We loved staying at the Luna Mesa casita. There are so many wonderful touches at the casita. You can tell Rhonda & Dennis value their guests comfort. It is very clean & comfortable. The views from the property are amazing. Plus it’s a short drive from the entrance to Mesa Verde. The hot tub provides relief after a day of driving or hiking. We would highly recommend the casita. We are planning to visit again.
Our Luna Mesa property is our joy to share and was designed to provide a special relaxing memorable experience. After exploring Mesa Verde National Park and all the beautiful amazing sites in our southwest Colorado area, we love that our guests feel our Moon Dancer Casita is their home away from home with a soothing Hot Tub soak to finish their day. We are always happy to help with suggestions to make the most of your vacation. Getting to know you and what you hope to enjoy while in our area helps us steer you toward lots of memory making FUN! We can't wait to have you back for more good times!
Excellent attention to detail and quality
We wholeheartedly enjoyed our stay at the Luna Mesa Moon Dancer casita.
The attention to detail and quality is high - from the unique construction and design of the casita to its furnishings and decorations. For travelers who actually use a kitchen, we appreciated the quality of the kitchenware and little touches such as a supply of sandwich bags.
The location can’t be beat. It’s on the doorstep of Mesa Verde National Park which made for easy exploring of the park as well forays to other four corner's sites. The setting itself is calm and peaceful and quiet.
The loft was unique. It felt like being in a tree house. We opened the windows at the head of the bed, smelled the high desert after a brief rain shower, and turned to gaze upon the bright stars... and relaxed.
If in the area again we would be disappointed if we couldn’t stay at the casita.
We are honored when we can provide a special experience that creates memories for our guests when staying with us at Luna Mesa. Your description of your stay highlights all the hopes we have of giving you a relaxing place to rest after exploring our beautiful land of the ancient Puebloan people. Sharing our Luna Mesa with all that can delight your senses and give peace in our high desert and mountain region is our creative intention and we thank you for your appreciation. Friends, we look forward to your future visits with us at Luna Mesa! Happy Travels!
Luna Mesa is a special place
Adjacent to the main house, the separate property has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Rhonda and Dennis are very caring hosts who really want their guests to have a good experience. Their communication is exceptional. It is an easy drive into Mesa Verde park and near to Cortez, Mancos and Durango. Timing a visit when the garden lavender is in bloom is a plus.
We are very happy to be helpful with your visit to Mesa Verde National Park. Our next-door location to the park creates a very special opportunity to feel closer to the ancient Puebloan people and the special spirit of our Luna Mesa location is to be shared. Our hot tub gardens with the sage and lavender blooming is another special sensation to experience after exploring the Park and we are happy to provide the experience. We look forward to having you back to experience more of our Southwest Colorado area and enjoy evenings on the veranda with us again!
Beautiful place to stay near mesa Verde
The mesa luna was a lovely cozy experience. The owners were so friendly and gave us useful information about some of the amazing site's near by. My sister celebrated her birthday there and the owner even made her yummy cupcakes and gave her a card. The house is clean and comfortable with all one may need. I feel grateful to have stayed there..we loved the hot tub and garden.
We are happy to be able to help create special celebration memories at our Luna Mesa. Our gardens and hot tub are gifts after a fun day of explorations in Mesa Verde National Park and the mountains. When we can add a little extra surprise like cupcakes for your birthday it makes us happy too! We hope you'll return for more celebration and memory making!
Great location, amazing details
This was a perfect home-away-from-home as we explored Mesa Verde National Park and local communities. The only problem was that it was hard to tear ourselves away from the perfect casita to explore the park! I will never forget relaxing on the sofa with a book with a view to Mesa Verde as rain fell gently.
Every detail and need was anticipated by our hosts: coffee beans and grinder, candles and lighter (a special treat!), even friendly visits from dogs and cats! The landscaping is truly special. The hot tub a beautiful, relaxing place to enjoy the stars and/or greet the sunrise. Despite very warm days, we found the casita cool and comfortable with an overhead fan and breeze.
Before booking, be sure you are aware that it's a loft bedroom with a ladder. We didn't try to get our luggage up and down. It was enough to manage a few personal items. The sofa sleeper is offered as a main floor sleeping option. We liked it a lot but worth inviting future visitors to be clear about it. The posting was clear from our perspective.
Rhonda and Dennis were warm, welcoming, and attentive hosts as well as excellent messaging correspondents. We highly recommend them and the casita.
Thank you so much for enjoying and appreciating all we have and like to do for our guests here at Luna Mesa! It truly is our pleasure to be able to provide a special place for creating special memories. Luna Mesa is always providing special quietude and beauty for us and our guests rain or shine, and that's the gift of Luna Mesa's architecture and location.
We hope that our description and photos help present a good mental picture of the casita and its upstairs Queen bedroom with lofty views that requires a bit of a steep climb. The Queen sofa sleeper downstairs is best if one doesn't want to climb double railed steep stairs and we appreciate the clarification.
We look forward to your visiting us and sharing our Luna Mesa at the base of majestic ancient Mesa Verde! Till then – all the best and many more happy travels!
Beautiful property and great location!
We chose this property because of it's location (close to Mesa Verde, Cortez, and Durango) and it's beautiful online pictures. It did not disappoint! Rhonda and Dennis were very gracious hosts, had lots of great ideas for things to do, and the property was even more beautiful than the pictures. We enjoyed the access to the garden, patio, and hot tub and were only a mile from the entrance to Mesa Verde. We will definitely reserve this property again if we make another trip to southern Colorado!
Thank you for enjoying our Luna Mesa! We love sharing our special location and helping with suggestions for your explorations. Your excitement and happy faces when you've spent a day experiencing Mesa Verde and our beautiful four corners area of Colorado makes our day! Looking forward to the next time you visit us at Luna Mesa!
