This house is surrounded by million-dollar homes in the tranquil and prestigious River Oaks neighborhood, one of the safest and cleanest communities in Houston. The house is in a central part of Houston, only 3-5 miles away from popular locations like the world-class Medical Center, downtown, the Galleria shopping district, the arts district, and Rice University.
This 2 bedroom, 1 bath bungalow has been recently fully remodeled and decorated. It features hardwood floors, granite counter tops, a Jacuzzi tub, dual rain showers, and lots of natural light. Enjoy a quiet morning sipping coffee on the front porch swing or a fun weekend grilling on the backyard. Other features include a large, 70-inch HDTV with full complimentary access to premium cable, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and HBO Go; a house-wide Sonos sound system; new washer and dryer with complimentary use of all laundry supplies; private driveway with space for 4-6 cars depending on size; automatic gate with controllers; and kitchen with plenty of counter space. Everything you need to feel right at home!
I love Houston, and I love living in this house when it's not rented. Even though I live here in this big city, I crave quiet and relaxation, and that's just what I get living here. I enjoy exploring the city - from nightlife, to sports and the arts, I always try to be involved.
Doug Smith purchased this house in 2007
I've always wanted to live in this part of Houston. To me, it has the best of everything - a great location, close to Montrose, downtown, the Galleria and parks, which I enjoy. It's also a very cozy house, and extremely comfortable. When you visit this neighborhood, you'll see a mixture of the historic and the new, of contemporary sophistication and old-time elegance. I think that mixture is so interesting and adds to Houston's appeal.
I love the backyard. It's private and has a nice deck for a lazy morning. The grill is also really nice for those days when you just want to have some fun outside. I also like the Jacuzzi bathtub. It's the perfect way to cap off a busy day. The tree-lined street is also a favorite feature. I often just put my sneakers on and go for a run around the block. It's a great way to decompress and enjoy the surroundings. And anytime is a good time to sit on the shaded front porch swing and watch as the occasional neighbor walks by.
We LOVED the Hazard house! Beyond our wildest expectations! Be sure to send us a link to write a review, we give it 5 * * * * * + + + ! Will recommend to anyone who wants an authentic River Oaks/Montrose experience. We loved the Empire Cafe -- still buzzed on those Mega-Mimosas!
The home was beautiful remodeled. Attention to detail while loading kitchen and whole house with thongs that are needed. Media system is really nice. Owners were available for questions. Had local family over for thanksgiving dinner and all went well. Thanks... loved it.
We stayed in the bungalow to spend time with our two Texas children. The home was very clean, well maintained, all of the necessary day-to-day living essentials were included, and Doug was very quick with responses when needed. The location is wonderful with River Oaks center a few blocks away that included Starbucks, restaurants and a Krogers. The neighborhood is wonderful. In fact, we started looking at homes in the area to buy! Thanks for a great stay!
This property was great. Lots of space. Lots of information. I was able to get ahold of the host's representative easily. Tastefully decorated with a big back garden and a secure place to park your car. Watch out for the back stairs to the patio, they need a little repair but that is me digging deep to find a negative comment. We will definately use this property again when we return to Houston!
The house is beautifully decorated and furnished. They had everything you would ever need for a comfortable stay. The manager checked in with us several times to make sure everything was going well. Also very helpful with instructions regarding the house and local area restaurants. I would definitely enjoy staying here again if needed.
This home was the perfect fit for our time in Houston for the NCAA Men's Final Four. It was comfortable for all of us and it provided the perfect location for activities all around the Houston area. The home is as pictured with enough cooking and eating utensils to provide good meals. The neighborhood is very peaceful, safe and welcoming. Both the back yard and front porch provided good relaxation and privacy. If we were going to Houston again, I would definitely rent this home.
Our family enjoyed three nights in this house, which is located on a very quiet and pretty street near the Galleria and the beautiful River Oaks neighborhood. The house is comfortable and very well placed, with close proximity by car to the Museum district and easy access downtown. The two bedrooms are spacious and the open kitchen is perfect for family meals. There is a little backyard, which is nice for breakfast under the sun.
