*** Rent from OWNERS, not agencies who advertise on VRBO! There is an increasing number of listings on VRBO that are by agencies serving as intermediaries between owners and renters. Be aware of this when you book a cabin! By booking with owners like me, you get direct attention from the owner should any needs arise rather than staying on hold with a receptionist at a desk in charge of over 200 cabins. We treat our cabin like our second home because it IS a second home to us! We want your Smoky Mountain Vacation to be as special and as carefree as possible! ***

Highland Lodge is a large five bedroom five bathroom cabin located in what is viewed by many to be Gatlinburg's top resort, Gatlinburg Falls. The resort is very conveniently located to all of the activities of Gatlinburg, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Pigeon Forge. Dollywood is just minutes away!

Our cabin is over 3000 square feet so that you and your family/friends have plenty of room to enjoy your vacation. The main floor features an open floor plan with large open kitching, dining, and living area. One of the four master bedroom suites is also on the main floor.

The cabin features five large bedrooms. Four of the bedrooms are large master suites which have king beds with comfortable mattresses. All four master suites have electric fireplaces, have their own bathroom, and open up onto one of the cabin's three large decks. All bedrooms also offer flat screen TVs and Blu-Ray players. One of the master suites is located on the main floor, one is located on the lower level adjacent to the large gameroom / living area, and two are located on the upper level.

The fifth bedroom is what we call the 'kid's room' although adults would certainly be comfortable there. This bedroom features a queen/queen bunk bed, flat screen TV with Blu-Ray player, and its own bathroom as well.

The kitchen on the main level includes everything you would need to cook a wonderful meal for your large gathering of family and friends. The kitchen has a large refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and many pots/pans/cooking supplies etc. We use this cabin as our home away from home and it has all of the same conveniences we would expect at our primary residence. The dining area which is open to the kitchen has a large wood table but there is extra bar seating as well along the side of the kitchen.

The living area on the main level is open to the kitchen and dining area, providing an even larger feel. Of course the cabin's high ceilings add to this effect of openness as well! The main level living area has two comfortable leather sofas (one of which folds out into a bed for extra guests), its own electric fireplace, 60 inch flat screen TV, and a Blu-Ray player.

The lower level game room / living area is an area where you, your family, and your friends will surely have a lot of fun. This area is fully equipped with everything you need to have a wonderful time! A large theater screen is in the lower level with a projector so you can spend time with your family and friends watching the latest and greatest Blu-Ray movie. Two comfortable leather sofas are in this area as well (one of which folds out for extra guests). Also in the lower level is a pool table (which is near an additional 65 inch flat screen TV), foosball, air hockey, and a Ms Pac-Man/Galaga arcade game. Hours of fun and enjoyment await you!

Our cabin has three large decks on the back side. Take a minute to sit outside snuggled up under a blanket in the fall and enjoy the mountain views. We of course have a hot tub on one of the decks for your enjoyment as well.

This is just a brief overview of what our home offers. Our cabin offers many of the other conveniences of home that you would expect such as a washer/dryer, cable, wifi, etc. If you have any questions about the accommodations we provide please ask!

We own and manage this property ourselves. We take great pride in our home. By staying at our cabin you can ensure that your vacation receives a great deal of attention from us. Should you experience any problem you would communicate with us directly and not someone at a receptionist desk at a cabin company in charge of tending to over one hundred cabins at a time. Rest assured that if there is a problem we will address it quickly!

Highland Lodge (Paul Campbell property) experience through VBO

  • 4 of 5

We hosted an extended family vacation in Gatlinburg, TN at the vacation home owned by Paul Campbell and his wife. The home provided the level of amenities one expects at the price for this rental. Their cabin was roomy, with more than enough space to be together or apart as desired during our week long stay. It's central location to the outdoor activities we participated in was great. We would consider this our first choice for properties if we were to visit this area again in the future. The one complaint that we did have was not with the Campbell property but with the Gatlinburg Falls Resort itself. Paul provided very clear instructions on how to properly handle garbage due to the black bear population in the area. It seems that the resort itself was less concerned with keeping garbage bins emptied, ancillary overflow flow of garbage picked up off from the ground and the general aesthetic or look of garbage piled in bins that were overflowing. This lack of attention to this important detail makes the efforts of their cabin owners more challenging as we found the general appearance of the resort in the garbage disposal areas unacceptable most of the time and appalling sometimes.

Wonderful place for the family!

  • 5 of 5

My family traveled from IL and VA to meet in Gatlinburg for our family vacation. Four families stayed in this spacious cabin! Each family had their own bathroom and the kids loved their own room with queen bunk beds. Everything was what I expected upon arrival, especially being clean. The families enjoyed the scenery from the three decks, pretty and very peaceful...I particularly enjoyed the third deck with the swing :-) We also enjoyed hot tub time, the game room and family dinner around the large table (we needed more chairs but that is not a bad thing, we were just surrounded by more family :-).

The cabin is conveniently located to attractions in the area. Our family rafted on the upper and lower Pigeon River, hiked on several trails, went horseback riding, UTV riding in the mountains, took a UTV through Cade's Cove, visited Ober Gatlinburg, played HillyBilly Golf, rode the mountain coaster, taste tested moonshine - just to name of few of our activities for the week.

The owner was fantastic to work with. He replied in a timely manner to my communications prior to our stay and during when we had wifi troubles.

We had such a wonderful time in the area and at this cabin I requested an additional night's stay...we just didn't want our family trip to end! The owner was quick to respond to our request and was extremely accommodating.

I read the reviews on this cabin before making my decision to stay here to celebrate my 40th birthday with my parents, husband, children, my siblings' families and my aunt. This really is a great place for family to gather; and I am glad I chose this property.

We would recommend this location to our family, friends and you!

One aspect the owner has no control over is that some cabins nearby were louder in the evening than we would have liked, but they must have been having fun too :-)

Perfect for a big family/multiple families and lots of kids!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful trip and the Highland Lodge was the perfect cabin! We had 8 adults and 7 young kids and thought there was plenty of room in the bedrooms and living spaces. The game room and theatre area was awesome!

I can't imagine a better location!

The owners provided great, detailed information on checkin, how to operate everything in the cabin, and check out.

Thanks so much for a great home away from home! We will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Setting

  • 4 of 5

It was a great place for a group of five couples. Everyone had their own bath. A large table in the living/dining area made it easy for ten to gather to eat. The balcony porch looking to the trees and ridge was a relaxing spot before dinner. The lower level entertainment center was fun for adults. For an outdoor group who spent the days hiking and exploring the Smokies, it was perfect. The owner recommended a personal chef, Fruitful Vintage Chef, who cooked for us and made the stay even better.

Location

From the Owner

What better way to spend even more time in one of the most beautiful places than to own a home and spend even more time there? This was our thinking when we purchased Highland Lodge. It offers the best of all worlds in that it is located in the luxurious and elegant Gatlinburg Falls Resort in Gatlinburg, TN, in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. In just minutes we are hiking in the park with our children. At the end of a long day exploring, we are conveniently located to the dining and entertainment in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge which is always a big hit with our family. When the day is all said and done we relax on one of our three porches with the beautiful mountain views. We feel very fortunate and look forward to sharing our experience with you.

Amenities

From the Owner

We have customized this home to fit the needs of our family, and it has been updated and modernized in many ways. The home serves a second home for us and we want you to enjoy all of the same amenities that we do. The cabin is very large (over 3000 square feet) with an open floor plan and high ceilings so the cabin feels even larger. We have comfortable furniture in all rooms. Perhaps the best perk inside our cabin is the large gameroom downstairs - our family and friends spend hours down there - between the theater screen/projector, pool table, foosball, air hockey, and Ms Pacman/Galaga arcade game there is never a shortage of things to do after spending the day hiking in the mountains, shopping in Pigeon Forge, or riding rides and enjoying shows at Dollywood!
