Overview

Property Details

Updated: Aug 26, 2016
Charming Lodge, Sleeps 10, Game Room, Outdoor Hot Tub, 2 Full Baths, 5 TVs

Lagniappe Lodge is a charming mountain cabin. We purchased this property in November of 2013 when it was still a private vacation home used only by the previous owner. It remains in excellent condition. A wonderful place to visit any season of the year. Sleeps 10 comfortably. This includes a queen size bed in main-floor master bedroom; a queen size bed and 1 set of bunk beds in loft; queen size sofa sleeper, 1 set of bunk beds and 2 single chair sleepers in downstairs family room. It has 2 decks with views of the mountain, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 full baths, 5 TVs with cable service, internet access, a game room with pool table and bar, and an outdoor hot tub. There is ample parking. The master bedroom has its own jacuzzi.

Start your day with a morning walk surrounded by the beautiful foliage. Spend the day taking advantage of the local attractions (see below) or hiking along one of the stunning trails in Smoky Mountain National Park. Enjoy beautiful sunsets and wildlife while you grill a delicious meal on either of the outdoor decks, or just relax and enjoy an adult beverage in the hot tub.

Activities abound for those of all ages and interests. There are amusement parks, including Dollywood and Splash Town, go carts, mini golf, museums (like the Ripley's Aquarium) dinner shows (our favorite...Dixie Stampede), outlet shopping and churches for all denominations.

If you are an outdoors person, then you will enjoy opportunities for white water rafting, horseback riding, hiking, backpacking, skiing, zip lining, golf, picnics (our favorite spot...Chimney Tops) and much more are readily available. Here are just a few examples:

Dollywood ~ 6 miles

Amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. From the time we walked in the kids we thrilled. Our 18 year old son is getting ready to leave for the Marines and it was our last trip with him, this cabin made it easy and memorable. From the boys sitting in the hot tub, to waking up with coffee on the deck, cooking a big breakfast for us all to eat together. We had a great time. We played board games, utilized some of the coupon books that were left behind. It truly was a great trip. We did hiking, and tubing. The owners were quick to respond to our needs. Thanks for a great time

The Perfect Setup!!

  • 5 of 5

VERY pleased! This cabin was the perfect setup for a summer retreat for my youth group. Great location. Everything that we needed. I can see me using this cabin again with my family as well. The owners were so kind and made sure that we had all that we needed.

Cute cabin

  • 5 of 5

The property was clean and cozy. Owner very responsive to questions. Plenty of beds--there were 7 of us. Unfortunately too hot to enjoy using the hot tub. Would have liked more seating for meals--there is the table on the deck but too hot to sit outside, and some days rainy. Plenty of comfy chairs on the lower level to watch movies. We enjoyed our stay!

Owner's Response: Susan - Thanks for your response! I'm glad you enjoyed your time there. I appreciate the comment regarding the seating. We had not really noticed that because it's always just my wife and me. But did have 2 other couples last month and noticed what you did about the seating. We're going to address that when we return later this fall. All the best to you and your family. Forrest.

Very clean and close to the action

  • 4 of 5

Our visit was very relaxing. The sites around the cabin were breathtaking. We brought out three kids under the age of 12 and they loved the lower stairs area. It had a PS4, a pool table, and darts. We definitely are planning on coming back soon. For their first visit to TN....it was a blast.

wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our needs. We had 5 adults and 4 kids and there was plenty of space for us all. The downstairs was perfect for our older kids/ young adults to hang out. The cabin was clean, well stocked and located very close to all of the activities in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The hot tub was clean and we used it everyday. Any issues we had were addressed very quickly and renting from Forrest was such a pleasure. He made sure our stay was comfortable and as stress free as possible. The cabin is located in the mountains so the drive up is typical of this area. Sky view drive does form sort of a loop so it can be accessed by silver poplar lane both ways. I found the shorter way which the GPS routes you to, to be a little more steep. The longer way, which is not a great difference, was more manageable. We wish we could have stayed another week. It is so peaceful with a beautiful view. A perfect getaway that is still close to town. Thank you to the owners for giving us such a wonderful place to make great family memories!

Owner's Response: Elisa - Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you found the "alternate" route to cabin as the slope is much softer. Please come back next year! Forrest

Beautiful cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was fabulous for the weekend. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and big swing and the adults enjoyed the top deck with the sunshine! The hill getting up to the cabin was really steep and put a lot of stress on our van but we just made one trip a day to lessen the strain on the engine.

From the Owner

Having spent much time in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the surrounding area, we decided that it made sense to purchase a second home here. There are many activities that attracted us to the area. You can stay very busy or you can enjoy the quiet and solitude. The beautiful scenery and surprisingly varied activities are enough to fulfill most anyone's requirement for an enjoyable getaway. Why not purchase a home in East Tennessee? After looking at a multitude of cabins we chose Lagniappe Lodge for its quality, location, and setting. The surrounding foliage is spectacular and the cabin is comfortable and well furnished. We could not be happier with our purchase.

What truly made us fall in love with Lagniappe Lodge was the opportunity it provides for us and those who share in it to experience so many things....a relaxing morning with a good cup of coffee and chicory, the tranquility of nature, the fun of the local amusements and the pure joy of participating in outdoor activities whether it is a challenging hike along the Appalachian Trail or a relaxing round of golf at one of several scenic golf courses in the area.
