Welcome to our Santa Barbara home, located in a beautiful, family friendly neighborhood only two blocks from Shoreline Park. Shoreline Park is a Santa Barbara favorite, and offers beautiful views of the islands, mountains, and harbor area with stairs to the beach if you feel like surfing, swimming or taking a beach walk (the tide pools are awesome!). Our home is also within walking distance of the Harbor which boasts of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club, the Maritime Museum, the exciting breakwater, and top notch restaurants overlooking the marina and stunning Santa Barbara mountains. We are also only minutes to the Pier (Stearns Wharf), Santa Barbara City College, State Street and downtown Santa Barbara. You can pick up the bike path at Shoreline Park and ride along the beach all the way to Montecito and visit our lovely ocean-front zoo and bird refuge along the way.
Our 4 bedroom/3.5 bath home is large, spacious and clean, providing a wonderful back drop for family and friends to enjoy, with over 3,600 square feet of living space and ample outdoor deck space. With a lovely fish filled pond and waterfall in the peaceful and private back yard, there's plenty of space to retreat to for peaceful contemplation. The stunning third floor deck and private hot tub offer ocean views and a relaxing spa-style atmosphere, with a trickling fountain and tunes from the home's audio system.
A beautifully finished gym/recreation area features a ping pong table, weight lifting equipment, a Precor elliptical stair climber, mini fridge and dart board!
The fully equipped gourmet chef kitchen is on the second [main] floor and features all high-end appliances, offers an ocean view, expansive granite counters, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Dacor double ovens with convection option, a center island with Dacor cooktop, Samsung dishwasher, a warming drawer for keeping your food warm until serving, a built-in microwave and freestanding Whirlpool ice machine. It also has a breakfast area with an ocean view and seating for six. The kitchen gracefully flows into the dining room and the great room so that the cook never feels isolated. There is also a lovely patio off the breakfast room and kitchen with an ocean view, a table and seating for four, a Weber gas BBQ grill and an outdoor heater to take the chill off!
The large dining room is on the second floor and has an ocean view, a stunning teak dining table with seating for eight, a custom made wrought iron chandelier and is a great place for hosting an elegant dinner party or for family and friends to gather for meals.
The great room has high cathedral style ceilings, a sky light, an ocean view, and a large impressive stone fireplace that instantly makes things warm and toasty with the flip of a switch. 58' Smart TV has incredible sound with sub-woofer, and interfaces with YouTube, Netflix, Pandora, etc etc, along with the usual cable networks. The great room, dining room and kitchen all flow together into a single unified space.
The beautiful king master suite is on the 3rd floor which includes an office, a fireplace, a mini fridge, sink/wet bar and private coffee station. The mattress (new June 2016) is a pricey Aireloom Cal King -- same bed used in the Whitehouse. Enjoy your coffee on the ocean view balcony which is directly off the master bedroom. The adjoining marble bathroom suite with its spa-like atmosphere has a large marble shower, extra-large tub, double vanities, a sky light and a very private lavatory with a bidet and a pleasant view of the garden pond and waterfall. The master suite opens up to the office which in turn has double French doors that gracefully flow out to the deck and hot tub with ocean views, outdoor speakers and a relaxing spa-style fountain. The spa deck can also be accessed from a private door in the master bathroom.
The guest suite on the second floor boasts of an attached bathroom, queen sized bed and an ocean view. The décor has an old fashioned feel in that it has a lovely heirloom chandelier. It is a truly charming room and one of our favorites!
The loft room is a lovely room with a queen size bed, extra soft and plush carpeting, a loft which is accessed by climbing a beautiful wood ladder with custom copper handrails. This room has a lovely view of the pond and waterfall. The loft has a queen size memory foam bed and would be particularly fun for children who want to sleep in their own fort!
The chalkboard room has two full beds as bunks, an ocean view and a large chalk wall where any budding artist can express him or herself.
There is a large double vanity bathroom on the second floor, located in-between and utilized primarily by the loft and chalkboard wall bedrooms.
The service porch has new heavy duty Speed Queen commercial washer and dryer, an ironing station, practical pull-out table for folding laundry and a half bath. The laundry room opens out into the charming back yard.
Great place to stay. Wonderful neighbourhood.
I have a few improvements yet in store -- looking forward to seeing you again next year!

Great place to stay. Wonderful neighbourhood.
Santa Barbara is a great city. Lots to do including cultural and sporting events. The city and its beaches are very dog friendly unlike San Diego and so a wonderful place to have a dog. The Mesa (where the house is located) is the best place in Santa Barbara with easy access to beaches and downtown. Over the years we have rented 7 different houses through VRBO and this place was the best yet. This house and yard were extremely well appointed and comfortable and both were maintained to a high standard by a very professional team of people. Lots of fun toys were included such a bicycles, a ping pong table and an outdoor spa on the top deck. Kitchen was very well equipped and a joy to work in. The owner was very responsive and extremely helpful. We have already booked again for next year!
A True Jewel
We had a wonderful stay in Santa Barbara and enjoyed this house to the utmost. Just 4 blocks to the water in a very convenient part of town, we found that everything we needed was right there. The kitchen was large, lovely and very well equipped with a world class view of the Pacific. All the bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms had been redone and were very nice. There were lovely gardens in the back and lots of space, both inside and out, to just relax. The owner was very responsive and as soon as you entered you felt as if you were "home."
Marvelous time in the Mesa (Santa Barbara)
If you're looking for a large, comfortable, contemporary, fully stocked vacation home 4 blocks from the magnificent Pacific Ocean in Santa Barbara, book this home. We spent three (3) wonderful months enjoying all that SB has to offer while looking for a home to purchase. This became a sanctuary for ourselves as well as family & friends who came to visit. Every bed was comfortable, plush towels & linens, a huge, gourmet kitchen equipped with almost every appliance you could think of, loads of room to relax and entertain, full house sound system, multiple balconies and a lovely yard with a fish pond. The communication and response of the owner to every need was handled in an efficient and friendly manner. Thanks FDF for making our transition to Santa Barbara life as easy & welcoming as possible!
This house and location were amazing!! Blocks from the beach and a short cab ride to the pier and state street. House was beautiful and stocked with full accommodations. The owner and property manager were both very nice and a pleasure to work with!
Beautiful home, great location!
We stayed in this beautiful home for two nights (10 guests). The house was in great condition with every possible amenity you could need: a lovely garden, outdoor heating, ping pong table, sound system, fully equipped kitchen, hot tub, several comfortable beds --the house even has incredible OCEAN VIEWS! On Saturday we were able to walk downtown (about 30 min) to check out urban wine trails and have lunch. I highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a delightful, Santa Barbara vacation stay.

This house is an absolutely beautiful custom home and was perfect for our weekend girls getaway! It was actually more beautiful in person than the pictures even show (and that can always be a little bit of a worry when renting a place)! The house was completely stocked with everything you could need and was very comfortable for all. We were all very sad to leave but would love to come back for a longer stay in the future. Thanks for everything!
