2 bedroom, plus sleeping loft, 1 bathroom, walking distance to shops
We are a family of 4 and this is our second mountain vacation rental. We love spending time in the mountains and sharing our spaces with others. The bridge in the picture leads to our favorite family walk in Fairplay. We are both in customer service (Greg works in cable and Renee is a realtor) and like providing a great experience for our mountain guests.
Renee purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Renee chose Fairplay
We stumbled across this cabin one day on our way through town. It looked interesting from the outside, but we fell in love with it when we walked in. The previous owners updated the cabin making it beautiful, comfortable, and cozy. We were so sad to leave that we decided to buy it right then.
What makes this Cabin unique
We really like the craftsmanship of the log cabin. It was built in 1932 and updated in a way that makes it very functional, but still feels original. Reclaimed wood was used where the ceilings were replaced, the ceiling was opened up to the roof line, and there is a jotul wood stove in the living room that is beautiful and very warm. We also liked that the cabin is in town and walkable to shops and restaurants and across the street from the coffee shop.

Cozy and clean
My daughter and I stayed two nights here on vacation. The cabin is small, but cozy and fairly comfortable. Everything was clean and we had no issues at all. We had WiFi and cell service (Verizon) was good, if we needed it. The linens and appliances were nice, and the kitchen was well stocked with the basics. We appreciated not having to strip our beds and wash linens. We used one of the bunks and it was less than comfortable, but the bigger bed was comfortable. All the pillows were kind of lumpy, but ok. Fairplay is not a fancy place, but if you want fancy, you pay for it. The cabin is on a side street that seems kind of rundown, but it's just a block from the main street and within walking distance to several eating places - very convenient. The view from Main Street is beautiful. We enjoyed walking down to the courthouse and in the other direction to the Dream Stream Cafe. All in all, we had a nice stay. If the location were a little nicer, I would have given it five stars.
It was a great place to stay and get away for a while. The cabin was great! Very nice and cozy, and very affordable. We will definately be back for another stay. The owner was awsome . If you have questions or concerns she was more than happy to reply and accommodate my needs . It was great!!
Cozy Cabin in Fairplay
Very close to Fairplay favorite spots ie Burro and downtown shops. Comfortable beds, well outfitted kitchen . Good support staff.
Great cabin, great location.
Loved the hometown feel, cabin is well maintained and cozy.
This was my second time staying that the Fairplay cabin. I just love this cabin. You are so remote, yet you have a small quaint town and can walk to all sorts of lovely shops.
The cabin is so comfortable. And is a really nice recharge. Enjoy your stay.
Cozy and clean
We had a lovely stay. The cabin is cozy, warm and clean. We didn’t get to do our planned hikes due to winter weather so hung out at the cabin more than planned, but it was a nice, relaxing time.
Fairplay has shopping, a wonderful museum, rec center and is close to all South Park offers - skiing, biking, hiking, skating, horseback riding, fishing, and skateboarding. There are several art galleries and antique stores and the coffee shop is less than a block away.
