Historic 104 y.o. triplex in West Beach. This main front unit has been our home for 7+ years. Now, it has a newly renovated bathroom with dual-sink vanity and soaker tub/shower, and newly renovated large kitchen.

High-ceiling architecture with intricate detailing and built-ins, fireplaces in both LR and BR, front veranda access and patio.

During some seasons we seek responsible parties interested staying in a beautiful, spacious home in the heart of West Beach. Please contact us about availability.

Great place

The place was clean and comfortable with lots of natural light. The small house had charm and history. The kitchen was big and well stocked. The bed was really comfortable. The bath in the bathroom was huge. We used the pull out couch and that seemed comfortable enough. The fireplace worked well. We were comfortable.

The downsides were the parking is a little bit of a pain. The roof top garden was really cool but it' seems it's a small business and people were coming and going during the Thursday afternoon we arrived through Friday. Not on the weekend. The porch shares an entrance to the roof top garden and people would come and go and even one person walked right into our unit thinking it was the business and someone was working up there on the garden so there was some noise overhead. So, it doesn't feel entirely private..and it wasn't shared about in the description of the property....but it is a nice place and the owner was nice and accommodating. The location is great.

my stay was perfect the place is beautiful with all that you need just bring your clothes .

My time at Chapala Gardens was more than I expected. Sandy was very helpful thru the whole process. I rented the main residence for three months this past winter. the location was exactly where you want to be in Santa Barbara, close enough to everything . You can walk to state street, the pier, the harbor, the funk zone. everywhere that you want to go. I had a car being that I was there for that length of time , but you don't really need one . There were times that the only reason it moved was because of street cleaning days! Sandy takes very good care of his property and is always able to be reached via text . He responds very quickly , never a problem . The roof top gardens are beautiful for coffee or a drink at night , Very private . You can even bbq up there if you want!!

Like I said everything is with in walking distance. Seafood, steaks, great night life , and the funk zone, which only a few blocks away . there is lots of music at night all up state street , I found the best live music in the funk zone , A place called Seven bar and kitchen , different types of live music depending on the day of the week , Jazz, Blues , Rock , all on the weeknights , weekends it is so crowded you cant get in! Also very good wine tasting places in the funk zone . And some great food ! Very casual no need to dress up . If you do have a car there are so many places to see all a very short drive . or you can uber it ! very big in Santa Barbara. everyone uses it

If you stay at Chapala Gardens you will be very happy you did.

My wife loved the place so much she asked if we could take the bedrrom home!!

She agreed that it is beautiful ,

If you want to cook you will find all that you need , to make whatever you want !

Bright & sunny!

My partner and I really enjoyed our 4-night stay at the Chapala Gardens. The unit was very large and spacious. There are lots of windows and a door leading to the outside from each room. This brought in a lot of natural light! We really enjoyed the property during the day because it felt so light and airy! At night you do have a bit of a sense that you're in a fish bowl (not all windows have coverings), but the unit is situated such that it would be difficult for neighbors to see into your unit.

We also really enjoyed the working fireplace in the living room- it certainly kept us warm and cozy on the chilly nights! There is also central heat, but the fire was a fun addition. The property has a neat rooftop garden that you can access, as well as bikes that you can take for a ride along the beach. We enjoyed a beach bike ride each morning. You're so close to the beach at this property- really wonderful location!

The whole unit was very clean and the owners were super responsive to our questions. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and would likely stay here again!

Perfect location for both beach access and downtown shops and restaurants

We had a great time with our two teenage children. Bed was very comfortable and furnishings throughout are tasteful. It was lovely to wake up in such a relaxing room with all the detail woodwork and pleasing decor. The bedroom, living space and kitchen are all large and our two teenage kids were fine on the comfortable sofa-bed. The good quality bikes were a great bonus, as was the roof deck which provided valuable space for the kids to spread out.

It's a perfect location for easy access to downtown, and the beach is just a couple of blocks away. Price was higher than we normally pay for this size of property, but we visited at peak time (Thanksgiving).

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly visit again next time we are in Santa Barbara.
