Every Inch Is Maximized For Comfort And Convenience. You Focus On Fun And Sun!
A complete and thoughtful renovation in 2010 makes this oceanfront unit one of a kind in an already great condo complex.
The expected: Standard bedroom--this one with a king-sized bed that can be converted to two XLong Twins. Storage space for suitcases under the bed and plenty of drawers and hanging space. Full kitchen with all new cabinetry and appliances, plus a full pantry able to hold lots of supplies. Loads of living room seating and a 47' HDTV, DVD player and sound bar. Oceanfront deck with bar stools and table for 2 and 2 rockers.
The unusual: Two full baths (NOT 1 1/2) with loads of storage. No bunk beds! Rather we have 2 XL twin Murphy (pull down from the wall) beds in the living area. Each bed has a storage armoire next to it with hanging space and 4 drawers. Exclusive use of covered parking under the unit for two cars. Adjacent to the carport, there is storage/changing space filled with beach games and equipment for guests' use--including a bike. Linens for bed, bath and beach are provided as are tokens for the laundromat in case you want to wash or dry the towels after a day on the beach.
The thoughtful renovation of this small space creates very functional interiors allowing for big-time gourmet meals, quiet reading, watching movies, getting good sleep and playing family games. The super location makes it easy to set up a shade shelter on the beach to spend the day in the surf, playing corn-hole and ladder golf, building sand castles and taking cat naps with the surf swirling around your ankles. We think it's a perfect vacation and hope you will too!

Nice little condo for a family vacation
This condo has to be the best one in the whole development! First floor, so not too many steps to climb with all your stuff. Beachfront with amazing views and right next to the dune crossover (I didn't even wear shoes from the condo to the beach!). And covered parking! Not to mention the condo is beautifully decorated and has pretty much anything you could want for your stay. The owners are awesome to deal with, very speedy with communication and very nice. You can feel how much they love their family in the condo.
We loved that chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels were provided and the storage closet was awesome for keeping sand out of the condo. It was also so nice and thoughtful to be provided with tokens for the laundry mat since there are no machines in the condo. The laundry mat was huge and very nice, and it was great to be able to do a couple loads of clothes midweek. The pool looked nice and had a shallow end perfect for the little ones, but between lots of rainy days and wanting to spend what sunny time we had on the beach we didn't get to use it. The beauty of this condo is that even on rainy days, you are front and center on the beach so you can watch the storms roll in off the ocean. It also meant we could still watch the waves without the baby getting sandy!
The condo would be great for a family with some older kids. I could totally see kids loving the murphy beds in the living room, and this would be a great condo for a cheaper family getaway. My son is sleeping in a pack and play. There was room for it in the bedroom, but it blocked one side of the bed. We found out it fit in the hall bathroom, which gave the baby his own dark, quiet room which was perfect for us!
Being the lowest floor condo means you'll hear the people in the condo above. Usually this wouldn't bother me, but with the baby it did. The people above us woke the baby up early every day and from several naps during the week, leading to a cranky baby. There isn't much to be done about it, you can just hear them walking around, opening the sliding door, opening cabinets in the kitchen, flushing the toilet, etc. You can also hear people going up and down the stairs outside the bedroom, but we wear earplugs to sleep so this wasn't an issue. Also, at high tide there is barely any beach, so be prepared to be a bit crammed. Low tide is a nice wide beach!
All in all, this condo was perfect for our family's vacation and we would rent again if we ever return to Topsail!
Very nice unit. Look forward to a return visit next year!
Unit was very well stocked. Only one problem - there were three of us but was supplied with just two beach towels. Otherwise, everything was great!!
This was our second year staying at this great condo, and we hope to return again and again. Just a short drive from shopping and dining, the location is very convenient. However, our main reason for staying here is the beach, and this unit is directly on the ocean! Breakfast on the balcony each morning was a great way to start the day. We also enjoyed the pool this year, the covered parking that comes with first-floor units like this one, and the amenities that the owners provide (linens, starter paper products, laundry tokens, and more). Thanks to Zane and Jack for sharing their beautiful home with us again this year.
The location in the condo complex and oceanfront can't be beat. The décor was great, and the beds were very comfortable!. The murphy bed provided an excellent place to read, relax, and still enjoy the ocean view in air conditioning. Doesn't get much better than that. It was such a relaxing vacation for my family. We did have a problem with the people above us having kids jumping around above the bedroom starting @ 6:30am :(. After 2 days of this, we contacted the management and they addressed the issue right away. We would stay @ this VRBO again without any hesitation. Zane was super organized and great @ guiding us through both checking in and checking out process. It was very clear and easy. The note and souvenir book upon arrival was a nice touch :) . The storage area with chairs and boogie boards, ect was a nice surprise.
Very comfortable for a family of four, but clarify how may towels & washcloths you get for your stay. We received 1/person each item. I am use to @ least 3 per person for a weeks stay.
The seafood at the local restaurants was outstanding, and I felt usually reasonably priced most places. Got to love the view @ Daddy Mac's.
If you get a chance to experience a Lomi Lomi massage located just down the street, it is well worth the time and money to experience it.
Those are my tips for our Surf City vacation.
Relaxing week in 116
Another wonderful and relaxing vacation on Topsail Island! This was our second stay at Surf 116. The oceanfront location is the best for not only sitting on the balcony enjoying the view or for ease of access to the beach and pool. Once again the condo had everything we could ask for in making our stay comfortable, including the paper products, kitchen items, beach items in the storage unit, etc. Thank you so much to the Creamers for once again sharing your modern and updated condo. We hope to return again next year. Keep me posted when reservations begin.
Wow! This is such a beautiful home! We've been coming to Surf City for years, and this is the first time we've rented a condo. I can say we were pleasantly surprised. The layout of the condo makes it appear bigger than the 800 sq ft. The second full bathroom in the bedroom is definitely a bonus. There was plenty of storage space. The "extras" that are provided are rare for a rental; from the linens, beach towels, paper products, soap, beach chairs & umbrella, it was all so appreciated! I must admit I was hesitant to rent at first as there is no washer & dryer in unit, but it turned out to not be an issue for us at all. I was able to wash & dry 4 loads of laundry in just over an hour at the laundry facility. The underneath the condo parking spot was a plus too. The grounds crew, security, staff, were all so pleasant. The grounds & pool of Surf City Condos are very clean & maintained. The view was simply amazing. This was our best vacation to date since we started coming to Topsail. We will definitely be back & will recommend! Thank you Jack & Zane for sharing your home!
From the Owner
“Upon our move to Raleigh, NC in 1990 we started coming with our young family to Surf Condos. The timing was right in 2010 to buy a unit for ourselves, and with the help of our boys, to renovate it in a way that works for the whole family to enjoy. For us, it has been a dream come true and we are waiting for the day when we can share it with our grandchildren!!”

From the Owner
“We love the ease of Topsail Island: plenty of things to do, but not a lot of distractions (outlet malls, boardwalk, etc.). We love the ease of Surf City: Center part of the 26 mile long island, so no long commutes on and off the island. Restaurants, shops and churches are close enough to walk or bike. We love the ease of the condo: Just big enough to hold us, it has everything we need, much of what we want, and none of the clutter that seems to stick around in the primary home.”
