Guestbook comments from the owner
Thank you for your wonderful hospitality! We had a great time here in Mariposa and in the beautiful Yosemite National Park. It was a great getaway from the busyness of Los Angeles. We really enjoyed our stay here at Robin's Nest. We felt more like we were staying with family or friends rather than a hotel. The place was very relaxing and nice. We had a great time.

Thank-you Robin and Chase
This was our first attempt at a HomeAway stay and it could not have turned out more spectacular. We loved the privacy at Robin's Nest, but any time we needed anything Robin and Chase were there to assist. The extras that Robin provided were wonderful and the perfect touch. Local coffee and hiking snacks, as well as fresh, locally grown fruit! Not to mention the evening Robin made cinnamon rolls and invited us to join them. Everything was as advertised if not better. The bed was very comfortable and having a living room and kitchen area was perfect for what we wanted to do. Our trip to Mariposa was designed around hiking Yosemite. The Robin's Nest is located right off of highway 140 which takes you straight to Yosemite Village. It is a bit of a drive (45 minutes) on a winding road, but after the first day we had the hang of it and just settled back and enjoyed the wonderful view. Robin also gave us a tip on a little restaurant called the Yosemite Bug which is approximately 7 miles outside of Mariposa on highway 140. We enjoyed it so much we ate there twice coming back from Yosemite. Keep in mind that they do not serve dinner until 6PM so don't try and get there too early, unless you want to sit and relax and play a board game (they have them) or in our case we always travel with dominoes! If you are unsure of the best hikes, Chase can assist. If you can't or don't want to do Half Dome try Cloud's Rest, which Chase recommended to us. Strenuous hike however. We left too late in the day to make it all the way but it was well worth it! Keep in mind that cell phones do not work in much of Yosemite. We did have GPS on our phone available for much of the time which was a big help! We also had a map of California with us which we did have to use. I could go on and on..... Summary: The Robin's Nest is the perfect place to stay in Mariposa! Robin and Chase...thank-you!
My girlfriend and I stayed at Robyn's nest for 2 nights while we visited Yosemite. The place is fantastic and the owners are incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. They are also extremely knowledgable about Yosemite. The unit is extremely clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
A real gem in Mariposa!
This is a wonderful place to stay. The apartment it beautifully appointed has everything you'll need during your visit. Your hosts have great knowledge of Yosemite Park and will be happy to pass tips on to you to make sure you make the most of your visit to the park. And when you get back from the park, relax in the lovely outdoor area and just enjoy the silence.
Our stay was Above and Beyond!!
This was our first visit to Yosemite and we knew quickly that Robin's Next was a great find. We selected this property based on numerous positive reviews from previous guests on VRBO. Trace and Robn were eager to provide tips and advice on where to go in Yosemite and it proved right every day. Their hospitality is second to none, the property was clean, great hot shower, comfortable bed and nice living area. Every little detail was thought of, items labeled, utensils, dishes and it was just right for 2 people. They also encouraged us to bring beach towels that they provided in the unit so we could wade/swim in Tenaya Lake which is absolutely gorgeous. The books on the park were very helpful and they encouraged us to bring with us each day to help navigate around the park. In addition, we were invited to use their pool which was wonderful after spending the day in the park. The landscaping on Robins Nest is so pretty and adds such character to the back yard. Mariposa is a nice little town and Trace and Robn gave us some great recommendations for restaurants including 1850 and Savourys. The drive to Yosemite was easy and short - about 40 minutes and very scenic.
You will enjoy your stay here, look no further.

Robn & Trace are the most gracious and amazing hosts! We had never used VRBO before, and let me tell you...this experience at Robin's Nest Cozy Vacation Rental secured our *love* for VRBO and we will be using this service religiously now. We were provided with a warm welcome and absolutely awesome accommodations...the bed was super comfortable and the outdoor courtyard and surrounding property was beautiful! Not to mention the pool! We will definitely be staying here again upon our return to adventure in the Yosemite wilderness. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making our stay so incredibly memorable!

From beginning to end, an almost perfect 3 nights in Mariposa. This is far and away our most pleasant VRBO/AirBNB experience to date.
Robyn's nest was conveniently located a quick walk from town- which, by the way, had some incredible restaurants, pubs and shops.
Close enough to Yosemite to head into the park each morning, spend a long, HOT, incredible day there, and be back in the deliciously cool and private pool before heading into town for whatever struck our fancy...or, just a cold drink and a snack poolside.
Robyn and I had exchanged several e-mails regarding the reservation and each time her response was pleasant, prompt and accurate. Directions to the property were clear and concise. Parking was readily available. The path to the unit was clearly marked and easy to find. The unit itself was spotless, well-organized and very comfortable. It was easily large enough for the two of us to spread out a bit and make ourselves at home.
Trace and Robyn were generous with their time and knowledge of the area. We had no trouble finding plenty of common ground and enjoyed their company. They also seemed to know exactly when to let us have the run of the place, which we greatly appreciated. We would be lucky to have the time and opportunity to become better acquainted and count them among our friends.
WHEN we are back in the area , we will definitely stay here again. I think we will try for a cooler time of year...but, it's hard to imagine giving up the luxury of the pool.
All in all, a huge success - unfortunately, the temperatures were above 110 degrees on the valley floor all 3 days of our visit. Much too warm for these mossy-backed pacific northwest natives.
