About The Owner

We're San Diegans who love to visit Kauai whenever possible! We've enjoyed spending time at Kiahuna with many friends and family since WE were kids. We visit our second home once or twice per year, and keep it fresh and updated for our comfort and yours. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Why The Owner chose Kauai

We've been coming to Kiahuna since we were young and decided to purchase a beach house here in 2000. It's been over 17 years of ownership, and we couldn't be happier with the location, the management, and the steady rentals this wonderful island and resort enjoy! Our kids love it now too- so we've successfully gotten the next generation hooked as well.

What makes this condo unique

The location of the Kiahuna Plantation is ideal. Being located on the southern tip of Kauai, the weather seems to be the best here compared to anywhere else on the island- we frequently say as we come out of the Tree Tunnel: 'Yep -it's always sunny in Poipu!' Having the finest stretch of Poipu Beach located in front of the only condominium property on Poipu Beach is a unique and fantastic feature.

Great location near beaches with lovely garden views.

The condo was in the location we prefer, near all the Poipu Beaches and old Koloa town. Everything was clean and ready for our stay and it met our needs very well. There were two barbecues right near the unit which was perfect for grilling and enjoying the garden surroundings. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishings are island attractive. It is located close to the road which might bother some renters but we were able to sleep easily without annoyance. We did have two different couples rent the unit above who appeared to walk quite heavily at times but were out and about most of the time. The grounds are amazing and the staff was always tending to something to keep things clean and well kept. We would recommend this condo to others who enjoy the lovely south shore of Kauai.

Large and nicely landscaped resort.

Pros: Unit very clean, helpful and friendly staff, wonderful gardens, lovely beach, unit close to high end restaurant, small shopping centre across street, very communicative and knowledgeable owner, ground floor unit an asset, large lanai, barbecue nearby, lots of birds, large mature trees

Cons: Unit a bit dated, some traffic noise, can hear footsteps of guests from unit above, no swimming pool in complex, guests barbecueing can be noisy,

Fantastic!

Very roomy condo. 2 min walk across the grounds to the beach. Very private feel with Moir cactus garden entrance in the back yard. Included large health club and shopping right across the street, outdoor grill nearby, helpful concierge, easy parking. Wow! I would totally stay exactly here again!

Comfortable unit, great location

Great unit for a family vacation. Our family (two parents and two young children) stayed at this condo for 3 weeks and had a fantastic time. The beach and grounds were perfect, and the athletic club across the street (and pool) was convenient and a great addition to the resort. With two young children it was great to have the extra space with the lawn and have the barbeque so close to the unit. We hope to be back again soon!

Comfortable Unit, Convenient Location

Our family (two parents and two young children) stayed at this condo for over a week and had a lovely time. The unit was as represented in the listing: clean, comfortable and well stocked. The grounds of the resort were immaculate and the cactus garden across the lawn from the lanai was a huge draw for our kids, who would go there on exploring expeditions at every opportunity. It was very important to us to be within a walking distance to a beach, and the Kiahuna beach (a 5-minute walk, if that) did not disappoint. A smaller, protected lagoon to the left (if you face the ocean) provided a safe place for our kids to swim and interact with an occasional fish, while the larger, more exposed portion to the right let us have some fun in the waves. There is a shopping center across the road from the resort with a general store that carries some basics and a number of restaurants, including Puka Dog. Big Save, which is a fully stocked supermarket, and Koloa Fish Market (amazing poke, only accepts cash) is about 2.5 miles away. Overall, very convenient location and a nice, comfortable unit. We definitely hope to be back.
