Our family celebrated Thanksgiving week at the Wallace retreat in Bozeman, MT. We decided to rent a home rather then get 2 hotel rooms for our family so we could all be together & we are so glad we went with that decision. Our stay there was perfect! The home was very clean which is especially important to me when traveling and the inside was well designed. The kitchen is just beautiful, was well equipped & had lots of the little amenities for making great meals. The home had everything we needed so we were able to just relax & enjoy our visit together. Three blocks South of the house is a grocery store and the downtown area which was ideal as we walked to town every day. Three blocks North of the house is a wonderful organic bakery! The cinnamon rolls & bread just melted in our mouths. I also highly recommend visiting Montana ale Works which is just a short walk from the house on the way to the downtown area. Great food & drinks. We enjoyed the town, did a mountain hike and even joined in on the town's "Huffing for Stuffing" Turkey day run/walk. Great fun!
Everyone in the family had such a great, relaxing time and Montana Vacation Rentals made it all run perfectly smooth & care free for us. I highly recommend this company & this home. I would definitely stay again.

Lovely house and so close to Main St. Heebs Grocery 3 blocks away if you have forgotten anything and many restaurants in walking distance. Outdoor space was beautiful! Very comfy furniture to sit and enjoy a beautiful day. Kitchen modern and very nice - we cooked and baked a couple of times and it was very good. Living room was very modern and looked uncomfortable at first but actually quite nice and comfortable. Master bed also quite comfortable. Lots of space. The infrequent trains are quite close by but they can be comforting if you like the sound or you can bring ear plugs and you won't hear a thing. A few nits that keep it from being excellent:
1) would have been nice to have ceiling fans esp in master to get the air moving
2) was weird to have open toilet in the master. Bath in the room kind of strange but ok. Shower in master was GREAT though!
All in all, for the location and comfort and that great outdoor space, we would definitely stay here again.
Since three bedroom rental properties within a short walking distance of Bozeman are pretty sparce, this property's location is a winner. You can walk to Heebs grocery store which is just three blocks, the Wild Crumb for breakfast and resturants and bars at night--everything is within walking distance. The kitchen and bar are fully equipped and the open floor plan is really nice. The big back deck is the perfect place to relax and watch the stars or catch some sun. There are a few things that kept us from giving this house 5 stars and could easily be fixed. One, only two of the bedrooms have adult beds so this house only sleeps four adults. The third bedroom has small beds for children. Two, the outdoor furniture is great but only seats five adults--not six. Three, Montana air conditioning doesn't work too well in 85 degrees in the upstairs. Ceiling fans and an attic fan would have really helped. The trains are pretty noisy at night, so be prepared to run fans to block the noise or bring earplugs. We had a great time at this property and with a few adjustments, will earn 5 stars. Mountain Home that manages this property is a well run, accomodating company to work with.

We stayed at the North Wallace Retreat for 3 weeks in July while visiting our daughter and her family in Bozeman. The house was in a perfect location within walking distance to down-town, grocery store, Wild Crumb Bakery and so much more. We loved everything about the house…character, spaciousness, lovely kitchen and great back yard for our little dog. All the bedrooms were nicely done and the master bedroom was great! We loved cooking in the kitchen (when not eating out) and enjoyed many evenings on the patio late into the night. Also, the neighborhood was very quiet for being so close to down-town! We had a wonderful time with family and would stay there again!
spacious and comfortable
nicely refurbished house in very good location for downtown. Very clean and plenty of room. Comfortable beds and good linen/towels. Loads of storage space. Nice big yard. Very good organic bakery 3 blocks north and supermarket 3 blocks south. Road can be a bit noisy (route to industrial area), and you hear the trains at night, although soon get used to that.
Great, Modern, Stylish, Convenient Rental
Briefly, this was an excellent place. Our family of 5 was very comfortable in this spacious rental. A beautiful kitchen and nice wood floors; very contemporary and up to date. Best of all was the amazing location: close to town, market, coffee place (Wild Crumb), library, park and hiking trails. Price was very good for what you get. I highly recommend it and would stay here again in a heart beat.
We look forward to staying there again
Excellent location, a few blocks north of Main Street (and a grocery store) and a couple of blocks south of an outstanding bakery.
Huge, modern space for entertaining.
Master bedroom a little quirky, with bathtub big enough for two in the middle of the room, but hey it's a vacation.
Mountain Home - Montana Vacation Rentals wonderful to deal with.
Recommended restaurants: Blackbird (on Main St., easy walk from house); Emerson Grill.
Chico Hot Springs (about an hour and 15 minutes away) is fun and has an outstanding Sunday brunch.
