Grandview is nestled on a private road with no thru traffic & situated less than 800 ft from the National Forest border. It’s the perfect getaway for those that have location, privacy, nature & convenience on their checklist. It also has mountain, city & tram views! Excellent paved, private parking pad , level, with enough room for four cars. That’s a rare find in the mountains!

Our guests have seasonal access to 3 private pools, clubhouses, tennis courts, pool table, ping pong, gym equipment and more. We’ll also provide you with our guest card that that allows you discounts at area establishments.

If you’re looking for the amenities of home...We’ve got you covered....

Make memories with family as you gather at the kitchen bar . Bake some cookies, a holiday meal, crockpot dinner or grill out. Help yourself to the fully equipped kitchen with; pots & pans, dishes & utensils, a blender, crockpot, microwave & dishwasher. You’ll enjoy the view from the kitchen window, almost as much as the memories!

Relax in the den, tastefully decorated with new furniture, one of a kind hand carved wall sculptures, cabin themed accessories & even a cabin themed ceiling fan. Fire up the wood burning stove and enjoy a movie from the DVD collection, watch a football game on satellite, browse the internet with free wifi, play a board game from our selections, or simply curl up and read a good book. We have a collection of books that should cover everyone... We even have BIG BOOKS! Not the ones with 500 pages (I’m speaking to the kids now... ), it’s the REALLY BIG paperboard type books that kids love to flip through! Take it from me ~ even big kids love them~

Grab a glass of sweet tea, step out onto the upper deck & have a seat in one of the rockers. There’s a new patio set & extra chairs too! Enjoy the view of the tram, passing less than 200 ft away from the deck. Give an occasional wave, tram riders will gladly reciprocate. No worries about privacy, you’re tucked away just enough to be able to shadow yourself beneath the trees if you choose. You’ll also enjoy the mountain view. Every day you are met with a different mural. Spend a week with us and you’ll notice how drastically these beautiful mountains can change within minutes. Try counting the layers of mountains.. I’ve made it to 11 or 12 layers back! See my pictures to see the dramatic changes you’ll witness daily. Some of them I zoomed to give the clearest view online, but in person... that’s where you get the full effect! After the sun sets, enjoy the twinkking lights of the city from the deck. You’ll have a straight line of view to the Space Needle. If you are visiting on July 4 th, Christmas or New Years, you are in for an extra special treat, as they light the Space Needle with different colors, do a ball drop and have a fireworks show right atop the space needle for New Years. On July 4th you can watch the downtown fireworks and catch a glimpse of the parade and other festivities over downtown Gatlinburg. Imagine your front row seat to the lights, from your very own deck!

On the lower level you’ll find 3 bedrooms, each with their own theme, flat screen tvs, and private access to the deck. On the deck, the hot tub and porch swing await you. On the lower level you’ll also find the washer/dryer, and a full bath. (There is also a full bath upstairs).

Grandview is known for an abundance of wildlife. Chances are, you will see a bear...or four :-) Enjoy them from the deck~ It’s an unforgettable experience witnessing their natural characteristics and beauty in its true form.

These are your memories~come join us, and make them good ones! We’d loved to have you!!

About the Owner

My husband and I were married in Gatlinburg (1995). We were taken with the town, mountains and nature immediately, and we’ve returned countless times since then. It seems the addiction only gets worse as the years pass. We began our cabin search about 7 years ago. It wasn't until the last 2 years that we were determined to take the leap, and until last year that we placed a deadline on ourselves ~ we would purchase a cabin by the end of the year, even if it wasn't the 'perfect one.'

I should mention that, in the years since we were married, almost every time we traveled to Gatlinburg we tried to find the cabin we stayed in back in 1995. We had a few landmarks that we remembered near the cabin , we found them, but simply could not find the cabin.

Now, back to our cabin search. We must have made 6 trips to Gatlinburg last year looking at cabins. Early last year we signed a contract on a cabin. That turned into a bidding war...so we continued the search. It just wasn't meant to be. I had my eye on a few cabins, and a few of them I could never get in to see. One, in particular, I had missed on 2 of my visits. The following trip my Realtor called on the day I was leaving. She said she had one that I'd wanted to look at for a while, but I'd have to stay a bit longer if I wanted to see it.

I met with my Realtor and, from the minute I stepped in the cabin, I knew it was the one. This was the cabin we'd stayed in when we were married back in 1995... the one we'd looked for so many times!!

I remember calling my husband and telling him that this was the one. He couldn't be convinced. Finally, I dug through our old photos. Our wedding album was the last album beneath all the others. It was the picture of me standing in front of Grandview, with the street number of the house in the background, that finally convinced him this WAS the one. The look on his face that moment ~ PRICELESS!!

The rest ~ is history.....

Nice cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin. Lynn was very helpful and was in communication with us the whole time. The location is great with easy access to the national park and Gatlinburg. Our kids loved the hot tub. The beds were comfortable and we were provided with plenty of linens for our family. We really have no complaint with our stay, and would stay again.

We loved the chalet felt like home! Lynn was great to work with!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect when we got there. Very easy check in. It was my grandchilds first trip to gatlingburg! She is two. Her favorite part was the chalet! She loved waving to the tram and playing hide and seek. with her family. We loved the aquarium and hiking to laurel falls! It was in the seventies in December! Kensley loved the coaster ride In Ober Gatlingburg and it was only a short drive up the mountain. It was very peaceful unlike a lot of cabins we have stayed in previously!

We hope to come back again and would love to stay at What A View!!! Thanks again Lynn for making our stay amazing! God bless you and your family.

Exactly what we expected. Wonderful view.

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Grandview (3 couples and a young child). The cabin was perfect. Nice view of the center of the city, especially at night. Spacious and cozy living room, extremely well equipped cabin, and definitely the most helpful and friendly owner we have ever dealt with. We will be going back!!!

Perfect location, wonderful people

  • 5 of 5

First of all, Lynn was incredibly helpful and stayed in contact via text, making sure our stay was comfortable. The property was very clean and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could need. (and we did a lot of cooking) The view was incredible and our girls loved watching the tram go up and down the mountain. Having the covered deck was nice since we had a good amount of rain during the week, but could still enjoy the view. We also loved the hot tub!! The location was perfect... right in between the Gatlinburg strip and the national park, even the "Ober Gatlinburg" resort (highly recommend the chair lift and alpine slide for fall time!) was right up the hill. Our FAVORITE breakfast at "Crockett's Breakfast Camp" and dinner at "The Park Grill" were both so conveniently placed at the end of the strip! The only negative I would warn about is there is a raised brick area in the middle of the cabin under the stove that sticks out a little farther than you would expect when walking through the room... we all tripped on it at least once. I would recommend putting bar stools on it so that you don't forget it's there. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and hope to return!

Owner's Response: Brittany, Thanks you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time at Grandview, and we can't thank you enough for sharing your pictures and special moments along the way. Knowing that other families are making memories of a lifetime, and being able to share a small part of that with them is such a blessing. Thank you! P.S. You are the first to mention the fireplace hearth, but rest assured, we have a solution in store :) Take care, until next time~ Chris, Lynn & Lauren

From the Owner

It offered something money couldn't buy, and no other cabin could offer ~ our history. As well as views, views, views, convenience to town, easy access and a great location.

Activity and Interests

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers tours, sightseeing, trails, waterfalls, hikes, caves, wildlife, nature, historic mills and cabins as well as stunning mountain views. Visit Cades Cove for a day of nature, or enjoy trout fishing and a stroll down the river. Head to Ober Gatlinburg for a day of ice skating, skiing, tubing, or sledding ~ don't forget to check out the bears!

If shopping and fine dining are what you prefer, we've got you covered. Gatlinburg has some of the best local dining to be found! If price is no issue, definitely try The Peddler, with seating over the mountain brook and 5 star reviews you can't go wrong. Remember to make reservations ahead, you'll definitely need them. While window shopping downtown, grab a sausage dog ~ a must have on every visit for our family ... simply DELISH!! Sweet tooth? Grab a small amount of fudge .. if you're like us, you'll overload, and shortly after the sugar rush you'll realize you could never finish the 5 lbs you just purchased...trust me on this one. The Thistle is one of my favorite town stores, but you'll find shopping choices are abundant, ranging anywhere from nostalgic collectors items, to cabin décor, woodwork, pottery, quilts and dog/pet clothing. Cowboy boot fan? You're are in for a real treat, with a store full of every type/style imaginable, walls and walls of boots ~ sheer heaven!

Take a ride on the tram. The views of the mountains from the tram are simply unforgettable. You'll also enjoy the stories behind a lot of the cabins on these mountains, as you ride. Who knew Gatlinburg had famous and notorious people living on these hills? It's a beautiful and FUN filled ride, and it's easy on the wallet. Be sure to grab a coupon book while you're in town. There are stands galore, that are packed with FREE coupon books that offer discounts to nearly every attraction, eatery and store around, including the tram ride.

If exhibits and specialty type entertainment are what you are looking for try Ripley's Aquarium, it's pretty unique. There's also a Hollywood Cars Museum, Cooter's~for the Dukes of hazard fan, and a 3D movie theatre.

If you want to enjoy a relaxing day at one of our three clubhouses you'll have lots of choices for things to do. The clubhouses & amenities are available to Chalet Village owners and their guests, seasonally. Each of the clubhouses offer different amenities; swimming, tennis, pool tables, ping pong, horseshoes, shuffle board, croquet, gym equipment and a lot more. You'll also have wifi access, changing rooms and showers. And for the kid in you, yes, there's even a big jungle gym to play on! It's kid friendly, so there should be no scraped elbows and knees - for the average tunnel dweller, that is :-)

Now, if you want to see some of the most amazing dinner (and other) shows on earth, Pigeon Forge is the place you'll want to head. It's just a hop, skip and jump up the road, about 7 miles, but take your time and leave early. During the busy seasons leave at least an hour early. The shows are worth it, and are great family entertainment. My recommendations: Dixie Stampede - delicious food, fun packed interactive show, fabulous costumes, hysterical comedy and beautiful horses to pet on the way in to the show. If you have the opportunity to see the Christmas show~OH MY!! Absolutely unbelievable! A once in a life time, inspirational show... I cannot even put into words how moved you will be by the magical moments in this show. Another awesome show is the Smoky Mountain Opry, for adults and children, again... fantastic show, but this isn't a dinner show, it's strictly entertainment. Finally, Hatfield s & McCoys Dinner show. This one was great. Be sure to encourage the kiddies to head on up to the stage when they ask for volunteers ~ PRICELESS! My husband and I enjoyed the show at least as much as the kids... best laugh (at the kids) we've had in a longggg time!

There a so many fun and free things to do in the area, you'll never get to them all. These are just some of my favorites. Remember to search online for discounts ahead of time, and grab some of the free brochures & discount books that are found all over town.
