About Henry and Robin Reed
Hi, Henry and I (Robin) have lived in Colorado for 28 years and love the Rocky Mountains. It has been a wonderful place to raise our kids. We have explored many of the attractions here and there are things for all ages to enjoy! When we moved to Colorado, we could hardly wait until our children were old enough to explore with us. When their grandparents retired here, they began teaching them how to fish for trout at the Rampart Range Reservoir. Being able to catch their limit has never been an issue! We hope that you take the time to come to Colorado to relax, have fun and make some great memories!
Henry and Robin Reed purchased this House in 2013
Why Henry and Robin Reed chose Spring Valley
We spent a lot of time looking for a special place to get away and relax. When we found this property, we fell in love with the lakes, views and wildlife. Each time we have stayed here we have had deer come into the backyard early morning and evening. Having a place large enough for our immediate and extended family was important in case we wanted to get away to celebrate a special occasion. This mountain home's layout lends itself to privacy for more than one family. Be ready for a photo opportunity when driving to the house because elk herds frequent the area! Pack a picnic lunch and sit by the lake! There are several covered picnic benches and a bathroom by the lake as well. Drop a fishing line in the lake and catch a trout (we provide the poles and tackle)!
What makes this House unique
This is the only cabin in the area where we pre-purchase fishing passes for our guests, provide two different types of boats to enjoy (at no extra charge) and provide poles, bait and tackle. NO Colorado fishing license is required and the lakes are stocked twice a Summer with a variety of trout. Come try and catch a Golden Trout...it HAS been done!

Easy, Clean, Beautiful
Our stay at the Robin’s place for our honeymoon was possibly the best idea we had for our trip. From the get go, communication was quick and full of info, easy to work with regarding a surprise I had planned for my wife, and very polite. When we got to the home it smelled clean, looked very well put together, and like a place to kick back. The hot tub in early November was great to end the day in. The view from the deck was a great way to start the day. I highly recommend booking this home for an amazing get away. Also enjoy the dollar game and the recommendations left by Robin for places to eat and visit.
This was such a beautiful place for our quick getaway. The place was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was warm and relaxing. We saw nature up close. Kitchen was well stocked. We want to come again...this time for a girls getaway.
We are happy you enjoyed your stay at our cabin! I am glad you found it clean and comfy with everything you needed! We would love to have you back for a girls getaway sometime! We hope to hear from you again!
Thanks, Robin and Henry
great place and people to deal with,A++++++
place was really nice and hot tub was great
Nice spot in the mountains
Cozy yet lots of room. This place had many amenities that you would expect from a property rental. The overall atmosphere reeked cabin, tastefully decorated to know you are in the mountains. The beds were comfortable. Robin responded quickly to any communication I needed. It was only a short drive to town and you had McGinty’s to eat delicious pizza or Reuben. Woodland Park is only 15 minutes away as well as Cripple Creek or Florissant. Mueller State Park has gorgeous views of Pikes Peak. We did not use the boats and only fished once but the views are wonderful.
Great place to stay!
This cabin has everything you could possibly need, very clean and comfortable. My family and I really enjoyed our stay time just went by by way too fast. The hot tub was really cool and the view was beautiful, every morning we saw deer all around the cabin. Over all one of the best places we have stayed.
Peaceful and Relaxing
My wife, myself and two kids (2 and 6), stayed for two nights (8/20-8/22) and really enjoyed the cabin. Cabin is close enough to groceries, sightseeing, activities and town, but still provides that feeling of getting away from the hustle and bustle. Outdoor hot tub was enjoyable in the cool evenings. Kids loved seeing the wildlife all outside the cabin.
Wife mentioned this cabin stay was the favorite part of our one week trip through Colorado. Would definitely recommend for families wanting to get away, but still be close enough to everything you need.
The lakes are amazing and there are several picnic benches. We have two boats you can enjoy too. One is a 14 foot row boat and the other one is a peddle boat. We provide poles, tackle and pre-purchase fishing passes. There is a view of Pikes Peak from the lake too!
You will see lots of wildlife and if you like to ride ATV's the Pike National Forest is just 2.5 miles away! Come enjoy our place and catch a trout!! They stock it twice a Summer and there are some golden trout in the lakes!
