About this property

This cottage located in Dirol in the very center of the Nièvre department will allow you to discover the Burgundy region. The Nivernais canal passes at its feet, with the newly opened cycle path. Ideal for bicycle fishing enthusiasts and anyone who likes to enjoy life by the water.
It can accommodate up to 5 people.
The geographical location allows those who are passionate about the history of Burgundy to get to know sites that have from the Middle Ages or in the 15th century hosted personalities such as Mahaut de Courtenay or Vauban, to visit Nevers the first castle of the Loire. and in Vézelay the basilica of the "Eternal City", which is still the starting point for the pilgrimage to Compostela

The 140 m² gite includes:
- 1 living room with a TV and a sofa bed
- 1 fully equipped kitchen: stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher
- 3 bedrooms comprising in total: 1 double bed and 3 single beds (5pers) the beds are made for the arrival of tourists.
Cot, bath, changing table, high chair and baby stroller are provided. Pets allowed. (3 € per and per animal)

Burgundy hideaway

Michelle is an excellent hostess and the house has been beautifully modernized with 3 huge bathrooms and yet also maintains its original character and charm. The house is right on the canal and has a wonderful view over the fields. A peaceful spot.

Séjour hors du temps dans un cadre idyllique

Que dire de plus d'avoir passé une semaine très agréable en famille accompagné de notre ami à quatre pattes ou chacun a pu se ressourcer dans un endroit merveilleux rempli de calme et de quiétude par la présence du canal. Accueilli chaleureusement par ses propriétaires qui discrètement se souciaient de notre confort Le gîte est très spacieux, très propre et très confortable ...rien n'y manque Encore merci pour vos attentions Annie, Nicole, Marc et Eddie et ....Happy :) - Belgique

Un endroit plein de charme, et insolite

Nous confirmons ce qui est dit plus haut. La vue depuis ce gîte (aux proportions harmonieuses) est vraiment belle. Elle dépasse le jardinet (amplement suffisant) enjambe le canal pour se perdre au loin dans la campagne. Point de départ aussi, de magnifiques balades à vélo, en toute sécurité, sur le chemin de halage (40km aller retour pour étang de Baye) avec enfant de 10ans, pour le plus jeune (aucune difficulté pour lui) toujours au cœur d'un magnifique paysage légèrement vallonné, et sans nuisances (mieux vaut partir avec le pique nique). Escapades en voiture aussi, côté Morvan : Au nord : Vézelay, et Bazoche (château familial de Vauban) (très beaux paysages en passant par Lormes ... et plus au sud : Mont Beuvray (Bibracte, la cité gauloise) entre autre ! ... Certes, nous avons eu aussi une excellente météo ! Endroit plein de charme, insolite, préservé, calme. Pont levis, écluses... une pénichette peut venir, en toute discrétion, (si ce sont des connaisseurs) vouloir profiter aussi de l'endroit pour la nuit avant de repartir, nous sommes bien au bord du canal... (dans une très jolie partie d'ailleurs). Notre fille adolescente, qui aime la photo, s'est fait plaisir... le plus jeune, lui, faisait du roller, sur la route où ne passait que très rarement une voiture. Enfin, mention spéciale pour les propriétaires (en retrait, dans très jolie maison familiale, non loin de là) dont le charme, et la discrétion nous ont séduits tout autant. Nous reviendrons ...

petit coin de Paradis

Maison trés confortable, agréable à vivre et trés trés propre.Jardin super pour prendre ses apéros,repas sans risque d'être dérangé par de la circulation ou autres nuisances !idéal pour décompresser, POUR CEUX QUI AIMENT LE CALME, les promenades à pied ou vélo. Si vous avez un animal on ne peut pas mieux tomber. propriétaires charmants et discrets. Si ados prévoir un planning sorties car sur place pas grand chose pour eux. Village Corbigny, 5 mn voiture, bien équipé pour faire le plein de bonnes choses à déguster et tout le reste. Ne pas hésiter à prendre la voiture pour visiter Nevers, Auxerre et divers sites. S'informer par internet de ce qu'il y a à visiter et le temps de route que cela représente. Nous nous partions le matin vers 9h30 et revenions vers 16 h pour profiter le reste de la journée sur place. 2 séjours pour nous, et nous comptons bien y retourner ! Bon séjour pour les prochains chanceux ....

A spacious and comfortable house in a beautiful and peaceful location overlooking a canal. There is plenty of outdoor space and you can enjoy walks along the canal. The owners, who live next door, are exceptionally kind and helpful. Highly recommended, especially for families.
