Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my listing! I am a career military officer originally from Austin, Texas finishing my last few years of military service in the DC area. I hope you enjoy your time visiting our nation's capital, and if there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know!
David Cooper purchased this townhome in 2012
Historic Capitol Hill is truly a downtown suburb that offers all the excitement of the city yet retains a safe and small neighborhood feel. The residents here are a tight-knit group comprised mostly of families who possess a strong sense of community. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!
No expense was spared in the complete refurbishment of this house. You will be staying in a historic home complete with modern amenities--1880's on the outside and 2010's on the inside! Location-wise everything you need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, Metro) and everything you want to see (Capitol, Library of Congress, National Mall, Eastern Market, Barracks Row, Smithsonian museums) are just a few blocks away and within easy walking distance. Live amongst the locals and truly feel at home during your visit!
I'd stay here again in a flash. Everything is brand new and in excellent condition. Great location.
418 Seward is a beautifully restored row house centrally located in the Capital Hill area of DC. It is unique because it is a two bedroom apartment on one floor which is not easy to find in Capital Hill. It is just off Pennsylvania Ave and near the Eastern Market. There is no need for a rental car because many things are within short walking distance or an inexpensive Uber ride. The apartment is clean and well appointed. Beds are comfortable and the owner is very accommodating for any special need. When we asked for a portable crib, one was waiting for us upon arrival. We were also given early access and late check out with a simple request. We could not have asked for a better weekend for our second stay in this ideal VRBO property. Five stars all the way.
Our stay was great! It is a beautiful property, close to the capital, great restaurants, and the Eastern Market. The owner is wonderful to work with, very quick to answer any questions you may have.
This beautiful old rowhouse has been meticulously restored and updated. It is a unique way to experience the historic Capitol Hill area, and I highly recommend it. It is only minutes on foot from the Capitol and Eastern Market Metro and buses which makes it easy to get to all the attractions. There are numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and a couple of grocery stores within a couple of blocks. The bathrooms and kitchen are totally modern and very nice. The owner has thoughtfully provided a fascinating history of the house - don't miss it! You will not be disappointed with this property.
Very nice row house in a fantastic location! This home helped make our stay with our two children so comfortable and enjoyable! It's within a short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, etc., and a longer walk to the national mall, museums, etc. Property was clean, well maintained and just as pictured. Excellent communication from the owner. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!
The Rowhouse at Seward Square where we stayed for a week turned out to be perfect for us and our friends while we spent a week in Washington D.C. Each couple had our own room and bathroom with a shared living area and kitchen. The big screen t.v. was perfect to watch at the end of a very busy day. There were a couple of things we needed from David Cooper, the owner, and he had his housekeeper furnish them promptly. The keyless entry was also perfect with no need to carry keys or decide who would keep them. The location was great with several restaurants within a couple of blocks and a small market nearby for basic food items to take back to our place. There were also 2 metro stations within a few blocks as well as the Circulator for transportation. We would highly recommend this place to stay and would stay there again if the situation arises.
