"Villa Fabrica is located in the traditional village of Anopolis, just 15 minutes from Heraklion airport and 5 minutes from the sandy Kokkini Hani beaches. Is a 100-year-old stone building, originally used as an olive factory, carefully restored into a traditional rustic style two-storey house suitable for 2-6 persons. It is quietly located in the village of Anopolis about 100 m from the village square. In the village one finds several cafenions, tavernas and a minimarket. Further shops, supermarkets, bars, ATM, can be found in Kokkini Hani some 3 km away, with a selection of local beaches. The gate opens into a small yard from where one enters the house. On the ground floor is a spacious and comfortable furnished living room and dining room with wooden ceiling, TV,stone built fireplace, separate WC with washing machine. Next to it is a cosy terrace full of flowerpots and surrounded by a small garden,a BBQ and a stone oven. The perfect place to unwind, after a long day's journey. The open plan fully equipped kitchen with dining room too is separated from the living room by a stone archway. From the living room a spiral staircase leads to the first floor into the bedroom with 2 single beds. A large veranda facing the Dikti Mountains and the Monastery of Agios Ioannis can offer an amazing view over the countryside. Next to it there is a separate bedroom with double bed, a bathroom en suite with bath/WC and 2 balconies. A nice place to relax and take part in village life.It offers the unique combination of peace anong with modern comforts and easy access to city life."

Quiet, cool and roomy accommodation
The property is well appointed in a quiet village a few miles from the north coast. It has wonderful views across a valley to a monastery. Good place for birdwatching and relaxing on the cool shady terrace. Manolis is a discrete and thoughtful host. It is well situated for visiting many of crete's attractions. The house is cool and roomy, with hot sunny terraces if you like sunbathing.
We had a lovely and peaceful time in Anopoli. We walked down the many trails and enjoyed peaceful evenings together. It was such a nice and relaxing place to be after the hustle and bustle of other parts of our vacation. Thank you for the hospitality and lovely stay!
Thank you for the excellent stay, we are looking forward to meeting and accommodate you with pleasure!!!
Beautiful home and an incredibly friendly helpful host.
We stayed for 5 days in April. We found the home to be very clean and the host to be incredibly friendly, helpful and easy going. The home mad for a terrific base of operations to visit the island and enjoy the friendly Cretan hospitality. I highly recommend this home.
Some points regarding the home. The house is set back from the main road so you will not be able to park at the front door but 50 yds. away. The roads are very narrow so if you are going to rent a car be sure to rent a small car. There was no issue with feeling safe, the neighbors were great and friendly. Please feed the cats that come to visit the back porch.
Thank you for the excellent stay.
The house is situated in the traditional village of Anopolis, accessible by a normal car.
As you have rented a 9 seater van, it was impossible to park the van at the parking place, we suggested you to park it at the village square public parking, which is 2 minutes walking distance from the house.
We are looking forward to meeting and accommodate you with pleasure.
Quaint Little Village
Anapoli is a quiet unassuming village and the home is warm and inviting. We enjoyed our stay. It is centrally located and you can drive to most parts of the island. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable, warm living area and the owner was very gracious. He met us and drove us to the village and also spent time with us highlighting areas to visit during our stay. He also made restaurant recommendation - Peskesi! Reservations are a must but it is worth it. Crete is a beautiful island even in December! We will return!
Thank you for the excellent stay, it was a pleasure to meet and accommodate you. We are looking forward to meeting and accommodating you again, with pleasure!!!
A very charming property with a fantastic host. Hard to find in a small village but owner made arrangements to get us directly to the property. An original olive oil mill converted into a very comfortable place to stay. The owner met us upon arrival and surprised us with a tray of fruit (apples and oranges), a bottle of water in the fridge plus a very nice bottle of wine. Highly recommend this location to any travelers.
Crete village getaway...
Exactly what we were looking for...lovingly restored stone house in a small mountain village (once an olive oil factory)...plenty of room (two adjoining bedrooms upstairs) and a large kitchen/dinning room/living room downstairs. Beautiful garden terrace off the living room...and wonderful deck on second level overlooking valley and monastery. The house itself is located on a small stone alley too small for cars of any kind. Absolutely quiet except for the occasional barking dog or rooster. The house has everything one could wish for (wifi, television, working fireplace, well equipped kitchen). The location is such that you must have a car to get to and from restaurants and grocery stores, etc. but they are only 5-10 minutes away at most. Highly recommended.
From Heraklion airport follow the directions towards East, Sitia/Agios Nikolaos. After 8 kilometers you will see the sign for Anopolis, turn right and follow the sign for Anopolis/Water City, after 500 meters turn right at the bridge towards Anopolis village 3 kilomemeters. At the center of the village, next to the church is the tavern Aramnos. That's where the owner will welcome you.
The location of the village is ideal to explore the island.
At Aramnos taverna, try out local cuisine with different dishes every day,or just enjoy a cup of greek coffee, at the village square.
For families with children a water amusement park with lots of different slides is situated 1 km away from the village.
Crete Aquarium, one of the biggest building complexes in Mediterranean, is only 5 Klms away, for those who adore and want to explore 2500 idividuals of fish and invertebrates, link
The local area provides lovely walks down country lanes of vineyards, olive fields, for those who enjoy walking/hiking.
The monastery of St.John is situated across the main veranda.
Hiring a car is recommended whether to visit
the Minoan palaces of Knossos or Gortys or the fascinating old towns of central, eastern or western Crete.
It's the character of Cretan tradition in its own enviroment that can offer hospitality in all seasons to anyone who likes to be close to nature and is looking for a life style away from busy rhythms of tourist resorts.
