About Ryan O'Mara
About me, I grew up across the street from Brook's Mill. But I also grew up on this property. The owner at the time let my brothers and I roam the part of the property across the street from our family's house. It is a fair sized property, around 5 acres or so. We would play baseball, smash rocks, climb trees, build forts, run races, collect beaver sticks, poke poo, tussle, ride bikes, ski, camp, toboggan, wade in the water and try to clean the sand off our feet before putting on our shoes. We were athletes, cavemen, animals, cowboys, explorers, damn builders, researchers, wrestlers, bmx champions and on top of it all - not being bothered by our parents. (of course my folks were probably just as happy to have a few hours of quite). I've always know that Brook's Mill is a great place. So since the first time the it came up for sale and I didn't win the Reader's Digest lottery, I have been saving my pennies. With a bit of patience and good luck, one of the rare times a childhood dream came true. So you must be asking yourself already, if this is such a great spot why isn't he living there with his family. Well, to make a long story short, I have been working and living in Europe since 1997, so I need some time to get myself back over to Muskoka. In the meantime, I hope to offer you a great place to make memories of your own at Brook's mill. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Why Ryan O'Mara chose Huntsville
Brooks Mill occupies one half of the bay at the southern end of Rebecca lake. There are shallows at the mouth of the bay, so you won't get bothered by big boats and other noise makers roaring around in front all day long. Rebecca lake is fairly quiet, but if there is a bigger boat out, they tend to stay in the larger part of the lake. If you have your own boat, our dock is deep enough for most boats and we have a fairly good boat launch.

We were very pleased with the locale, the cottage and all its amenities and, especially, the friendly, helpful reception and ongoing attention. Nice to have three separate rooms for people to bed down in and two separate bathrooms. Also, it’s always appreciated when the basics are in place and work well (e.g. showers, dishes, utensils, barbecue). If you are in doubt, go ahead and rent this one. You are not likely to be disappointed.
Cottage was excellent for our needs . Two couples and we had lots of space to be together or apart .
Great facility with ample outdoor activities right at the cottage or nearby . Lovely cottage and good fishingb
A beautiful get away. Perfect for making family memories. Wonderful hosts who were so kind and accommodating.
Perfect vacation with great hosts
The property is outstanding with a lot of amenities to keep the whole group entertained throughout our stay. Easy access to the lake, Huntsville and Algonquin are huge pluses. We enjoyed our stay, and got to make stores in a bonfire, BBQ on the deck, canoe across the lake. It was really a trip to remember.
Mike and Cathy were such gracious hosts, and even gave us the inside scoop on some local parks we could go exploring.
This was by far my favorite cottaging experience in spite of the rainy weather!
Fantastic, relaxing, homely
We had an amazing 7days at Brooks Mills, our host were extremely welcoming and popped by regularly to make sure we had all that we needed. Kids spent hours fishing, boating and playing on the docks and in the water.
We were close enough to provincial parks and wildlife reserves to spend hrs hiking or biking.
Just stunning. Thankyou.
Perfect place for family
My wife, our two young children (3 and 6months) along with our parents and in-laws all stayed here with room to spare. The cottage is exactly what we were looking for and the freshly made cinnamon rolls when we arrived set us off in the right direction! The kitchen was well stocked and the whole cottage was very clean.
The hosts were excellent to work with, planning and communication was quick and easy. I'd highly recommend this rental and my wife and I look forward to going back!
