disappointed - left early and was made sick by the room
My husband and I rented a room here for 2 nights but left after the first night as the smell of mold and mildew had irritated our respiratory systems all night. When we mentioned it to the owner she said we should sleep with the door open--the door was the only access to the room, it directly opens towards the parking lot, there was no window (you cannot appreciate that from the pictures) and no ventilation in the bathroom that was separated off in a corner of the room.
We decided to leave early because of the smell, and the owner insisted on a 30% cancellation fee and claimed not to know how to do a credit card refund. We suffered for four days afterwards which required medication and we still have not fully recovered. In six months of touring Europe, this is the first such experience we have had; the first time we terminated our stay early; and only the fourth review we have written (the other three were outstanding). while we could use the washing machine off the lounge, the owner did not provide any detergent which then meant we had to drive eight km to buy it at a supermarket.
The room was bare-bones and two old towels were provided. On the plus side, the common lounge was nice and the breakfast very French (juice, croissants, pain au chocolat, bread, jam, butter, and coffee/tea).
