The apartment is in an excellent location in Paris and is tucked away so much so that you don't realise that you are in the centre of Paris. It is an easy walk to both the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower and a Metro station is nearby. The check in process process was achieved via WhatsApp with lots of photos to make sure that you didn't get lost - we didn't actually see the property manager on check in but this was not an issue for us. There are restaurants and supermarkets very close by which is very handy. There were a few issues - on arrival we realised that the towels were still damp but were folded on a cold towel rail and there were only two left out despite us being a party of three. We also realised that despite the information booklet saying there should be two remote controls for the TV, there was clearly only one and as a result the TV did not work. The towel issue was resolved by turning on the towel rail but we had to contact the manager to find out how to do this and to resolve the lack of a third towel and the remote - the issue of the TV and the remote was not resolved whilst we were there - not a major issue whilst you are on holiday but nonetheless it wasn't as described. The fold up bed was unfortunately the next issue - as someone else has already said this is warped and does not lie flat on the floor. Added to this, the sheet was dirty. We did again contact the property manager and although he visited two days later, the fold up bed remained warped. In addition, although the towels were clean, they were all stained with what looked like make up from a previous occupant. The fold up bed needs to be replaced , it was not comfortable to sleep on and is clearly broken. The apartment is a small apartment which you accept it will be for the centre of Paris but this is more suited to two occupants only. The apartment did provide good value for money bearing in mind the location and it wouldn't take much to resolve what are minor issues.
The Good The Bad The Ugly
I will start with the good. Location. It's situated within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, close to the metro and has a little grocery store on the same street. Apartment has a small washing machine/dryer combo available for use. This is outside the apartment door but they give you a key to lock it. It feels secure as you enter thru a door and it's located in the back with a small courtyard outside.
The bad. This is a small space and in my opinion should not be rented for more than 2 people. The pull out couch was not comfortable and would not lay straight. The kitchen is very narrow and could only accommodate comfortably one person at a time. The toilet is located separately from the shower and sink area on opposite ends of the apartment. It is very noisy at night, you can hear others in the building into the night so if you're looking for a quiet place, this is not it. It also need a very good clean. It was very musty and my niece had to use her inhaler several times. When we arrived the place smelled of cat pee. I am assuming it comes in thru the kitchen window which was open when we arrived.
The ugly. Our flight was cancelled due to airline strikes and completely out of our control. We notified Laurent and his manager as soon as we knew. We have repeatedly asked Laurent to kindly refund us the night we did not stay. He has not responded to our last several emails. While we understand this is an inconvenience for him, it was a lot more than that for us. It was thru no fault of our own and because he apparently does not care, we are out 150 euros. I don't know about anyone else but that to me is not good business and the refund matters to us.
I would suggest you look elsewhere, I am sure there are many other places that will tick more boxes with an owner who will accommodate his customers.
thank you for your comments. as I told you, as a person working for an airline, in the event of a canceled flight, companies compensate their customers. In addition, payment cards do it too. you have all the documents to make you pay back. I hope yo appreciate the appartment and the location.
The property was located close to the subway station. It was very clean and quite
Comfortable stay in good neighborhood and location
Overall the property, apartment, was very clean. The location and neighborhood that readily provide comfortable living in Paris within easy walking distance of the Champs Elysee, Eiffel Tower, fine dining, etc., are the best features of the apartment. The apartment is very clean, but a few features show wear and tear. The first morning we discovered the coffee maker had a broken carafe. Easy work-around was to make more espresso. Carpet in living area has a curled corner creating tripping hazard. Adjustable table in same space no longer adjusts. Frame on fold-out bed is warped and does not rest flat on the floor. Apartment manager does not communicate well. Check-in was accomplished by manager's partner who gave hurried introduction and left quickly. On the other hand, it is recognized that this is not a luxury apartment and the facility was very clean and readily provided an affordable stay in a good Parisian neighborhood. Because of the cleanliness, good location, good neighborhood and affordable pricing, I give this property a 4 out of 5 (above average) as it represents a good value for the tourist.
thank you for the remarks, I will check the apartment and solve the various problems. I am surprised that you did not contact me during your stay, we could have intervened quickly. the previous customer had not reported anything abnormal and my manager either. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Great neighbourhood, close to everything
We had a great stay while visiting Paris. The place is not big, which is typical in Paris, and we found it a bit cramped for a family of four (two adults, two teens), but this was still much better than a hotel — we had a kitchenette, bathroom, and separate bedroom, all in a quiet, friendly, convenient and picturesque neighbourhood; Two convenience stores within 1-min walk, liquor/wine store less than 1-min, metro 5-min, and Trocadéro or Arc de Triomphe less than 10-min.
Communication with the property manager was quick and easy.
Only complaint about the place was the pull-out couch in the living room was flimsy and not very comfortable.
All in all, a great rental though!
We enjoyed our stay here. The location is good. It was a little tight for our family of 4 but we made do.
