Why House on Ardmore chose Goose Hollow
We only wanted buy a house within two blocks of where we are. Because, it's located on a very quiet street in a safe and the most desirable neighborhood in Portland. You can walk to evrywhere even downtown Portland is less than a mile walk and Washington Park is like our back yard. NW 23rd Avenue is also only 2 blocks away. There are so many excellent restaurants, cafes, bakeries, delis and too many good things to mention around here. We did not have a car and we did not need it because everything was walkable.

This property is located in a very quiet neighborhood close to many great activities and nature. The host, Miyoko, is very kind and made sure we were taken care of and really goes above and beyond in making sure her guests have a pleasant stay. We're really happy to have stayed at her place!
Everything was fine, the location and neighborhood were safe and beautiful,a couple blocks from huge park/zoo/gardens. The owner was responsive and very sweet. No complaints except for the little table in bedroom was rickety and old, really should have had something more stable, and the chairs seemed like outdoor metal ones, not comfortable but the price was super affordable. The outside was closed so that was a bummer but that’s life. I’ve never ever seen carpeting in a bathroom, which was a dated teal color to boot! We wanted to spend $$ on all the good restaurants and shops on 23rd not on accommodations- the price was so low compared to a downtown hotel. If she changes out the carpeting for tile and got a new table and chairs I would stay again! Thanks! P.S. the hills around the vrbo are steep so be prepared to get your walk on!
This property worked out great for me, due to it's proximity to the Alliance Française, where I was taking classes. Miyoko was very responsive to my needs, for instance replacing a broken hairdryer within hours, and always responding very promptly to questions. The bedroom was very pleasant. I hope to return.
Small and cozy
Miyoko was quick to greet us at the door once the garage door opened. She's very pleasant and responsive to texts if you have any questions. She'll also gladly lend you umbrellas, high chair, anything that you need and she has. The room indeed smells musty once you first go in, as another reviewer mentioned, but nothing that opening windows can't fix. After that it doesn't smell for our whole stay there. Construction was going on when we first arrived, but Miyoko was quick to shut it down after. We didn't get to see the backyard, which was ok, since we were too busy going places.
The place itself is small and cozy; there is only a microwave and a small fridge. Coffee maker is in the bathroom. I would say that it's a little difficult for the 4 of us (2 adults, 1 toddler and 1 baby) to eat around the little table. We could sometimes hear some muffled footsteps during the day or the garage door opening. Otherwise, the place is perfect for our needs.
My stay at Ardmore was very comfortable. I had everything I needed. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious, clean and there were many closets for storage. Miyoko was a great host and an interesting person!
This was our third visits in Portland. We stayed at House on Ardmore every time. Obviously, we love it here. Thank you for the wonderful memories and we will be back!!!!
Less than a mile from Downtown Portland.
