Great space, good location and splendid hosts. Would benefit if an electric kettle or stove top kettle available. Unable to use outside space due to mosquitos but all in all a good base for exploring.
Nette ruime woning vlakbij Alghero, zeer vriendelijke eigenaren! Aanrader!
Deze woning is ruim en netjes is van alle gemakken voorzien! Leuke inrichting, je voelt je direct thuis. Rustige buurt.
The place is perfect for young couples with kids . See you next time, thank you
In one word: Amazing!!!
For our 20 year wedding anniversary me and my wife, together with another family of friends, decided to visit Sardegna.
Our goal was to rent a car and sink into the local atmosphere, explore the beautiful island, relax, and, as enthusiastic fishermen, maybe catch a some local fish.
We chose this house because of its comfortable location - close to the airport and the sea, but away from the hassle of the city and because of the good reviews it had.
And we did not go wrong. A wonderful house, just 10 minutes away with car from the beautiful city Alghero with its long beaches, at a quiet and secluded place, with space for parking.
The perfect words to describe it: Style and comfort.
The house is furnitured with style and is well looked after. The bathrooms are clean and spacious and the beds are soft and comfortable, as if you were at home. In May there are no mosquitoes, the weather is warm enough to walk around in t-shirts and if you are brave enough - to take a swim in the calm sea.
If you decide to make your own dinner and have a calm evening in the small, but incredibly cozy inner court you have a barbecue at your disposal and the kitchen is fully equipped and contains the basic things for your daily needs.
Those are things that you will probably find in most places in Sardegna. The thing that makes this place so special are the people who will welcome you.
Angelika and Franko are simply one of a kind. They are the embodiment of the best things in the Italian character. The things they did for us were way beyond their responsibilities. When we arrived at the house there was a wonderful homemade cake waiting for us in the fridge, with two candles on it, together with a bottle of champagne. On the first day Franko showed us the surrounding area along with the park with great places for walks and fishing, the restaurant and the shop. He also showed us the beautiful secluded small beaches with corals scattered along the beach, with which we fell in love with at first sight. The note they wrote to invite us to dinner two days later surprised and moved us. The traditional and mouth-watering Italian dishes Angelika made us together with homemade wine and liquoir and, of coarse, the piano Franko played on like a god, were out of this world.
Thank you, Angelika and Franko, that you made our stay so special! We are looking forward to our next meeting- on a ski vacation in Bulgaria or again in the summer in Sardegna.

home away from home near alghero
My husband and two children (ages nearly 5 and 8) had a lovely stay at this property for 10 days in October. I copied this bit from another poster but it is totally accurate in our case as well:
"The property was accurately described with very comfortable bedrooms, plenty of clean linen and towels and nice decoration. Everything in the villa was clean, well-maintained and in working order. The villa was located in a quiet community within short walking distance of a well-stocked market shop. It was within a 5 minute drive of a couple of lovely sandy beaches (Bombarde and Lazaretto) or a comfortable bike ride. The owner is extremely friendly and gave outstanding customer service with nothing too much trouble. There is a lovely drive around Porte Conte Bay to Cappo Caccia where the stunning calcified Neptune Caves can be visited (600 odd steps down ..and back up..if you don't use the boat!). All in all we had a very comfortable stay and fully recommend the property."
I would add that Franco and Angelica were fantastic hosts, as we found a kitchen full of homemade wine, foods and provisions for the morning, which was lovely given our late hour of arrival. Franco and Angelica greeted us personally on arrival. They didn't seem to mind my noisy boys at all, which was very kind as I'm sure they made quite a racket! Maristella is sleepy and could use a litter pick but it was a good location for the local beaches and Alghero. There is a playground in the hotel around the corner and we brought the boys over one afternoon without reprisal. We drove to the Costa Smeralda for a day trip - 2.5 hours each way but very scenic and we stopped a lot. The property is comfortable and very homey and it's great having a washing machine, dishwasher etc for the stay. I would caution that there is a space at the top of the stairs which is a bit exposed for small, unattended children. Franco and Angelica coped well with our very broken Italian and gave us many great ideas about how to enjoy our trip.
Great place for relaxing
Our party included 5 adults and on infant child. There was plenty of room to all of us, house was clean and it was as described. At the dark and warm september evening it was nice to barbecue at the garden and look to stars. Yes, you can see stars since there is not too much other light on that really nice and quiet area. The owners live next door and for this particular case thats really good thing. They are just great, they make you feel welcome and are there for you when needed.
We found plenty activities nearby as theres a lot of beaches to go snorkeling. The National park area and especially punta giglio is worth visiting. We found a really good beach right next to hiking trail there.
Great stay and even better owners
My family (wife and four children ages 8-17) spent six nights at this rental. We had a great experience. Let me tell you what was great and why you should stay here and then a couple of notes about staying in Sardinia so you are ready.
First - the location was perfect...for what we wanted. We wanted a beach and quiet. This provides both. It's a 20 minute bus ride from busy Alghero and sits in a very quiet secluded area about five minutes off the beach in tiny Maristella. There is one market around the corner (which was great) and that's about it! The beach is literally five minutes away and it's a perfect beach. Not crowded, warm water, plenty to see for snorkeling and lovely sand. We shared the beach space with the Hotel Porte Conte and it's an ideal location. On Saturday and Sunday there are plenty of people, but during the week it was perfect.
We did not rent a car and instead had six bikes. We rode them to Lazarrato beach one day, which was amazing snorkeling, and the ride took 15 minutes. You can easily get to any of the beaches in the area by bike or bus or just walk to the beach around the corner which was our favorite.
Here is the best part of staying at this rental - Angelica and Franco are amazing people. They took care of us so well. Picked us up from the airport, drove us to a dinner appointment one night, took us back to the airport, brought us bruschetta one night and even had us over for a light dinner and singing and playing music. Franco is one of the nicest people ever and an amazing musician. He speaks no English and I don't speak Italian and we somehow carried on great conversations the whole trip. They are wonderful and will take outstanding care of you. They could not have been better hosts.
The apartment is two stories and very roomy. My family of six had no problem spreading out and enjoying the space. It's clean and much more like a house you are visiting.
Here are the qualifiers about Sardinia you need to be prepared for. It is not as polished as, say, the south of France or Spain. But that's wonderful to me and the beaches are better. Second, it gets very hot...and there is no air conditioning in the apartment...or most places in Sardinia. Be ready. We had some hot nights, but so did everyone living there locally.
Enjoy Sardinia, the beaches and this place!
Wonderful family deserves great welcome
