The property was as descriped and it was easy to get to the old town. Luigi was an excellent host and extremely helpful with suggestion as to places to eat
Amazing Views, Excellent Location.
Truly a.lovely spot. This large apt fronts the building, overlooking a marina, and the sea. It subsequently has endless fresh air blowing through its many patio doors, and stays cool through the day without canned air. Parking is free in front of the building, and seems very safe. It's a short walk through a tunnel very close to the building, to the main street of Gallopoli, Via Roma. Lots of restaurants, shops, cafes within minutes of the apt, and a fantastic supermercado about 5 minutes away by car called "family" along the lungomare (left from the apt, through two roundabouts, keeping left each time. Good bread, cheese, meat, produce etc...and great prices.
I loved staying here. Gallipoli is charming, as are the very helpful owners of this apt..... Luigi and his wife are friendly and kind.
I could see.myself staying here again...its very pleasant overlooking the water, and taking in the fresh sea air. There are only two negative points I could possibly make and they are that the dogs guarding the marina by night bark constantly when they see or imagine motion, and, the beds are honestly not terribly comfortable. Pretty hard and unforgiving. A great shame, because the apartment is marvelous.
Nearby beaches are beautiful (lido gallipoli) and the old town (centro storico) is wonderful. Recommended!!
Spacious apartment with an amazing view
The apartment and view is exactly as the pictures show. The weather was hot when we were there (a group of 6 women) so we used the outdoor space a lot. The view to the old town is gorgeous especially magical as the sun sets. The apartment is in a residential area above a working boatyard - so you do expect a certain amount of activity and noise but it was not bothersome. The furnishings are basic but the apartment was spotlessly clean. Luigi was waiting when we arrived and went out of his way to be as helpful as possible.
Appartment is a short walk from the old part of Gallipoli with many shops along the way. There are at least 5 harbours with much activity going on!! Appartment is spacious, ideal for small family with grandparents perhaps, it is overlooking a working harbour so occasionally there's some noise. A little more consideration for residents would be appreciated by controlling the 2 guard dogs at night!! "A woman's touch" to the Appartment would increase its potential!! A few pictures for walls, wine glasses, milk pan; quality beds with better quality bedding is essential for today's holiday makers....this would be a wise investment bring repeat business!! We enjoyed our holiday and saw much of Puglia during our stay!!
Great apartment with a magical balcony. Outstanding views!
This apartment has everything you need and the balcony is very special with spectacular views of Gallipolis old town and the ocean. Luigi was a fantastic host. Very kind and accomodating. The apartment is located very close to the main street of the new town and about 12 mins from the old town.
"Luigi was a very helpful...
"Luigi was a very helpful host and takes pride in the appearance and upkeep of his waterfront apartment. The apartment is lovely, very spacious and has breathtaking views of the sea and the old town of Gallipoli. Each large double room has a view of the water. Gallipoli itself is a beautiful town and a lovely place to take a walk or enjoy a coffee or a gelato. We had unseasonally cold weather when we were there in April and, as the central heating had been turned off for Spring, we needed to use all of the reverse cycle heaters. Unfortunately this regularly overloaded the system and the power cut out. It was easy enough to restart - just the flick of a switch but I guess it would be a problem in the heat of Summer as well. The hot water also came and went a bit. But that''s Italy. The apartment is close to the old town and you can walk in (about 10 mins) but there''s not really a footpath so you have to walk along the road. Without children, this is fine. I''d love to return - this time to experience the warm and sunny weather Gallipoli is famous for! Thanks Luigi."
(Text automatically translated) The apartment is located in the center of Gallipoli. The main Corso Roma, a meeting place for young and strolling for families, is just a 2 minutes walk. Nearby is everything, bars, tobacconists, supermarkets, ATMs, etc., etc. ... The beaches are sandy, are just a 2/3 min. drive a scooter or even better, especially in July and August are full of tourists / and from 10.00 in the morning until 5:00 the next sunrise. I recommend you come by car or, even more to rent vehicles on two wheels.
