About sarah austin
We moved to France in 2002, from the South of England. Sarah had a background working with animals, especially horses, Tim had his own groundworks company. We met only 18 months before moving here,we decided to take the plunge, neither of us speaking french! We have learnt as we have gone along, taught by our neighbours, with many a laugh at our expense. We have learnt enough french to run our own carpentry business in the area, doing traditional oak work. We were married in our village in 2005, much to the delight of all the locals, who supplied all the liquids necessary, good and bad!!
sarah austin purchased this Cottage in 2002
Why sarah austin chose Villamblard
We are country people and when we found Les Trois Maisons, with its fantastic view and large farmhouse kitchen we knew that it was for us - we loved the idea of renovating 3 ruins and a very smelly house! It was a long hard slog over 5 years, doing all the work ourselves, but now as all our guests tell us, it is a wonderful property in a beautiful situation. We have been adopted by our local agricultural community, which we participate in and gives us a very enjoyable lifestyle.
What makes this Cottage unique
we enjoy the fine weather of SW France and the agricultural ambiance, we ride our horse and walk our dogs regularly through the country lanes and woods, where we gather mushrooms and chestnuts in good french style. Although we are rural, the small local village is convenient, with all facilities, it can be reached on foot, by bicycle, by horse and occasionally by car if you must!

A lovely location
Great property with rustic charm and lots of outdoor space for kids and places to perch in the evening to watch the sun set. The pool was very welcome. Rural yet well placed for Bergerac, Perigueux and the Dordogne valley. Sarah and Tim were great hosts.
A great place
A really lovely place to relax and enjoy the surrounding areas. Lots of places to visit but just as nice to stay put and have fun by the pool.
Tim and Sarah are lovely hosts and very welcoming.
Will definately be visiting again!!
Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Welcoming hosts, lovely gites and relaxing pool all set in a stunning rural setting.
A great escape from the daily grind and to realise how life should be lived.
Only downside was having to leave!!!
Lovingly restored Gites
This is the 4th year in a row I have visited Trois Maisons.
I have travelled with family both Young a old.
Sarah & Tim have put their hearts into their gites and it shows. They are also great hosts and will do everything they can to ensure you enjoy your stay.
Villamblard is remote but easily accessible by car with many interesting places to visit.
The cottages are comfortable and well equipped with everything you need for your self catering stay, with home grown produce available too. There’s also lots do on the farm plus a very welcoming pool.
such nice people are always welcome, we look forward to seeing you again .
We had a wonderful stay at Trois Maison. Tim and Sarah made us feel extremely welcome. Beautiful setting and a lovely spacious gite. The children loved the pool and the adults were thoroughly relaxed! Highly recommended.
Great surroundings for a holiday
Great surroundings. We had everything we needed in School House which was very clean and well maintained. Sarah and Tim were very hospitable and very approachable if we needed anything. The pizza evening was very enjoyable.
