Why Juliet and Simon Ingman chose Pouzols-Minervois
We have lived in the Languedoc since 2004 and love the relaxed way of life here and the beautiful scenery. We finally settled in the village of Mailhac but have always liked Pouzols and know it well as our daughter went to school here. So when we heard that a house was available for sale in the oldest part of the village, we had to have a look. We have renovated several properties over the years, some of which have been in a sorry state of repair and required lots of imagination! This house just felt right, the minute we walked through the door. Although it needed updating, (there was no bathroom) it was easy to see how it could be restored to its former glory. Restoring it has been a pleasure and we love it when our guests appreciate it as much as we do!
What makes this House unique
The views from the house are very special, particularly on a clear day when you can see the Pyrenees. Sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine, watching the sun go down over the mountains is a joy. This house has oodles of character. The walls are 2 feet thick and there are stone walls or stone detailing in the kitchen, first floor bedroom and the sitting room which. It is charming and a bit higgledy piggelty. Nothing is quite straight. If you like straight lines and a sleek, modern look then this house is probably not for you. However we have restored it with our guests comfort in mind so it has all mod cons.

Peaceful in Paradise
Juliet and Simon’s home is as welcoming as they are! They made sure we had everything for a comfortable, convenient stay, including a wine tasting and grapes fresh off the vine! We enjoyed cooking our meals and eating out on the terrasse. Beds were comfortable. Views from the house were incredible. This quiet little village was perfect for our travel adventures. Can’t thank Juliet and Simon enough for sharing this gem of a home!
Bucolic French Hideaway
We really enjoyed our all too brief stay in this lovely property. Set in a medieval village with views over vineyards this was a perfect start to our holiday. The interior has been renovated with charm and attention to detail. A good kitchen with plenty of crockery and cutlery made eating in a pleasure. It was a delight to re-vist this part of France again.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Thanks for your comments Sally. Delighted you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again some day!
Quiet and relaxed
Very comfortable little house in the middle of a peaceful, unspoilt village. Tasted the excellent wines grown by the very friendly and informative owner. Great local entertainment one evening in the village "square".
We had a lovely week in this beautifully renovated property. Stunning views from bedrooms, kitchen and terrace. Tastefully decorated and fitted out with everything you need. Lovely host who was available if needed and even gave us a tour of their small winery. Absolutely recommend staying here but beware there are some steep steps!
Thanks very much for your kind words Wendy. So glad you enjoyed your stay in Pouzols. You were great guests!
WOW! What awesome home.
Stunning, clean, rustic, fully equipped, relaxing, unique, wonderful. Hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly - communication is superb. Only wish we had stayed a few more days.
Perfect place for a peaceful spring time break
We loved our stay at Pouzols-Minervois and found this the perfect village house to stay. Well appointed and characterful and totally in line with the descriptions received. The terrace was a delight when the sun shone and gave views to the distant snow capped Pyrenees.
Juliet was a attentive host and enjoyed the wine tasting of her locally produced wines.
Access to Caracassone, the coast near Narbonne and to the various sites in Cathar country were simple on virtually empty roads. Closer to home the area around Minerve was charming.
We found no difficulty in access - simply parking in the central car park by the boulodrome was the simplest compromise even if the short walk was uphill. Access to the upper bedroom is via a tight staircase but no real issue unless you are tall (we are not).
We can thoroughly recommend the area and the house.
Hi Martin. Delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Pouzols. Thanks very much for posting a review. Hope to see you back here again one day. best wishes Juliet
