Slice of heaven in Italy!
Wow. First of all, the view from the town of Giulia is stunning. Set on top of a beautiful high hill, you can see all the way to the mountains! Then as you arrive in this charming village center, Tiziano’s home is right at the gate archway. His courtyard is charming and allows you to see all the comings and goings of this town. The villa is very beautiful. The rooms are large and smartly layed out. You will lack nothing in conviences and Tiziano greeted us warmly and was a huge help with any questions we had. He checked in with us and was eager to make sure we were happy and well informed about our area. The village has a beautiful castle with views from the top of the whole area. The cafe, restaurants and grocery shops had friendly and caring people in them. We loved our grocery store right on the street outside our villa. Lovely lady and we miss her already. We were here for the villages annual Polenta festival and really saw the place come to life! If you are staying in this area, stay here. You won’t want to leave! Gratsie Tizianno!!!
Italian quiet, peaceful countryside vacation
We had a wonderful stay in Guiglia. Tiziano was a great host. He is busy during the day at work so you will need to arrive late in the evening. The apartment is spacious in an old structure. No AC. We kept the window open at night to let the breeze in which also let the mosquitos in to bite us all throughout the night (and a scorpion was walking in the living room which we easily let outside). The kitchen and bathroom was newly renovated with all the modern amenities. TV did not have any English channels, only a few Italian and local channels. Wifi worked well. I didn’t come across any grocery stores nearby. Guiglia is a hilltop village with its own castle. About a 45 minute drive from Bologna through winding streets. Hardly any tourists. Very homy and cute village which can be toured in about 10 minutes with 2 restaurants, gelatteria and a newspaper/farmacia store. I wanted to stay away from the big cities and this was just the perfect choice. The restaurant had a sweeping, panoramic view of the valley below. The apartment has no view from its windows. The apartment was practical and had all the amenities. I would give this place a 5 star rating.
Too bad not to have found the food stores since there are three in the square and the surrounding area within walking distance with fresh bread every morning as well as restaurants and bars, butcher shops and geaterie, which suggests that you do not care much to visit the area, in addition to a book that I recommend to consult where they are explained the atrazzioni of the area and other so many instructions titled and 'available 24 hours for requests and explanations, such that the area is hilly and does not require air conditioning, and that if you note we have the mosquito nets for 5 years throughout the house over the year 2018 that we lived particularly humid and with greater presence of mosquitoes, but Titian has equipped the house with products for eventualities, the scorpions? NEVER SUCCESS but in the case there were the problem are not poisonous or deadly, and precise that in the houses of 1500 in stone could SUCCEDERE, and precise that in 20 years of housing nvisit the area and not stop at the square and 'm recommended and not a week is not enough as you say 10 minutes, I recommend asking and inquiring, because this is the land of the castles and each village has a more or less large and picturesque as well as the scenic areas, not to mention the modena motori, with ferrari and all the biggest car brands, I also add the gastronomy with ham factories, vines, parmesan and balsamic vinegar etc.
Artistic and Comfortable
Owner has used his artistic skills in customizing this apartment into a beautiful place to stay. The showers were the best. Very private, with private yard. You park your car within the gated property. Very safe and secure.
Beautiful and wonderful
Tisiano was a gracious host! He made sure we were well taken care of. His place was very charming and the comfortable. We definitely recommend staying here. Thanks for a wonderful time! The Cicconetti's
Beautiful home and a great location
This is one of the nicest homes we have stayed. Lots of very nice touches and great décor. Tiziano greeted us with a welcoming fire going and a tray of local delicacies. The house is perfectly located to visit the surrounding area and see wineries, acetaias (balsamic vinegar factories), cheese making factories in addition to Modena and Bologna. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you.
