About the Owner

I found my funky cabin in the woods when I was tent camping at Ponderosa Park and taking a bike ride around the lake. I saw the for sale sign and rode right into the real estate office in town - a decade and a half ago! I've had so much fun fixing it up and getting away for retreats in McCall with my 12 year old Rottie, Gus! I LOVE the sacredness of the cabin and the mountains and the awesome nordic skiing, hiking, kayaking, biking. I hope you will find enjoy this little slice of heaven too!

Beautiful space for a friend reunion- deck is awesome!

We have stayed with at the cozy cabin twice, and loved both our stays. House is always clean, stocked with kitchen and bathroom items, and an awesome setting for hanging out with friends. Outside deck is awesome. location is close to town. Loved it! Thanks!

Beautiful Ski House

  • 4 of 5

Property was as advertized, beds comfortable, kitchen equipped, wood dry, water was a bit of a problem as it has an odor and needs to be filtered and filter is slow, however it is manageable; we bought a case of bottled water. Loft is not for the feint hearted, elderly or small children as you go straight up a ladder directly above a stairwell which in itself is steep for my 64 year old knees in my opinion. We had 5 of our family there and it is a good location between McCall and Brundage ski areas. We had a great time and it never really stopped snowing over MLK jr. Weekend.

nice place, but NOT for elderly or infirm guests

  • 3 of 5

We rented this cabin with two couples, and there are many lovely things about it. But there are some things to be aware of. First, I do not understand how it's listed as 3BR - unless you count the loft that's up a vertical ladder above one of the other 2 BRs. Both BRs are upstairs; one has a private bathroom, but the other requires you to go downstairs for nightime bathroom breaks (or go into the other couple's BR). The staircase between floors is extremely steep (would meet no building codes that I'm aware of). So any group that includes elderly or infirm individuals must avoid this cabin completely, and only fairly agile non-drinkers should sleep in the BR that has no bathroom.

That being said, the downstairs living space is quite lovely, as is the rear deck.

Great ski vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week in the cabin. We were 5 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs and there was plenty of space for us (some of the kids were on a mattress on the floor). It was so nice with the wood stove to heat up the house after a full day of skiing. We got lucky with a lot of snow and Brundage is only 10 min away! The snow removal in the driveway worked nicely and the house was exactly as in the description. We also went into McCall. The grocery store Paul's market had everything we needed. The ice rink was fun for some ice skating when we got tired of skiing and one of the cafes made really good soup. The view with the lake and the mountains from down town was stunning too. We would definitely recommend this cabin to our friends!
