Great House

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay at this home. Dave was very responsive and accommodating. The house looks much better in person than it does on the pictures. Everything in the house is new or looks like new. Kitchen is fully furnished and we had no problem serving 11 people. Owner is a general contractor and it really shows around the house as it it very well maintained. Even though the house is pet friendly, it was super clean and had no bad smell whatsoever. Large jacuzzi was clean and worked well. The backyard is HUGE, and I mean "you can probably fit 3 - three thousand square feet houses each with its own backyard" HUGE. It is very green and grassy; our dog had a blast! The creek is very nice. Downtown Tahoe is less than a 10 minute drive, and there was zero noise from the airport that is located not to far from this home.

I would recommend this home to all.

A little slice of heaven, for sure! Beautiful, well-appointed home, gorgeous yard/property to river

  • 5 of 5

This is our 4th year at the River House and was the best one yet! Whether you are inside or out, the views all around the property are spectacular. In the back yard, we had plenty of room for our rowdy games of croquet and wiffle ball along with plenty of times spent meandering down the beautiful private path to the river for some peaceful moments. And, it truly felt like our own little "slice of heaven" sitting in the hot tub at night gazing up at the amazing sky, Our dog had the best time of her life - happily running and playing in the yard and splashing in the river too. We were so happy to spend a couple extra days this year which made it really hard to leave!

Thank you so much David and Kathy for all your kind and wonderful attention, especially the preparations for our little guy and the time spent with Ridley (say hi to Charlie!). You have made the Tahoe River House such a warm and wonderful place for our family and we look forward to many years with you. See you next summer!!

WOW!!! Our family (and dogs) loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Our family just got home after a week of staying at this home. The owner (David) met us at the house and walked us through everything upon arrival. The house is amazing but the backyard (basically having your own private park) on the river steals the show! We went in the hot tub every night as my two kids (we live in the suburbs) have never been out in open spaces where you can actually see all of the stars including the Milky Way! Convenient location for some great restaurants in Meyers. For kids please try fishing at Sawmill Pond or Paradise Resort (a hidden gem for only a few minutes away from the house). We took a ton of pictures as our family will remember this trip for a long time...

AMAZING! Something for everyone, every season

  • 5 of 5

Location, location, location….within 2-30 miles of the cabin, there are Tahoe’s best hiking trails, fishing, ski resorts, beaches, stores, restaurants, and casinos. You wouldn’t know you are in a residential area after parking your car. It’s very quiet!

As noted by other reviewers the house was spotless, reflecting the pride of the owners. It was equipped with all the noted items and amenities.. The pictures did not do fully reflect the beauty of the setting and home.

The UNIQUE and best part of this cabin was the short walk through a well maintained pathway to the private, peacefully quiet, river front. A great place to have a picnic, go swimming, read a book, or spend the night. It was very serene: the only sounds came from nature— the river, birds singing, etc. You’d have to look hard to see other homes. The area had a good view of the night sky, which was brilliant with no city light interference. All this was within a 2-3 minute walk from the cabin itself.

The added bonus to all this are the owners, who are available if you need anything, yet provide full privacy for your stay. They are the kindest, thoughtful folks who have lived in the area for decades. They have a wealth of knowledge and can help you plan/direct any outing that you want. They quietly attend to little things (ie. when they heard my son was interested in sleeping in the enclosed cabin by the river—they immediately went out, took off the winterized window frame and re-screened the windows so that he would have a cross breeze). This is an underused gem of the site. Another example, was that our stay occured during height of pine pollen season. Our cars were covered in yellow pollen. On the day we were leaving, David, the owner hosed down our cars to provide a safe journey home. I can’t promise that he’d clean every car, but I am positive that they would provide great, old fashioned customer service and random acts of kindness to make your stay comfortable and memorable!

After 30 years of going to Tahoe, we have found a home away from home. We’re already planning our next trip. A week is just not enough time in this home!

Awesome and Tranquil place....

  • 5 of 5

The house pics do NOT do this place justice.. It was awesome and comfy. It is on the South side of the Lake Tahoe area, tucked away in a quiet area But close enough to a main street to get around quickly. Only wish we had spend more time at the house to enjoy it more. Everything was super clean. The owner does live next door BUT is only there if you need him. Great family layout of the bedrooms and games for the kiddies in the closet.Even croquet out under the porch. 5 star from me.
