Beautiful log home on a wonderful all sports lake!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! It's a little gem..... Every detail about the cabin was great. We enjoyed being unplugged and playing games together, campfires, watching fireworks every night across the lake, ice cream from gas stop down the road, & bike rides. The next door neighbors are very nice and helpful. Great location close to Traverse City. We brought our boat up and water skiing, tubing, & fishing was a blast! The only thing I would of liked is a picnic table or something outside, so we could enjoy the outside more. Many memories!

Beautiful & serene...

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is located on a large, beautiful lake, and was a perfect getaway 'up north'. We stayed during the week, and even though the weather was sunny, hot, and gorgeous, the lake was delightfully quiet. The huge fire pit was awesome, and used every night, and the kitchen table makes the perfect spot for games. The whole place is well appointed with comfortable furniture, and all the needed basics. And the bathtub is perfect for soaking after a long day outside.... We'll definitely be back!! Thanks again!

Beautiful home and location

  • 5 of 5

I spent 2 lovely nights here while my son was across the lake at Camp Tanuga. The house is just beautiful and extremely clean. The lake was calm enough for kayaking in the morning and the breeze picked up in the afternoon so it never got hot. Communication with the owner was quick, courteous and professional. The only thing that was even mildly inconvenient was that there was a tub but no shower, but it wasn't a big deal. The tub was deep and comfortable - perhaps one of those hoses that hooks to the faucet for hair washing would be helpful, but really it was such a minor issue in an otherwise delightful stay. The owner and his family have wonderful taste in decor and have done a great job with the house.

Best relaxation therapy yet!

  • 4 of 5

Very nice log cabin! Nicely decorated with comfortable rustic furnishings that looked just right for the setting. VERY clean! Descriptions was very accurate. The neighbors on either side are pretty close, so if you are looking for a lot of privacy, this may not be the best place. If you are looking for a warm, comfortable atmosphere with plenty to do around the area, then this place is perfect!

We were unable to enjoy the water due to it being too cold when we were there, however, I would love to return with the kids in the summer months so that we could enjoy the beautiful lake!!

Scott was a pleasure to work with...very personable!

I would HIGHLY recommend Shirley's In The Woods Diner on M-72 and Bear Lake Road! Excellent hostess and excellent food....especially the homemade bread!

Owner's Response: Jamie had a wonderful time at the cottage and she didn't mention it but she also got a great deal! Please let me know if a stay in the log home on Mansitee lake is what you are looking for. Scott

Week of Solitude

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very clean and well decorated. It had everything we needed, and I loved the wood stove! My husband and I really enjoyed the quietness of the cabin and the sorroundings. The lake is beautiful and many mornings and evenings it was like glass, excellent for kayaking. The location was great as it was not to far to Traverse City for some fun things to do. I would highly recommend this cabin for some great R and R. We plan on returning! Thanks

Great Lake Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

It is a gorgeous, meticulously maintained log cottage home! We all enjoyed the lake at the back door. The children were able to play in the lake & swim, fish catch minnows. We loved the surrounding towns including Kalkaska, Elk Rapids and Traverse City. The children enjoyed the spillway swimming in Elk Rapids and the beach. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation rental for all of us. The owner was very professional and responsive. We would definately recommend the rental for everyone.

From the Owner

This is a real full log home built in the fashion of a turn of the century cottage but constructed in 2004. Huge log trusses, real stone foundation, knotty pine interior throughout and real cast iron bathtub. The kitchen is fully modern with full size refrigerator, gas stove/oven, built in microwave, and real soap stone counter. It also features a Jotul cast iron wood stove, free firewood for your campfire, and use of our Old Town Stillwater canoe and 2 kayaks...paddles and life jackets included. The lake drop off is gradual and their is a shallow water 60' dock. Also really nice is the stacker washer and gas dryer.
