Just what we wanted.
This house was the perfect size for our needs and a beautiful setting. We loved the forest surrounding us and the peacefulness of the community. Very relaxing. Loved seeing the deer on our walks. The new play area for children was nice as we had our 3 year old granddaughter with us. The property was clean, well maintained and beds comfortable. Enjoyed the local dinning spots as well.
I absolutely love staying here! I love it so much we chose to stay here a second time! We will be back for a third visit next year! We are hoping to make it out "anniversary" place!
We were able to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at Harstene Pointe...other family members had rented cabins as well. This particular cabin was great: warm, cozy, clean, and spacious. Many thanks, and we'll be back!
A lovely home
The gentlemen before me was a little harsh in his review. We rented the home right after him and the golf cart was back in operational order. The dryer was still out, but that was not a problem. In fact that saved us from having to wash any pool towels. I was advised before we arrived that the dryer was not working and that the golf cart was having to be repaired. I communicated to the owners that it was a main selling point in choosing her home and she worked very hard in getting it repaired in time. There were no door issues, the light bulbs all worked and the telephone was in the closet. The master bed was amazing and we rested well and enjoyed the home very much. The only bummer for us was there was a burn ban on the island because of all the pnw fires. We would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you for sharing your lovely home and allowing us to bring our 2 dogs!
Lovely Island Retreat however Advertisement is Misleading
The rental advertisement featuring a bright blue golf cart is an eye catcher,
However, after we arrived we found a note saying it wasn't operational.
We also discovered to our dismay that the Clothes Dryer and CD/VCR player
were Not working. Instructions at the home to use telephone for gate access
were not helpful as the Telephone was missing. The front door was damaged
and we avoided using it when possible. The light in the stairwell to the bedrooms
was burnt out and we needed a flashlight to find our way at night. We booked this
rental months in advance and should have been notified that the golf cart would
not be available or received a rate adjustment. Use of the cart was the deciding
factor in selecting this rental. There are many rentals on the island. Although we
plan to return to the island, we would not rent this home again.
Harstine Home, a well polished retreat
My wife and I enjoyed this home away from home very much.Rarely do we rent a house that is as nice or nicer than what we live in. This home is excellent in almost all ways. The community that it is in is wonderfully kept and maintained. The only negative aspect was the lack of a view, nor did the owner make a claim that it did. We enjoyed this place thoroughly. We just might come back!
