We had a nice stay here! The condo is walking distance to the beach, but it’s a good 10 minute walk. Very little toiletries were provided, just a heads up (we had to buy toilet paper and we were only there a few days). Best place for breakfast is right around the corner, Shrimpy’s is a must! They had wonderful live music at night too!

Spring break vacation. Loved the condo! Very close for the beach. Had chairs and towels for the beach. Clean and comfortable. Five of us and we were very comfortable. Very affordable
The condo itself was nice but had water leaking issue and odor the whole time.
Long story short. We dealt with water leaking and odor smell. After several plumbers they discovered the drain vent pipe had a 3-5 ft crack and a 2 " hole. When the tenants upstairs had used the kitchen sink or
dishwasher the water leaked down to our condo. When the plumber had to remove the toe kick board water gushed out and there was an awlful sell. There was black boards under the cabinets with possibly mold. The owner felt because she sent a friend to clean with bleach, mold spray the odor was gone. It was not. Eventually WE threw out the rotten board that was removed, We cleaned additional times with
bleach, and WE would burn candles to help with the smell. The Condo management brought in plumbers, board president and board members at all different times . We asked if we would be compensated with dealing with the water clean up, smell and people coming and going. We were told by management they didn't have a contract with us to talk to the owner. Owner told us she couldn't do anything for us.
We asked if we could be reimbursed for some meals as the smell was unpleasant to cook and do dishes. The reply was she didn't have insurance to cover meals and the oven, microwave and refrigerator worked therefore we could cook. Our only inconvenience was we had to put the dish water into the toilet. This was our first winter retirement getaway. We didn't have the option to go somewhere else because everything usually booked a year in advance. We checked into going to motel but they were booked.
Unfortunately, several facts were omitted from your “long story short...”
You reported “an intermittent puddle appearing on the kitchen floor” Feb 4th.
I immediately called a plumber who made direct contact with you Feb 5th to arrange a visit which was to take place a week later - Feb 12th.
This plumber then arranged for scoping of the pipe work the following day, at that point it was confirmed that this was an issue for the Condo Association and therefore not my personal responsibility to repair.
The CAM (condo assoc manager) had the responsibility along with president & Vice President to locate a suitable proffesional team to repair the pipe work which was affecting my condo as well as the upstairs unit. They visited daily to monitor for smells & leaks as well as accompanying prospective techs.
I was updated twice a day & I was assured that there were never any Mold smells.
I arranged for my friend who lives in Tierra Verde & is a retired CAM to meet you and also so see what she could do to help the situation - she brought cloths to clean up under the cabinet, Mold spray & Mold absorber in a bid to avoid Mold odour.
Once the upstairs tenants’ had been instructed to not use the kitchen sink, the leak stopped - there was never a flood.
On several occasions you requested permission to eat out & that my insurance should cover these costs.
My insurance do not cover these expenses & I did explain this to you at your first asking - had the kitchen been non-operational ie, oven, microwave, refrigerater or stove - there may have been reason, but this was not the case.
I did twice offer you the option to check out of the condo earlier than scheduled with a full refund of any nights not stayed, but you declined.
My mother passed away Feb 8th hence my friend visited you on my behalf.
Vacation rentals team did reach out to me following a complaint made by you, they confirmed that everything I had already done to help you both, was all I could be expected to do in this situation.
Whilst I completely understand the upset you feel, this was a freak situation & completely out of my control.
Great condo, fantastic location. Short walk to several restraunts and the beach. Very clean and well stocked. We were pleasantly surprised by the large fenced in back yard
